“Come on, Selina, please eat.” Selina shook her head, sticking a thumb in her mouth as I tried to persuade her to eat some cereal.
“Ba ba!”
“You can’t have the bottle. You’re a big girl, remember?”
“No! Not the mama!” A chubby hand swatted the spoon, splashing milk and cereal onto the wall.
“I want mama!” Miguelito threw his bowl of cereal to the ground.
“She’ll be back soon.” Grabbing a dishtowel, I got on my knees to wipe up the mess. “Dad’s with her.”
“I want her now!” he shrieked.
