Chapter 14 Now what?

Davina's P.O.V

After catching up to Jake on what all happened to him. Also apologizing to my biological mom and twin brother, about our behaviour earlier, they said it was not a problem at all. I was so happy to see Jake. I couldn't control my emotions. We hugged and kissed and I cried to a point where he held me for more than 5 minutes to get calm enough to start talking. I told him about what all happened to me after we got captured. I told him I remembered the entire trip here, well except for the parts where I was bored and fell asleep a few times on our way here. He growled when I got to the part where I was almost rapped in my room by a guard. He growled again when I told him I was sold at an Auction. All that baffled him, he felt angry and disgusted with this place more and more. So did I especially what he did say was that they beat him until he almost died and left him bleeding to death in isolation. We held hands as we shared our stories of everything that happened answer sat at the couch with my mom and brother.

Jake was surprised I had a mom and brother, he was happy for me. Aria and Derek were both quiet listening to us catch up. Then Aria asked, "How long again have the two of you known eachother?"

I looked at Jake and he smiled at me to answer, "Almost 2 weeks we've been together getting to know eachother, but it's been 4 weeks since we met."

"Seems as though you both know eachother for years." Aria spoke more to herself than us.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked her.

"Well, the way your postures are and how your always touching and the looks you keep giving eachother, you don't look like that to another person unless your in love or have known eachother for a long time." She said.

"Well, it's the mate bond isn't it?" I asked her raising an eyebrow.

She frowned, "The mate bond, is a bond yes, between two supernatural beings, but it's only as strong as the love between the two people in it. That's where the pull towards eachother to mate and mark become more stronger. You see, when I met your father, yes it did take me off guard, and yes the mate bond took over hence why you and your brother are here, but see, we did not love eachother, because we didn't know eachother well enough, well I pushed him away, yes I felt that I did not want to hurt him and I know I could never. So we agreed to keep the bond, not knowing what it would do to the other. Some people fall into depression or die. I can't afford either. Yes I know I am a little weak without him being near, but what I need to do doesn't require strength just yet."

"What do you mean?" Jake asked.

"We are planning to take this place down and have its rightful leaders in place and put a stop to this slavery, s*x trafficking, Selling and bidding of people. I have a lot of followers inside and outside of this place, awaiting my Comand. In a couple days we will be ready. I will shoot a firework in the sky signalling all to fight. In that time I want my daughter out of this place and to be safe. Which is why I was wondering about how close you two are. Now tell me Jake. Are you in love with my daughter?"

I held my breath and looked at Jake, he was staring straight at me, and answered, "Yes, I am." I smiled.

"Davina, are you in love with this man?" Aria asked.

Ring ring! Aria's phone rang just when I was going to answer and she got up and walked away. She quickly hangs up saying, "I'll be there right away Sir." She looks at Derek, "Let's go son, they need us at the Mansion, we are bring some potential soldiers and guards back here for training and breaking."

Derek nodded and they both left in a flash without saying anything or looking back. That's how they've both been these past two days that we were here. I was training non stop since then but took a break today because they've been waiting for that call that they just got to leave.

What my mom was saying was playing through my head after they left. That sometimes the mate bond makes our bodies crave eachother but I guess what matters is if we feel love from our hearts for the other person, Like we need to know for sure if it's real love and not just the mate bond. Without the mate bond I know I was heartbroken for losing Hardin, he was my best friend, my everything. Then, meeting Jake he fills me with excitement because he's still a mystery to me and he makes me feel so much alive while Hardin makes me feel safe. Both these men bring something out of me in different ways. Jake, I was getting close to him before Hardin showed up, I wanted him. But, I'm so confused as to what I need. I hate that I have to choose at all. I hate that I'm stuck between the two. I do have to make a choice and soon. I know I'll be hurting one of them and I don't want to but I have to.

"Are you okay?" Jake asks me after being lost in thought for a few minutes.

I blinked and said to him, "I don't want to choose, I don't want to hurt either of you. I didn't ask for this." I choked and tears fell down my face.

He grabs my hand and kisses it, "I'm sorry this all happened. I wasn't planning on falling in love with you but I am in love you. If you were to choose me, I promise to to always be there for you to support you, to be there to wipe away your tears and not be the cause of them, I promise to make you happy and I will love you until my last breath. But, if you choose Hardin, yes my heart would break, but I promise I will hold this mate bond with you until I am well enough to reject you properly." He looked into my eyes pleadingly. "For now, I want you to at least give me a chance to be yours for awhile, even if Hardin comes back just be my girl for awhile before you make your decision, please, Hardin had years with you, give me a month or something before you decide. I won't pressure you into s*x unless you truly want it."

Frowning I said, "So you want to be my official boyfriend?" I asked.

"Yes, I wanted to ask you that day we were having hot chocolate and French vanilla outside your place before we went inside." He chuckled.

He's right, I dated Hardin for years and I know Hardin like he knows me. I owe Jake a chance to get to know me better and I want that chance to get to know him as well as I barely know anything. I know, Hardin will let me do this, I know he'll understand my choice, he has already talked to me about this before, that he'd already support me on whatever I want to do. If Hardin comes back I'd have to tell him myself, I cleared my throat and said, "Fine, I'll do it. I'll be your girlfriend under two conditions." I smile at him.

He smiled back, excited saying, "Okay tell me."

"One, I will be the one to tell Hardin and two, No doing lovey dovey things in front of him." I state.

"Okay. I can do that." We hugged eachother.

"We'll date for 2 months, after that I want to be alone for awhile so I can make my decision. I'll tell this to Hardin as well." I nodded sure of myself this time. God, I hoped this will work. I do have to give him a chance. I know this will help be decide what to do. Since I barely know Jake and this will also be a good opportunity for me to know him better. I need to spend more time with him. I just hate that, I also love Hardin. All this is just so confusing to me. This mate bond and mixed with my true emotions get mixed up easily, even my body craving to be fully mated and my wolfs feelings, all of it mixed up. I have to take this at my own pace and take charge.

"Okay." He smiled at me again. "So as of now, we are boyfriend and girlfriend?" he raises an eyebrow at me.

I smiled and nodded, "Yes. For now."

I got up to grab a coffee and said, "You want one?"

"Sure, just 2 sugars for me please." he said

I make mine with 2 sugar and a splash of vanilla flavored cream. I walk over to the couch area and give him his cup and I sat down with mine, drinking it. "So, you have a newfound brother and a mother? How do you feel about that?" he asked curiously.

I swallowed my coffee before I said, "At first, I didn't believe Aria when she was telling me, I mean, it all doesn't make sense of why my dad never told me I was a wolf. Why hide it, because his mate was a werewolf. But then, I think she hid that part from him I'm not sure." I shook my head. "I gotta hear my dad's side too." I sighed.

"Hopefully we can get out of here soon." he says.

I nod, "Yeah, they have a plan, but I don't even know their plan. The only thing they want me to do is run when the time comes."

"When the time comes?" He frowned.

"Yeah, apparently, they have people or I should say other supernatural beings out there that are willing to fight back to reclaim this place."

"So, the vampire Demetri is not the real leader of this place?" he asked.

I shook my head, "No. My mother is rightful heir but he doesn't know that."

"So then, you and your brother are next in line to rule this place if she reclaims it back." He took a sip of his coffee.

I wrinkled my nose, "I don't want to rule any place, I just want to get out of here and raise my horses and make money breeding race horses and maybe even go rodeo for while and then someday have a family of my own and teach them about the horses." I said almost coming to tears feeling stuck, but I brushed them away quickly and said, "But, that's okay I'll just do my best to escape from here and then talk to my dad, get use to being a wolf and y-you want some more coffee?" I asked slurring my words.

He frowned at me, "Are you okay?"

"I am fffine. I fine." I slurred and get up to get us more coffee with our cups. Then my legs gave out from under me, I fell to the floor on my hands and knees and the cups went flying, smashing as they hit the floor. I closed my eyes and felt the pounding in my head and my ears were ringing. I didn't even hear Jake's concern voice beside me trying to get my attention. He tried to offer me a hand to get up and I swap it away from me and got up fast with vampire speed and everything started spinning my legs gave out again, this time I was in his strong arms. He picked me up bridal style and carried me to my bedroom and laid me on my bed.

"Davina, your shaking. What's wrong?" He asked me as my hearing finally came back.

"I" I whispered but I couldn't speak, my mouth and throat was dry. Then, it hit me, I hadn't fed in days, not since we've been captured about 4 days ago. I tried to tell him, but no words came out when I opened my mouth.

"What's wrong Davina?" Jake asked sounding worried.

"Need...t-t to..." I stuttered and slurred my words. I coughed my throat was so dry and the thirst for blood began to be painful. A burning sensation feeling in my throat making it tingle. I looked at Jake as he brushed my hair out of my face tenderly. I can hear his heart beat..can hear the sound of his blood running through his veins. "Blood." I whispered as I leaned into him, bringing out my fangs, I opened up my mouth but was pushed back.

"Stop! Davina!" Jake shouted.

I grabbed both of his arms as he was trying to push me back. I held his arms and dove for his neck hissing with inhuman speed. Then he spun me around and held my hands behind my back as I trashed and kicked at the wall sending us flying backwards towards the floor. He pushed me off him and we were facing eachother ready to grab one another. I see a little bit of blood trickling down both his arms where I had grabbed him. I hissed at him showing my fangs.

Just then the door opened and came in Aria and Derek. "What's going on?!" Derek's voice boomed in the room as Aria quicky shut the door. My head snapped to them and I growled as the sound vibrated throughout the room. Just before I jumped at them. Jake Grabbed my legs and I fell face down onto the floor and Derek jumped on top of me to pin me to the floor.

"She needs human blood!" Aria races out of the room. I wasn't sure how long time passed as I tried fighting them both back. Eventually I was able to kick Jake off but my twin brother was holding my arms and I was able to twist in his arms with my vampire speed and knock him to the couch. I got up and lounge for Jake but he dodges me. Aria came running in, holding a human girl and yells, "Davina!" She cut the girls wrist. The delicious smell of blood flooded the whole room and now I was only focused on the blood. Within inhuman speed I was the girls wrist to my mouth, sucking every bit of blood that I can have. Then a strong force pulled me away from the girl as I hissed, consumed with blood lust. I did not hear them yelling at me to stop. Until I looked at the girl, she was limp in Aria's arms. I can hear her faint heart beating slowly. I had almost killed a human girl, a stranger.

I walked backwards away from the girl putting my hand to my mouth as realization hit me. I almost killed someone. I gasped and ran to my room and threw myself on my bed in tears. What have I done? I'm a monster. That wasn't me at all. I am not like that. How did I let myself lose control like that? I hope I didn't hurt anyone else. I just got Jake back and the first thing I do it throw him around the room like he didn't mean nothing to me? He must hates me now. I couldn't believe I just did that to that poor girl. I've should've known to stop. Where did Aria even get her? I hope she's okay. I can't go check on her knowing what I just did to her. I never wanted this.

I cried until I couldn't cry anymore feeling guilty and ashamed of myself for losing control. I laid there until I fell asleep, I was glad that no one came bothered me.

I woke up a few hours later, stretching and yawning. I needed the nap. I reached over and checked the clock on the bedside table. It was only 1 pm. I got up and quickly jumped in the shower to wash the blood from my face and hands. I put on a blue jeans and black v neck Long sleeve shirt and put on my pumps and headed out of my room with my long black hair hanging loose around my shoulders. I didn't bother with any make up this time.

Derek, Aria and Jake were sitting in the kitchen talking and food was made. They looked up at me as I entered the kitchen. I looked down and fiddled with my fingers I took a deep breath, "I'm sorry for what I done to you both." I looked between Jake and Derek, "I didn't mean to fight you both and lose control. and I'm sorry I hurt that girl."

Derek smiled and Jake smirked. I frowned at them, "It's fine, actually it was rather fun wrestling around with a hungry Hybrid." Derek said.

"So, your not mad?" I say slowly.

"Why would we be mad? It was our fault for not getting you to feed sooner." Aria said.

"Yeah, We should have realized you hadn't had blood since you got here, that a long time to go without blood, were surprised you haven't passed out." Derek says.

"She almost did." Jake says and smiles at me.

"So, how's the girl?" I asked Aria.

She waves her hand at me wrinkling her nose, "She's fine, just passed out from fear more like, She's doing okay, you didn't hurt her much, just scared her that's all. I'll be bringing in another one for you to drink in awhile."

"No, you don't have to I don't like drinking from innocent-" I got cut off with Aria's hand up.

"These girls are far from innocent. They are Dancers for the men around here and they go out and help steal other human women to sell them to multiple buyers outside this place. Everything they do willingly so that some day they hope their king can turn them and he eventually does. The more bad they bring, the better for him in his eyes they look to please him. Most of them are food for the vampires." Aria says.

Derek gestures for me to sit next to him and Jake. "All they live for his pleasing vampires. So yes, you can have another one to drink her blood from. You won't kill them."

I sighed and sat down and smelled the delicious food in front of me. We were actually having poutine's. Fries topped with cheese and gravy. My mouth watered, as I hadn't had this in a long time. I dug in, realising once again that I was hungry. I guess I could have another drink of human blood from another girl. As long as I am not killing her and she's not innocent and is also willing. I wouldn't want to risk losing control like that again and hurting people I love. I wolf down my food fast and I had a drink of water after we ate we sat around in the livingroom talking about our day so far and Derek says I have to continue training tomorrow. Aria says no luck in finding Hardin at all. She was still waiting to hear back from Demetri about her request in taking over the new guards they bring in to interrogate and break until they are loyal to them and then train them as either guards or foot soldiers to fight battles around wherever needed for Demetri. Aria spoke to a few of her trusted people to keep an eye out for Hardin, giving them a description of him that I have given her earlier. Still no word of his whereabouts.

The longer time spent away from him, I feel the mate bond weakening. Which made me feel on edge and constantly worried about him. I am well attuned to this feeling for him as I have felt it for a whole year that he'd been missing. Worried, anxious, sad, lonely, scared, and always wondering what if. What if he's dead, or what if he's trying his best to get to me, what if he's getting tortured the way Jake was.

"What's wrong?" Jake asked and reached for my hand, I gave him a squeeze.

"Just, worried about Hardin that's all." I told him honestly.

He frowns and looks at Aria, "Hey, do you know what's in that small house beside the mansion on the far right?"

It was her turn to frown, "Well, it's a house for a witch. He needs witches living outside near the mansion for protection in case it's needed, they create these shields together, these shields are used for different things. To either shield them from enemies causing confusion by them thinking they're at a wrong location. Also they glam the entire house to make it seem as though it is a regular house and if they get close they get confused and go the other direction and forget about what they were doing, it's a pretty good spell, only a few are able to tell what's happening and be able to enter the house and attack, witches however, try to break the spell but it's hard for them when there's more than one witch doing it."

I nodded at Aria then I looked at Jake curiously, "Why you ask?"

Jake looked at his hands then back up at me, "Because I saw Hardin in that house but I tried knocking but he couldn't see me at all."

I stood up and looked at Aria, "There, now we know where he is, we have to go get him."

Aria shakes her head, "We can't, that area is off limits, even to me. If he is in that house that means they'll soon make him pledge his life in serving Demetri soon. He has to go through a few trials with the witches and then, battle some wolves and vampires to earn respect and loyalty. It takes days. It's why I am asking to take over, so they'll give me him that way, I can't go and ask for him specifically, they'll ask questions."

I sat back down defeated. She's right, we all have to be careful while we're living here, they have allies her but Demetri also has a lot of spies everywhere I bet. We can't just do what we please without him hearing about it. It's reason I don't leave here except to go training.

"It's okay, he's not being tortured Davina, he's past that stage. He'll be safe for a few days or weeks." Aria says.

My head snaps to hers my eyes wide in surprise, "Weeks?! So, your not attacking anytime soon then?!"

"No, we must wait for more warriors to come. I have a lot staying in the city near by, but more are coming from different parts of the World too not just the country. I didn't know until last month I have family in some islands across the seas. Everyone has their own lives and are willing to help us win this place back. A lot of them don't like the s*x trafficking going on and the personal selling of our mixed species. Demetri is the biggest seller out there and a lot of them want him stopped for their own reasons. So we must wait for them to show up. I say weeks because they come traveling far, and they have jobs, businesses, families to get them prepared for their absence. I am telling you this is going to be a huge battle. I want you gone while it's happening."

"Why do you want me out of here so bad when it's happening when I can help you win?" I asked her.

"Because if we lose, and Demetri sees you as your true Primal Being, he will want you for himself." She said in a serious tone.

Jake growled and I asked, "What do you mean?"

"Demetri will not sell you, he will keep you prisoner forever and force you to make babies for him, Heirs to his throne." She said looking at me in the eyes to make me understand.

I gulped as Jake growled again, "Okay, well I'll run, I already promised Derek that I will." I nodded.

"Well I'm off to my room now for the night. See you guys in training tomorrow." Aria says as she walks out of the apartment like room that Derek and I share.

I sat there after she left, as everything she said, ran through my mind. I have got to help somehow, but how can I help with this upcoming battle without revealing myself. I don't think I can hide myself if I did intervene. For now, I just have to find out how to get Hardin back, if we can even get him back. I know the bond between us is already weakening. I'm not sure if it'll last weeks. We have to reconnect again. I wish I knew more about this mate Bond thing. I wonder if I can give Alley a call. I hit myself in the forehead, I am so stupid. How come I haven't called her yet? She must be worried sick. "Aria! Wait!" I get up from my seat ran out into the hall and grabbed her hand with vampire speed pulling her back in the room shutting the door, "Can I call Alley?" I ask.

She bit her bottom lip thinking, "Sure, use this." She handed me a cellphone. Call anyone else you wish, but don't tell them where you are." She warned and then marched out of our apartment like room.

I turned to Derek and Jake with an apologetic expression and dialed my sister's number I had memorized. "Hello?" Alley answered quickly on the first ring.

"Hey, it's me." I said into the phone.

"Davina!? Where are you? I've sent out search parties for you! I'll-" she was cut off for a few seconds and my heart hammered with worry. Then I heard a shuffling and then a deep familiar voice answered, "Davina Where are you?"

"I'm okay dad." My heart was beating loud in my ears, I've never seen or talked to my dad since they left for the Lakehouse to retire. Plus the feelings of him lying to me my whole life came bubbling to the surface.

"Come home now. We need to talk." he says in that tone I knew so well when I had to listen to him, now I know that's the Alpha tone he's using on me.

I shook my head as if he can see me, "No dad. I can't come home. You can't know where I am, just know that I am safe."

"If your safe than it should be easy to come home." he said.

"It's not safe here, but I am safe, I'm with Aria." I said carefully.

He was silent for a long moment, I waited patiently before he spoke, "Oh." he finally said.

"Oh!? that's all you have to say, is Oh?!" I yelled.

He sighed, "That's what I was going to talk to you about."

"No need, I already know I'm a wolf, a Alpha Heir from you, and I already know Aria is my mom and I already know Derek is my twin brother." I stated.

"Twin?!" my dads voice squeaked.

I was taken aback, my dad never loses his cool like that, let alone he's never shocked so easily by anything, "Dad?"

"You have a twin brother?" he asked carefully this time.

"Yes dad, his name is Derek."

"Aria lied to me, she told me we just had you, I had no idea I have a son." Now he sounded angry. "I don't care where you are, I am going to find you both and bring you home."

"No! Dad! you can't! it's too dangerous!" I spat.

"Why are you there if it's dangerous! Where are you Davina?"

"I'm-"

"I know exactly where you are now." my dad says.

"What do you mean?" I asked shocked.

"My men just did a tracking to your device your using." he says.

Panicked, I hung up the phone and smashed it on the floor with my head, eyes wide realizing what I did was already too late. My dad knows my location, he won't stop until I'm safe in front of him. He's coming for me now.

Jake comes up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder his questioning gaze meets my eyes and asks, "What happened?"

"My dads coming, I don't know when, but he knows where I am now." I said.

Just then, Aria came back in saying, "I need the phone back so I can-" she paused holding her hand out and saw the mess I made of her phone on the floor, she looked at me and sighed, "What happened?"

I rolled my closed my eyes and pierced my lips before I looked at her and said, "My Dad is on his way."

"What!?" She yelled.

"He tracked me down while I was on the phone." I told her.

She sighed "What else did he say?"

"I told him about Derek, I thought he already knew about him" I asked her.

She put her hands in her face and groaned, Then she jumped as a other phone rang in her pocket. She frowned at the ID and sighed, "Now what?" she growled into the phone annoyed and walked out.
