Callan looked over his shoulder at Hippolyta, who tilted her chin at him in agreement. They both knew that the moment could not be delayed much longer.
With enormous effort, they had managed to help Mashtuk climb to the tight pinch point in the entrance trail, just over halfway up the incline. Callan could see that here Zélie and Mudiwa had fought a desperate, ferocious battle, defending the narrow gateway from the devastating force of vulpini attackers.
