Luna’s Point of View I sit on the edge of my bed, phone in my hand, staring at the screen for a second before I finally press call. It rings once. Twice. Then— “Luna.” His voice is steady, calm as always. “Hi, Dad.” There’s a small pause. “You don’t usually call unless you need something.” I roll my eyes slightly. “Wow. Straight to the point.” “I’m busy,” he replies. “What is it?” I take a breath. “I’m coming home for the holidays.” “I assumed as much.” “And…” I hesitate for half a second. “I’m bringing someone with me.” Silence.
