Thing is, the former Commander Milton had told him and Kyra that Nicolas and Fara had some sort of relationship between them; he couldn't really define it himself as Nicolas never exactly explained it to him either. But when Fara became the Head witch and was unable to come to the mainland without the entire realm noticing, she created a secret way onto the Isle through which Nicolas could come to see her intermittently; a way which the latter later used in his battle to destroy the wizards.
