Chapter 10 Jake knew he really needed to focus on his cases, but his mind kept wandering back to Adam. It had been a tough couple of days. Jake had suggested they stay at his place, even though it was a studio, but it had proven too small. The single-room apartment just wasn’t built for two people. He had admired Adam’s insistence on confronting his demons instead of running away. The man had stubbornly decided to return to his apartment and to work. “If I give up, then the asshole wins.
