Chapter One Jenny "Sophie I'm not asking my dad and step mom for any money, they already have their mortgage to pay off, and I'm a grown ass woman I can find another way to get the money." I sighed as I flipped through the unemployment section in the newspaper, I know there's no other available job in New York but I've got to keep looking if I want to finish paying my student loans and my over-due rent. "Jenny you've been going through the papers for the past hour now, there's no Available job in New York. I don't even know why you quit working at the club anyways." Sophie sighed as she dipped her hand in the bowl of Doritos I had on my coffee table, she always called me by my whole name when she's frustrated with me. Sophie and I both worked at two different night clubs, I always refused to work in the same club as Sophie because she does more drinking and partying on her shift than when we go out to have fun. The only reason she still has her job is because she has s*x with the club owner, and the only reason she's still there is because apparently he's a good lay, I'm sorry but I'd rather work in a club without Sophie, so she wouldn’t try to get me to party with her every night and then sleep with the boss to keep from getting fired. "You know why I quit, you just don't agree with me, just because Brian is, and I quote, 's*x on legs & Drop your panties kind of guy' doesn't mean that if he calls me to an important "meeting" and when I get there he wants me to bend over the table so he can f**k me in my ass, in exchange for a promotion, doesn't mean that I'll be ok with that. I know he's hot and everything but I still have some kind of respect for myself." I sighed as she raised her eyebrow at me. "I'm sorry." I chucked as I raised my hands in defense. "Yeah, yeah whatever my self-respect flew out the window when I decided to have s*x with Charlie in the VIP room of the club while you were outside." She said as she checked her messages on her phone. "Charlie wants me to call him, it's probably because he wants me to come to work early to help set up for the auction later.....you should come by we can hang a bit before my shift." She said as she touched up her makeup, I never understood why Sophie even puts on makeup, her face was already Cover Girl ready 24/7 she had the same brunette hair as mine but hers had more volume, she had perfect rosy cheekbones, with plumped pink lips which were perfect and she had beauty to die for, blue-grey eyes and to top that off she had a model figure, which she isn't afraid of showing off every once in a while. She picked up her phone and dialed a number, which I'm assuming is Charlie. "Hey Charlie wassup.... I'm at Jenny's.... Yea I know today is the auction but what's so special about it..... Shut the f**k up one million for fresh meat...." She stared at me and begun smiling like a bimbo, I started laughing, what the hell was fresh meat? And why the hell was it selling for a million, this one I got to hear. She continued "so what's the deal? Who's gonna be there....What does Richard Galloway want there?... A whole year!! No wonder they're willing to pay all that money for fresh meat…. Alright I'll be there in ten, mind if I bring Jenny with me? Ok bye." She blew out a breath as she hung up and just kept looking at me. "Okay weirdo what the hell is fresh meat?" I asked as I dipped my hands into the bowl of Doritos. "It's for a monthly auction Charlie has." "Yeah what's up with that? You always mention this "auction" but you never told me about it." I asked. It's not like her to not tell me stuff so that was beyond weird. "Well that's where you come in, it's a umm…. Thing we do each month where girls who have financial problems, like yours, rent and student loans sign up to be auctioned off to filthy rich men for a certain amount of time for money to pay off their debt an...." "Wait isn't this illegal or something." "No. I don’t think so, not unless the person is willing I think....wait before you say anything else let me tell you how you come in, well I know you know who is Richard Galloway, that man doesn’t even need an intro, so here’s the thing he’s having some problems and he needs a girl that’s willing to live with him and be his girlfriend for a year.” She gets up to leave and I follow right behind her. “So what does this have to do with me and my problems?” I still don’t get it, why would someone like Richard Galloway pay for a girlfriend for a year? “Well I was thinking maybe...you can sign up for the auction, I know you won't do it but it's your last option, you know I would help you if I could but I'm barely pulling through with these jobs and I hate to see you looking so worried and stressed out Jenny." She said as we got into the car. We were startled by a knock on the window; it looked like the building's mail-man. I opened the door and got out the car. His eyes followed up and down my body, he made me feel uncomfortable in my white lace crop top and denim shorts. "Hey Ben, what can I do for yah?" I can tell it was something bad but I tried telling myself I was wrong. "The owner of the building told me to personally give you these two mails, I was about to bring it up to your apartment but I saw you leaving, so I thought I'd give it to you before you left." He handed me the mail, smiled and left. I got into the car; Sophie drove out of the parking lot. Sophie sighed as she spoke, "look I'm sorry for being on your case before but you know I worry about you a lot and I'm not so jolly about you selling your body to a total hot, sexy billionaire for a whole year, it's the only solution to this problem an-""f**k!!....This can't be happening….not today, why today??" This seriously can't be happening, an eviction notice. Seriously, and a freaking letter from NYU telling me I'm way overdue my payment process. "I think I'm gonna be sick, I can't find another place to live in seven days!! What the f**k am I going to do Sophie?" I huffed out I seriously can't find a place to live in seven days in Brooklyn. "Jenny calm down... When we get to the bar you can talk to Charlie about the auction and find out more about it, just promise me you'll keep an open mind about it okay?" I can't believe I'm actually going to consider this. What I'm going to tell my dad and step-mom? "Okay I'll keep an open mind since I just got an eviction notice and a letter from NYU." I sighed as I brought my head into my hands, I can't believe that I'm actually going to do this. The car came to a stop "hey girly we're here, don't worry drinks are on me." She smiled as she opened the door and got out of the car. I followed her as I brought my sunglasses down to my face, I didn't want Charlie to see me in a mess. Chapter Two Jenny “My darling, why have you been away from me for so long, my heart can only take so much distance." I spun around to be greeted by two strong arms warped around my body. It was Charlie, he reeked of cheap cologne and s*x, and I soon found it hard to breath. "Hey Charlie my heart can't take all this pressure on it. So unless you want a lifeless body warped around you in like five seconds I suggest you let me go", as soon as the words left my mouth he let go. "I'm sorry sweetheart but I was trying to make up for the lost time." He flash me a winning smile, every time I saw Charlie I'm always fighting the urge to ask him if he's related to David Beckham, I know it's kind of weird but he has the whole sexy Soccer player look down, and he always knew how to dress to impress, his blue shirt and baby blue striped tie matching his eye color. "Sorry to break it to you Charlie but I'm not your sweetheart and I will never be." I gave him my most apologetic smile. "Whatever you say girly, so what brings you here today?" He looked seriously interested in my answer. "Well Jenny's in some serious financial s**t, like nowhere to live in the next seven days an overdue loans kind of s**t so she came here for you to explain to her about the auction so she'll decide whether or not she wants to sign up. And don't worry she's fresh meat." His eyebrows shot up. "Well isn't today just full of surprises, hmm fresh meat huh? This one is gonna be good. Come on ladies follow me into my office." He led the way as Sophie followed him. "Will someone please explain to me what the hell is fresh meat" I ask as I tried to keep up. "Rarely used goods honey" Sophie threw over her shoulder as she begun to laugh. We came to a stop in front of a wooden door; Charlie opened it and I steeped in taking in my surroundings. Having seen the bar outside, the office was no surprise. Opulent, masculine, and sophisticated; the floor was polished wood, the furniture sparse but beautiful, and all of it looked almost too old for anyone to actually risk using. Everything Charlie could want was within reach, from a well-stocked bar to an end-suite to a small built-in wardrobe filled with pressed suits. I could probably have lived there and been relatively comfortable. "Please have a seat and make yourself comfortable." He said as he poured himself some Scotch. "So what do you want to know about the auction?" He asked as he sat on the edge of his desk. I dropped my head and begun to play with my nails as I spoke. "Well I want to have a full explanation on how it works and what are the do's and don'ts" I said as I raised my head to meet his eyes. "Well, all those are mandatory questions. Most of our clients are tycoons as you already know, most of them either have relationship or family problems which they need a female in the picture for whatever reason, others may want the ladies for business deals, whether it’s to impress another company or for business dinners. Tonight we’re switching thing up a little bit since Richard’s paying one million for a woman of his choice for one year. He specifically said that he did not want any escorts or any one with that kind of background, he also said that he wanted someone with self-respect and family oriented since that person will have to interact with his family on several occasions, do you follow?" He waited for my answer. "So if Richard decides to pick me what would be my living arrangements and the payment procedures?" Was I really going through with this? I could just feel my father's disappointment. I just have to suck it up, my dad doesn't have to know and I'll just make up a lie if he asked, it’s as simple as that. "As far as the payment's concerned that’s something you and Mr. Galloway will have to discuss, but I assume you'll be living together since you'll be acting as his girlfriend, and I hope you know s*x is required in this whole shindig right?" He chuckled "Well...umm, yeah I guess so." I blushed; I can't believe I'm going to be this man's s*x slave. I've only had s*x once and it was the worst night of my life, just thinking about it sent chills throughout my body. I guess all those therapy sessions didn't work as I thought it would. This is going to be a f*****g nightmare. "Well then I think that covers it, so know I've got to ask, what's your decision?" He asked as he poured himself another glass of Scotch. "Well I guess I've got nothing to lose at this point so I guess I'll do it." I said as I blew out the breath I was holding. Up until now I forgot Sophie was in the room, mostly because she hadn't said anything at all. "Hey Sophie what's up? You haven't spoken a word since we walked in here." Well this was strange considering this was her idea. "Well I just leave you two to talk, but before I go Jenny, the auction starts at nine so you'll need to go home and get some clothes just in case you get chosen and you'll also need to be wearing a bikini for the showing to show the buyers what they’re paying for. Don't worry if you don't get chosen by Mr. Galloway there are other reliable buyers tonight, the money might not be as big as this one but I'm sure it will be able to pay off your debts." He smiled and walked out the door. She didn't even wait until the door closed before she begun talking. "I know this was my idea that you do this but I don't think you should Jenny." I wasn't expecting that one, I've finally convinced myself to go through with this but the person who came up with the idea is having second thoughts. Humor me will you. "Sophie this was your idea to begin with and I don't have any other choice, I've applied for six jobs in the past two weeks and haven't gotten a call from any of them." Her eyes where glistering with tears as I spoke. "I know but it still feels wrong....something bad could happen like he could be a complete psycho or he could be controlling and stop you from seeing me and your mom and...and.." She sniffed, I could see the complete fear in her eyes. I knew this was dangerous and I'm scared completely shitless but I've got to do this. "Sophie. Like seriously you need to stop, I know it's probably the stupidest thing I've ever done and I'm going to regret this but I've got no other choice, besides if he tries to stop me from seeing anyone I'll just sneak out from there when he's sleeping and I'll change my name so he'll never find me." I said the last part with a smile trying to cheer her up. She smiled and got up from her seat to hug me. "Okay but if I don't hear from you tomorrow I'm going to hunt down whoever this sorry asshole is and put my Karv Maga lessons to good use." She smirked as she pulled away from our hug. "You know I took those classes too so I can go Karv Maga on his ass all by myself." I chuckled as I remember my dad telling me that Sophie and I had to take self-defense lessons if we wanted to move to Brooklyn by ourselves. "I know young grasshopper but hasn't anyone ever told you two is better than one?" She raised an eyebrow at me to prove her point. "I'm not even going to continue this conversation with you because I'll just end up wanting to get drunk to forget whatever you’re going to tell me, besides I've got to go home and pack a suitcase." I said as I pulled her out of Charlie's office. Chapter Three Richard "Mr. Galloway your mother's on line one." I heard my secretary Rachel call through the intercom. "Rachel can you tell my mother that I'm in a meeting", my meeting doesn't start for another fifteen minutes but I'm really not in the mood to talk to my mother. "umm... Sir your mother said she called your PA to find out your schedule and knows you have fifteen minutes free before your next meeting, and if you don't answer she'll come down to your office herself", she hesitated as she spoke. Rachel has been working for me for three years and even though she's interacted with my mother over the years, she's still afraid of the woman, I don't know what my mother does to them but I'm afraid to find out. "Okay Rachel put her through....and Rachel?" "Yes Sir?" "Don't let my mom scare you shitless, she's harmless." I said to reassure her. "Ummm sir...your mother doesn't scare me...you do...goodbye sir." She said as she ended our conversation. That's good I like to keep my employees on edge. "Richard darling it's not nice to lie to the person that gave birth to you." My mother’s sharp tone came through my speakers. "I know mother, I'm sorry, I just wanted to de-stress before my meeting." I sighed as I sat into my leather chair behind my desk. "You see son this is why you need a girlfriend in your life. Did you know that the right person would be willing to come into your office and give you a little touch up to help with that little 'de-stress' operation you’re on? And I'm not talking about a p********e or call girl, those women don't have an ounce of self-respect left in their body; it's all about fucki-" "Mom I don't ever want you to talk to me about a quickie in my office or f*****g a p********e or a call girl, it's just wrong, you're my mother you'll just tarnish my image of you." I sighed as I cut her off; I swear this woman thinks she is still twenty-six with no children. "Oh shush up son your twenty-eight years old we've all said it and done it. In fact did you know that your sister was the result of an office quickie with your dad? He was so eager, he didn't even bother to use protection he just bent me right-" "Mom would you please stop! If this is the reason for your call I'll have to gladly end it." I groaned, was she serious? This woman was going to give me nightmares for the rest of my life, no person doesn't need to hear about their parents s*x life. She laughed "I'm sorry dear, I just wanted to know what time are you coming to our(your father and I) anniversary dinner? I invited one of the ladies from my book club, she has a daughter; single and gorgeous, I thought you two might hit it off so she'll be here at six." I heard a hit of hopefulness as she spoke. I really have to do something, every time my mother tries to set me up it never works out and besides I don't want any relationship, women just come into your life to stress you out and take your money, the only thing they're good for is s*x. "Mother there's no need for that." I tried to reason with her before and it never worked. "But son you can't just stay single for the rest of your life, you'll just become all grumpy and depress, you need a wife and kids to keep you happy." She sounded sad on the phone, I hate lying to my mother but it's the only way to keep her happy. "Mother, you didn't let me finish, I'm seeing someone and I'm bringing her to the dinner so there's no need to hook me up on a blind date." "Really? Why didn't you say something sooner?" She sounded like she was smiling from ear to ear. I don't know how I'm getting myself out of this s**t, there's no way I'm going to find a woman to please my family in three days. "It was nothing serious the last time I talked to you, but it is now and she's been bugging me to meet you guys so I thought I’d bring her to the party." The lies just kept flowing through my mouth. I squeezed my nose bridge I was already feeling a headache coming on with all the lies. "Oh great I'm so excited this is going to be perfect, she already sounds amazing I can't wait to meet her." My mother rejoiced on the other end of the phone I could already see this conversation going in for an hour. "I've got to get ready for my next meeting I'll see you Saturday, goodbye mother." "Goodbye darling." And the line went dead. I passed my hand through my hair in frustration, then it hit me. f**k. I'm in some serious s**t. Chapter Four Richard At the end of my meeting I opened the door to my office and was greeted with the face of my best friend Sean on my couch with a smug look on his face. "What the f**k crawled up your ass man?" I asked as I placed my briefcase on my desk. "The question should be what the f**k died in yours, you look like a train ran over that pretty face of yours." He shifted in his seat with a laugh. I sighed as I sat in the edge of my desk and told him. "My mother called and she tried to hook me up with one of her friend’s daughter, and told me that I'll be meeting her at their anniversary dinner. "He looked at me like I was going crazy while he fixed his shirt. He was dressed casually in a pair of rugged jeans and a white shirt with his sleeves rolled up. "I still don't see what's the problem, your mom just found your next f**k for you, this time you don't have to have all these f*****g annoying interviews with contracts and NDA's. I don't know why you just don't do like me, my motto is 'f**k em' and leave em'." "You know I don't have time to go to clubs every night to find a woman to bring home with me so I can have s*x with her, and I really don't like explaining to them why "we" can't work out. It's better to have a contract where I know that when I'm tired of f*****g someone I can just call it quits without the emotional bullshit." "I still don't get it, you know you can't be seen with a woman for too long or she's a dead one, it's too dangerous but it's for your d***s benefits so I could care less." He chuckled as he got up from his seat and walked over to my mini bar at the corner of my office. "Sean I know this s**t, you don't have to keep telling me this every time, if I think something's not right I just end it and have security following her for some months, it's no big deal. Besides, no p***y is worth getting killed over." I stated as I loosened my tie and took off my jacket. "Words to live by, my friend", Sean got a glass and raised the bottle of scotch offering me some before he drinks it all. "Knock yourself out bro, I don't even know why you come here to drink all my liquor and get wasted when theirs a bar two blocks from here." I raised my eyebrow at him when he shrugged. "Why waste my time and money going to a bar when I can come here get good quality liquor and a conversation with my business partner, who by the way, almost got me killed last week by calling off my half of security and left me to fight off five f*****g jungle monkeys with a pistol and a f*****g pocket knife." He said as he walked back slowly to his seat with a glass and the bottle of Scotch in is hands. I bust out into a full hysterical rib hurting laugh. "Dude I can’t believe you peed on those motherfuckers.... I seriously can't breathe right now...... I have to admit I was expecting them to get a couple of punches in since you only had three bullets in that f*****g gun, and you used it to take out two guys..... Thank heavens that alley had cameras so I re-watch that s**t over and over again." My ribs were killing me, I tried holding my stomach to try and ease the pain but that didn’t help one bit. "Yeah, real funny bro, Hardy-Fuckin-Hard. I peed on those cocksuckers because I went into that alley to take a f*****g piss anyway, and they f*****g shot at my head when I was about to take a f*****g leak, I nearly piss the s**t outta myself." He was serious and that did it for me, I didn’t think I could laugh any more but I was wrong, this time it turned into gut wrenching pain. I kept reminding myself that I needed to stop and try to compose myself. "Alright dude I'm done. This conversation is done for today. My real problem isn't that my mother is trying to hook me up, it's the fact that I f*****g panicked and told her that I'm seeing someone and its serious and that I'm bringing her to their anniversary dinner." I said and stayed silent and let what I just said sink into his head. Three.Two.One. "What the f**k. What in God's name make you say that s**t for dude", he just went f*****g ballistic on my ass. "I don’t know man, that's why I need your help" I say matter-of-factly. "Why would I help your sorry ass after what you did to me last week?" He asked as he poured himself another glass. "Because I saved your life in Brazil, you just had to go and shove your d**k into everything that has a pussy." "Hey now, I didn’t know the red-head was the dealer’s fiancé, but you do have a point so don’t worry about it I'll make a call and you can swing by the club for this month's auction." Every month one of the clubs that Sean owns has a monthly auction to help gold-diggers get money to get out of whatever hole they f*****g dug themselves into. "Whatever dude, just no prostitutes or call girls, you know my mom likes to dig and if she finds out I brought a w***e into her house she'll have my f*****g head, and make sure she has a college degree or finished high school or something, she has to be able to impress my mom and be f*****g smart." I said as I got up and put my jacket back on, I have to hire more security if she's going to be around my family. "Okay man I've got this, I'll set you up since you saved my life, just get outta here I'm going to stay here and get wasted." He said as raised the now half empty bottle of Scotch. Sometime I wonder how I ended up with this motherfucker in my life.
