Chapter 7 Mate Bond

I woke up the next morning, feeling full with energy. I smile and stretch in bed and I hit someone, "Ow!" I look up to see Hardin, rubbing his nose. "I'm sorry!" I say. Then he hugged me and gave me small kisses all over the place, making me giggle as his medium Stubble beard was tickling me. After awhile we just stopped and held eachother, "So, no training today?" I asked him.

He chuckled, "Sorry, not my training as you did enough yesterday. But, I think you have to make lunch for Emily soon."

"Emily!" I sat up and looked at the clock behind Hardin on the nightstand it read 11:15 am. " Oh my gosh! I really did sleep in huh?" I jumped out of bed and took off my my long night shirt even though I knew I was standing completely naked in front of Hardin, at this moment, I didn't care. He's already seen me three times now. I quickly put on my underwear and pulled on a Jeans short shorts and long sleeve wine colored shirt with a U shape neck line exposing my whole neck. I quickly tied my long black hair into a ponytail and put on my flip flops and walked out into the kitchen to cook, with Hardin following right behind me to help.

I stopped in the middle of opening the fridge for ingredients when I smelt it. The most amazing smell I've never smelled together. It smelled like Vanilla and Peppermint. I frowned and looked at Hardin, "I smell something..." I trailed off as I saw movement in the corner of my eye coming from the livingroom. I followed the smell and the figure in the livingroom and couldn't believe my eyes. Jake was standing in the livingroom, staring at me with wide eyes. I too just stared at him mouth open, not saying anything for a few minutes.

"You?" I pointed at him.

"I knew it, I knew I felt something." He says.

MATE!! Celine screams at me.

Oh no. I start shaking my head and I look at Hardin who already had this sad look on his face, he looked so defeated, it broke my heart and then I looked back at Jake and I can feel my heart beating in my ears. He took a few steps to me and grabbed my hand. At that moment, Sparkes flowed through my whole body and sending butterflies in my stomach and chills all over my body and I felt the pull towards him, I wanted him to touch me more. I looked to Hardin again, this time I felt a live wire between us and I pulled my hand out of Jake's and I smelt Pine trees again but this time added with The smell of hot chocolate, my eyes widen in shock and as I stared at Hardin, I knew he felt it too, a strong pull, like as if their was a lifeline in between us and if we separated, we'd break. As he stared at me his expression changed and he took a step toward me, I felt so alive, and happy and free. What is this?

MATE!!

Celine screamed again. Wait what? I looked back at Jake and felt the same for him and I looked back at Hardin and felt the same for him as well. What is going on here?

They're both our mates!

How is that possible? Celine?

The night Goddess Chose them Both for us, maybe she's leaving the decision for us to choose.

"Your both my mate." I said out loud frowning, confused.

Wait, then why hadn't I felt this before with Hardin until now?

That was my fault, I was in a deep slumber after changing twice, it's why we need practice and more training to switch, it takes too much out of us both. You're only able to feel the mate bond when I'm not sleeping. The first turn does that to us wolves. Sorry, I just woke up when you reached the fridge.

She went away again and I felt her giggling.

I walked passed Hardin and went to the fridge again and started pulling out ingredients. "Are you going to help me make lunch or your just gonna keep staring at eachother?" I asked Hardin and Jake, who both had their hands at their sides with their fists clenched, both men breathing heavily eyeing eachother down as if ready to strike eachother. They finally snapped out of it after they heard me talking.

Jake came up to me and asked, "What do you need me to do?"

"Just cut thaw out some chicken breast and cook it, Hardin, I need to to go around back into the garden to grab some Carrots, Romain, Tomato and green onions." I told them as I started boiling water in the pot and finding the noodles to place in the pot later. Then, I grabbed Garlic and started mincing.

"I'm sorry for lying to you." Jake says.

I shook my head annoyed, "I don't want to hear it right now."

"Please, listen, I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just following orders." he pleaded with me as he touched my shoulder.

I moved his hand off my shoulder, "Could you please just not talk about this right now?"

"I'm just trying to apologize." He said.

"Just stop!" I yelled at him.

Then I felt wind in my face I closed my eyes and opened them for a moment, and saw Hardin standing in between me and Jake, "Quit pushing her to do something she doesn't want to do, she's been through alot." Hardin growled at Jake.

"Oh yeah, who asked you Leech?" He growled back.

"ENOUGH!!" I yelled at them both. "We are guests at a house where my best friend was kind enough to let us stay to do training!!! No fighting in her House!! Dammit!!"

They both stared at me shocked. It was Hardin who cracked a smile at me though and Jake looked down ashamed. "Get back to work!" I yelled again and this time they both did as I said. I shook my head, Stupid! Boys are so stupid! Immature! and Fight over every little thing just to see whose more Manly! Stupid Mate Bond... This has got to be a curse! Why did I get stuck with two mates?!

Because we're the first Hybrid ever in existence. No one ever gets two mates, it's always just one. We're lucky, too bad Hardin doesn't have a wolf though, I bet he'd make a beautiful wolf and Jake's wolf must look good, I can't wait to see his.

I rolled my eyes at Celine, she's having way too much fun for this. After awhile of cooking in silence with my two men, Emily came home and announced, "I am free for 2 weeks!"

"Yay!" I jumped up and gave her a hug to greet her and then she pushed me aside and looked at Jake standing there washing his hands in the sink. She looked him up and down, licking her lips, she then looked at me, "And who is this man standing in my kitchen?"

I looked at her then and she dropped her smile as she saw the look in my eyes, "My mate, Jake." Her eyes widen and she looked at him again and he came up to her and shook her hand, "Hello, Zack sent me to train Davina."

"Hello to you too handsome." she said to him and then she looked over his shoulder at Hardin and then looked at me, "And him?"

I cringe and nodded, "He's also my mate."

"Whoa." she let out a breath, "Okay, So is that a normal thing to have two mates?" she asked out loud.

Jake finished setting the table and he said, "No, it's usually just one mate for one each person. But, I have heard of the mate bond choosing two mates for someone else before."

"What happened, then?" I asked curious.

He shrugged, "Not a hundred percent sure, I only heard rumours, as they have it, it was a male wolf who had two mates bonds, one with a witch and the other a wolf. People said they killed the witch together and they lead together as Alpha leaders. Others say he chose both mates and had many children from them both. See I don't know what truly happened."

I blinked, "Well, I guess we figure it out as we go. I mean, we need more research if anything." We all sat down. Jake on my left side and Hardin on my right and Emily right across from me.

"Yeah, your sister and Zack were already contacting other wolves they trusted and looking around, they said they'd call when they'd find something." Jake said as he ate. We made Chicken Alfredo, Garden Salad and Garlic Bread.

"Yeah that's what Alley told me. Anyway, Emily how's training for you?" I asked her, just wanting to get off wolf topic and mate bond stuff for now.

"Great, the coven are really nice and helpful to me. They showed me how to do a few, protection spells, I wanted to try one here later tonight. Its a spell where it protects this house from uninvited guests." She takes a sip of her Wine.

"Cool, how does that work?" Hardin asked curious also.

"Well, I have to light some Sage with Sweetgrass and walk around the entire house and inside over windowsills, and all doors, all the while writing runes of protection and strength and wards while I do it. I also will need to meditate and you all have to be sitting in a circle in the livingroom meditating also, when I'm done meditating I'll start but you guys can just stay in the circle until I am finished. If you all are willing." she says excited.

"Sure." I smile at her.

"No problem." Hardin says.

"Are you sure you have enough experience on this?" Jake asked her. We a look at him then.

"Not really." she said slowly, but I was willing to try.

"Maybe ask you coven first. I heard witches need advice and approval for proper use of magic, especially when it involves other people who are witches." Jake said to her.

She thought for a moment, then smiled at Jake, "Thank you for that, I'll ask them after lunch. I'm so new to this supernatural world it'll take time to get used to everything, there's still so much to learn."

Frowning Jake asked, "So, I take it you just found out your a witch? No one told you? A witch is usually born, it just doesn't happen."

Now I really looked at Jake frowning at him, there's so much more that I don't know about him. How does he even know all this? Maybe he grew up with all this..

"Wow, I didn't even think. Well, I just found out days before Davina showed up, I didn't even know all my life. My parents never said anything to me at all. Actually they never really paid much attention to me unless I slacked off in school but that's it. Davina and Hardin knows how they are."

"Her parents are the richest people back home, The next richest is probably my family then Davina's, even if she doesn't own up to it, she's filthy rich, you see all the land they own." Hardin says.

Jake gives me a shy smile that melts my heart, "Yeah I noticed." he says.

"Emily's dad is Mayor of our town and top it off, he owns a few restaurants in most of the cities near by, and his wife owns a few jewelry stores. Their a true power couple, I'm just surprised her dad isn't a big politician by now." Hardin says, "My parents however, own a lot of land like Davina, but they have a thing for Breeding the best race horses and they also own the casino & club back home. My older brother Stef is the Manager of that establishment. My sister Heather is a lawyer and makes good money on her own and my younger brother Dave does his own thing, they let him."

"What were you suppose to be?" Jake asks him.

Hardin looks at me then, "I was suppose to be playing Pro Football and be married to Davina."

I swallowed hard as my heart picked up speed again, "Well but then he went missing." I looked away from both and ate some more.

"Yeah see? Our families are rich, that's all we know." Emily says, "Nothing indicates us being of supernatural."

"Zack was telling me his pack wasn't the only pack near by. He said one lives in the city, that means this city." Jake says.

"Yeah, so?" Hardin says.

"Well just thought yous should know." Jake says.

"Great, well, I'm all done. I'm sorry, for this but I need to go for a walk before training, I'll be in the backyard." I say getting up and leaving without a second glance.

Why is it when Jake is around more things just pop up? And what is he getting at? There he goes again getting under my skin. He knows so much. And when is this training happening? Wait, I shouldn't rush it, I know they'll tire me out. I began pacing in the back yard. What about my dad? Who was that woman he was with? How did I become the hybrid? Why me? and why do I have two mates? What am I supposed to do about that? As if my own feelings for them wasn't as confusing as this. I need a good long break from all this.. no. what I need are answers to all the questions. I didn't mean to be rude, it's just so much happening in such short time. I really wish I can see my horse and brush her for awhile. My mind would be more at ease. Dealing with so much right now is tiring me out. They day just started and I'm already stressed out.

Someone behind me cleared their throat. I turned and it was Jake, with his hands in his pockets. "What do you want?" I sat at him.

He said, "I'm here to help train you and help with any unanswered questions you may have."

Right, I forgot why he was here. "Okay well, let's sit at the picnic table for now, I actually do have questions."

We sat down across from eachother as we kept our eyes on eachother, I said, "Now, you can explain why you told me that you promise me you'll be honest and the first thing you do is not tell me about you being a werewolf?"

"It's just complicated." he says.

"What is?" I asked.

"This whole thing. Everything I told you except for what I am is the truth. I was asked and also then forced to submit to Zack into not telling you the truth of what I was. As a werewolf, there always have to be an Alpha, when you rule under the Alpha, it's hard sometimes to disobey them, even when you want to, especially when they use the Alpha voice on you that makes one submit. They were really set on you not finding out the truth. Which didn't make sense to me at all because you were surrounded by werewolves, probably your whole life." He shrugs.

"Well, okay you were forced. Fine. I'll forgive you for that one thing." I smiled at him and he just looked relieved, "What I don't get though why think I was human when my dad is clearly my dad."

"What do you mean? I'm missing something." he says.

I quickly catch him up on the whole locket thing my sister gave me and the short story of my existence my sister also told me and the agreement my sister and I made to confront our parents after my training.

"Your right that doesn't make sense why he'd agree to keep that away from you." Jake says putting his hand under his chin rubbing it in deep thought, "Another thing I also noticed, I also have a hunch that Emily's parents are not telling her something she needs to know. Also, Your boyfriend Hardin's parents seem to hide things from him as well. You all have that in common, when I hear all your stories, theirs holes in them. If you know what I mean." he says.

"Yeah, but that's for them now to find out for themselves when it's time for them. Another thing I wanted to know from you as well was, how do you know a lot of werewolf stuff and witch stuff too?" I ask him.

He smiled, "You know I'm from the big city almost 3 hours from here but 4 hours from where you live?"

"Yeah." I said.

"Well, I was in a wolf pack there and I was suppose to become and Alpha but I stepped back because I still wanted things for myself, I wanted to finish school and work, I wanted to experience life without all the city glories and hand outs I got. So, I left it to my younger brother, Calhoun, Well Cal. He's only a year younger than I, after long fights with my father, my mother stepped in and convinced my father that maybe I'd be back someday after I did what I wanted to do." He shrugged again and then sighed, "As for witches, my dad had an organization with them, They worked together in a firm my dad own back home, yes I'm probably the richest guy here but only by blood and title, just not here, I just want to be me. Anyway, back to the witches, I know so much because of my ex girlfriend Katy her name was, is.. Well, my dad actually planned for me to marry her to make the ties between us and the witches stronger. She got attached to me and I didn't mind back then because it made us look good, but when I moved out here, I realized how fake my life was and that I wasn't myself at all and that I didn't know how to be myself. When I saw you, I knew you were mine, it's reason why I wanted to work with you so much, I already felt the mate bond." he looked away shyly now.

"So, you knew and felt it first?" I asked.

"Yeah, I smelled you the first time I came in and was sad you hadn't noticed. I pleaded with Zack to let you know and I told him you were my mate, it's why they teased you so much, anyway, they wanted to wait for your birthday, it's something your dad wanted them to do, Zack and Alley were submitted by your father before he stepped down as Alpha and once that order is made it's hard to back out of, it literally causes us pain." he admitted. "So, instead I just wanted to show you how much I cared about you in my own way, I had to be creative as I've never had to work hard to get a girls attention before." he chuckled at that.

"Oh, that makes sense now." I laughed a little, "You were terrible at it." I pushed his shoulder playfully.

He smiled at me, "It makes me glad to be here with you, it was killing me to be away from you and I feel so much better with you knowing everything."

"Yeah it feels better too for me except, there's so much happening in such short time, I'm having difficulty just to get everything under control and to go slow at my own pace."

"Well your doing it right now." he suggested.

"I guess your right, it feels better talking to you about all my questions." I chuckle, "Okay so how does this training thing work? I mean, what are we suppose to do?" I asked him.

"Well, I'm trying to clear your mind by making you work out your frustrations and confusion by talking about them to me, plus it's helping me get to know you more." He grinned.

Oh my gosh he has the most gorgeous smile, I had to smile back at him and blush a little looking down I asked, "So, I assume you had s*x before?"

"Yes, only once though with Katy." he admitted.

"She took your virginity then?" I asked.

"Yes." he cleared his throat looking uncomfortable now.

"So, why only once?" I asked.

He scoffed and said, "Well, because I just wasn't interested after that one time, mostly because I wasn't attracted to her at all and plus my father also forbid it until we were married, which I was relieved."

I nodded my head and then he said, "What about you?" my eyes widened at him, "What? you can't just ask those questions without being asked about yourself as well."

I sighed and looked away from him, "I'm a virgin still, and I'm going to stay that way until I'm married." I said as matter fact.

"So, you never engaged in any foreplay and Oral s*x at least?" he asked me smiling.

"Umm." I sighed, "A few times before yes." I said.

"With who?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Come on, I told you who was with me." he teased. "Let me guess, Hardin?" he said seriously.

I nodded, "Yes, I did most of that stuff with Hardin and only him."

"I shouldn't be hurt or surprised by it, after all he was your first love and still is right?" he asked.

"It's complicated. I mean, I love him, he's been my best friend who always been there for me and knows me like the back of his hand and he-" I was cut off by him, "Okay yes, I get it." Frowning, "Well don't ask if it's going to get you mad. I care a great deal about you as well."

He looked at me surprised, "Oh really?"

"Yes, really." I rolled my eyes, "Okay enough of talk, let's train already."

I shook his head, "Can't, not until the sun goes down, we have to work on your shifting and we can't let anyone catch you shifting when they drive by."

Then I looked at him as I stand up and fold my arms, "Then what do we do then?"

"Not sure, We gotta figure out a place for us to sleep." he said.

"Right. Let's go." I lead the way back in the Hosur where Emily and Hardin were busy talking about the latest movies they watched and they stopped when we walked in. "Emily, Hardin and Jake need a place to stay."

"They are allowed to stay." she says playfully looking at me.

I roll my eyes, "Em you know what I mean."

"Why don't you just choose one, or just keep sleeping with Hardin and he can have the room across from yous." Emily gets up then heads to the kitchen.

"Emily!" I say and follow her and asked her, "What's gotten into you?"

She finally looked at me, "I'm not stupid, I know my parents are probably hiding something from me, something big. I was thinking of going to see them in awhile. I'm sorry I didn't mean to take it out on you." she says.

"By the way, I called my brother Dave over to come talk to me about a few things. He's the only one who tells me the truth in my family, I have a feeling their hiding something also." hardin said.

"Yeah, I also wish I can find someone to care about me as much as these two guys care about you, please be honest with them and fair, don't string them along for too long, you'll end up hurt, all of you. And please just choose who you want in your room tonight. Yous got to figure out this bond thing and leave me out of it. I don't like complicated relationships it causes too much problems." she says and then she adds, "I'm truly happy for you but sad at the same time because of the situation you have." Then she grabbed her purse and walked out.

Ouch. The part of my best friend I love so much is when she tells me straight and tells me how she really feels. Obviously she didn't care if the guys heard her as she spoke, I turned around and said, "well, there's only 3 rooms in this house, ones mine, ones Emily's and ones free for the taking. And of course the livingroom has no pull out couch just the one loveseat and armchair, soo." I said.

After I said that, Hardin and Jake started arguing for awhile on who gets to sleep in my bed with me, Hardin has been sleeping with me since he got here but before that Jake was sleeping in my room back home but on his own bed. They argued that they both wanted to spend more time with me. After about a minute of them arguing over who gets to sleep where tonight. The phone rings.

Saved by the phone, I used vampire speed to pick it up, "Hello?"

"Hi it's me." Alley says.

"Hi, so I'm guessing you have some news?" I asked her but before she can answer I said, "I'm putting you on speaker and, Alley, I mate bonded with both Hardin and Jake."

"Oh boy." she says.

"Do you know anything about being mated to both people?" I asked.

"Well, not really, it looks like more research for me. I do know that a mate bond that's made gets more final after the two mate and mark eachother on the shoulder. I know if someone was to reject or not want their mate, the mate bond can be broken by saying your full name and pack house name declaring you have officially reject them. A word to the wise. It's best not to break them because the person who gets rejected can fall into deep depression, some end their own lives. Also the one giving the rejection is physically in hurt for days at a time.. The other hurts mentally and the other giving hurts physically. Also the longer you go without mating and marking, The craving kicks in." she says.

"Craving? what's that?" I asked.

"Your body and heart will want it more than your willing." she said.

"Oh geez so what do I do?" I asked.

"For now, spend individual time with both for now until I can finish all the research. As for you being First Hybrid, there's been no other before you. Yes you will be powerful than both Werewolf and Vampire. As for birthing more like you, it's unknown everywhere." She said. "If people found out about you, they'll either be racing your way to take you down as others will think your an abomination, a threat to all kind. Others will want to use you, so be careful on who you tell or show who you are." Alley warned.

I looked at Hardin and he nodded his head firmly and I looked to Jake who just stared off out the window in the kitchen. "Okay will do, and I'll remind Emily."

"Another thing, I wanted to get Hardin and Jake to do something for me." They both turned to look at me curious.

Alley said, "I need you both to stay with her at all times, protect her until she's back home, maybe come home sooner rather than later, also, Try her out on Wolfsbane and Deadly Nightshade are the only plants that have any effect on werewolves and vampires. The only two things people make a cerium for and they inject it in our kind to put us to sleep and or paralyze us for hours depending on how much gets ejected."

Hardin, "Sure, I know where I can get some Wolfsbane and to make it."

I looked at him curiously, the. Jake nods, "I know how to make Deadly Nightshade Cerium."

"Great." Alley says, "I'll be in touch. I love you Davina."

"I love you." I say and we hung up. I really miss my horses.

"So, add that to my training." I laughed nervously. "Okay I guess that settles it, since Hardin slept with me, I'll sleep with Jake tonight and take turns from here on out until we get this sorted out okay and it's just sleeping, okay?" I looked at both men and they glared at eachother before smiling at me.

"Agreed." They both said at the same time.

"Alright, Let's get training." I clap my hands at them.

"First things first, grab bottles of water before heading out, and Best go take your clothes all off now and come out with a blanket." Jake says.

Hardin Growls, showing his fangs at him and I put my hand on his chest, "Relax, I can't keep shredding my clothes during shifting." I rolled my eyes.

He looked at me and said, "Fine, but tomorrow we hunt, because after all this shifting your going to be zapped."

I sighed, "Okay We'll make it quick."

"I'll be back in a bit, I have to make that Wolfsbane." Hardin kisses me on the forehead and runs out in vampire speed, which left me to be alone with Jake. Deep down, I couldn't help but be relieved. Frowning, I went to the room and undressed, then I wrapped myself up in a blanket and walked out to grab water bottles and I walked outside to meet Jake. I placed the water bottles on the ground and faced Jake.

"Now what?" I asked him tilting my head to the side.

"Now you remove your blanket and shift." he smirked at me.

I glared at him, this mate bond is something else.
