IF YOU CAN'T BEAT 'EM II

The breast gathered broken ballista and trebuchets at the entrance of the castle, they set blade on it which caused the whole energy barrier to started sparking. Cazi ordered them for more and they rolled barrels of rum all round the the building; Cazi gave orders and the archers among Minotaurs fired arrows on it while the other beast threw flaming torches which caused the building to erupted in more flames.

Lydia was soliloquising in the attic abandoning her meal, she paced to and fro asking herself;

"why didn't I think this through?, why didn't I consider it reactions with fire when I was creating the shield?"

Agar asked him;

"is that bad?"

Lydia spun and responded;

"It's bad; very bad. if the shield reached it's tolerance limit to the flames; it will explode causing more damages than those beasts will ever caused"

Agar suddenly asked;

"Beast? wait; is that what you and Lord Darca call us?"

Lydia was a little bit surprised but she pretended not to say;

"We are talking about serious issues, too serious for you to interfere with what we think of you. but hold on; what other beast feast on live prey if not a beast?"

The talk of live prey reminded Agar about Lydia's meal, he walked to it and picked up a piece and asked Lydia;

"is this pheasant?"

Lydia turned and used her powers to pin him at the wall, she rushed and carried her meal and asked Agar to stay away from her food. Pinning Agar on the wall gave him an idea, he asked Lydia to use her power on their opponents. Lydia tried but her powers failed her, she then told Agar;

"The shield does not only prevent magic and attacks to our wall; it also prevents magic and attacks from us to outside our walls. if we must fight them; we must remove the energy barrier"

Immediately, an explosion that shook the building occurred, Lydia knew she has to do something. She unpinned Agar from the wall, she asked him to protect the Mystical chamber at all cost. She covered her face with her hood, grabbed her staff and walked towards the exit. She turned and said;

"guard this room with your life; no one should get in or out. And most importantly; don't touch me pheasant"

Immediately she said this; her eyes glowed and thunder rumbling was heard.

immediately she left; Agar walked towards the meat and picked one up and said;

"what can she do?; I'm not afraid"

He hesitated after he recalled the look on her face when she told her not to touched her meal, he dropped it back and said;

"maybe I should just wait for her".

The beasts were hauling stones and fireballs when suddenly; the shield went off. Cazi ordered his men to attacked the castle, the minotaurs roared and charged entering the castle; suddenly, they were all blown out from the castle.

Lydia walked out from the castle with her cloak and hood on and her staff on her left hand. She stomp the staff on the ground and lightening struck in the midst of the minotaurs scattering them in different directions. Three Minotaurs dashed towards her but she pointed her staff at the and wave of energy blew them away. five other Minotaurs headed her way. She hit her staff on the floor and the ground shook and launched upwards knocking the Minotaurs out. Cazi commanded his men to attacked at one, the all rushed to her but she started spinning her staff in air which created wind energy that blew all of them away.

Cazi launched his hammer at her but she stopped the hammer in mid air hanging it there. She dashed out towards Cazi with superspeed that Cazi didn't she her coming. She stabbed Cazi with the tip of her staff and that threw Cazi distance away from her. She started releasing fireballs from her staff and Cazi's men have to take cover.

Cazi got up and was rushing to attacked her but she noticed and pointed her staff to a trebuchet, she used telekinesis to lift the trebuchet and crashed it with Cazi. Cazi leapt on his feet and pulled the giant chain from the trebuchet, she launched the chain which got Lydia by the neck; she pulled her towards him and used her prosthetic hand to slashed her while she fell to the ground. He kicked her on the belly throwing her some distance from him.

Lydia leapt on her feet and tried to use her staff but Cazi used the chain to pull her off her staff, He dashed close to her and punched her in the face while she fell to the ground distance away from Cazi and bleeding from both nose and mouth.

Cazi tried to approach her but she raised up her hand which created a strong force opposing Cazi's movement. Cazi struggled to reach her and stabbed her by the torso. she stretched her hands and her staff flew to her but Cazi caught the staff before her. He then raised her blade prosthetic hand to stabbed her but a troll from Darca's army jumped in and took the stab. Cazi flung the troll a way and tried to stabbed her again but Agar commanded his army and they opened fire on the Minotaurs using their crossbows. Lydia seized the opportunity to disappeared and after sometime; she reappeared with her staff.

She stomp the staff twice on the fall and the ground shook causing all the beasts to fall to the floor. She dashed towards Cazi and used telekinesis to lift him up in the air; she summoned lightening which struck Cazi till he was smelling burnt. Cazi stood and roared weakly; She fired her with another thunder strike.

Cazi stood from the ground and Lydia release another thunder. it continued till Cazi couldn't move. He stood up and was staggering about heading towards Lydia; suddenly, he was stabbed from the back while he fell to the ground. Zuma walked right in front of him and pulled his sword. Cazi asked him in their beasty language;

"even you?"

He also replied Cazi in their language;

"A true warrior should know when to fight and when to retreat, you were leading to annihilation. And it's about time someone take the mantle"

The Minotaur yelled;

"you traitor, you won't get away with this";

Zuma smirked and replied;

"I already did; it's about time we form alliance with Darca. you know the saying: when you can't beat them; you joined them".

He used his sword to chopped off the head of the minotaur.

Lydia was being taken in with a stretcher, he was yelling for Agar, Agar showed up and she asked;

"is my pheasant safe"

Agar responded positively and she calmed down and said;

"as long as the pheasant is okay; nothing can ever go wrong".
