Prologue
The Hallway was long and white, white walls, white floor, stark white, exuding complete sterility.
A young lass raced recklessly down the corridor, taking three stairs at a time, she stumbled a little, righting herself, she ran faster this time taking the skipping four stairs.
Her swift footsteps brought her down the long hall where the white sterility ended in a mass of darkness, from floor to ceiling, wall to wall.
She ran harder in the silent darkness, silent night, breaking silvery silence with noisy footsteps.
So many thoughts were running through her mind, her head was pounding fiercely, her heart kept leaping, beating so fast and about to wrench out of get chest, desperately gasping air she raced on,harder, faster, swifter.
She made it successfully to the giant door without much stumbling and wrenched at the door knob. Cool air wickedly slapped her face with dexterity, she stumbled again.
It seem everything and everyone was against her,she thought pushing stray lock of tender hair out of her face. She felt her cheek,it was dampvwith tears, her tears.
With a sob she slammed the door, the piercing sound from the door sent a shooting pain to her heart, like being stabbed in the heart. She placed her hand on the chest and fled, not minding the pain in her heart,on her bruised feet.
The more the pain, the harder she ran away from the death scene.
The death she had caused by her foolishness, she shouldn't have done it,shouldn't have.
"Oh God, no!!" She whispered feeling more tears run down her cheeks, more stabbing pain in the heart, more powerfulpounds that is able to split a rock in the head.
She couldn't bear it anymore. Life was brutal, vicious, despicable, capable of making one miserable, capable of wickedness.
But she had no choice ,she mustn't get caught,no she mustn't. If she get caught then all her fairytale dreams will be obliterated, shattered in shreds.
She didn't know how long she had been sprinting, she didn't care ,so long as it was away from the 'death scene'.
She couldn't feel her legs, couldn't feel anything, her heart was numb ,weary, knackered, but she couldn't give in to the wariness.
She kept dashing on to freedom, away from the 'death scene',the death she had caused, yes she has killed someone, not just anyone but her mother, her very own mother.

His office was dark ,stark dark, one could barely see a thing, the only brightness was from the dimly lighted lamb on a stool by the wall. He loved darkness, cherished it, loved the overwhelming sensation it brings, it sated and gratified him immensely.
Darryn Steele leaned back into his chair, his long fingers ldly brushing his chin as he thought on.
About the past, the dark past that brought satisfying darkness into his life, the unforgettable past that.......
He started as the knock on the door brought him out of his reverie, he lifted his head to face the door and cracked a knowing smile, he knew who it was.
Andy his best friend and patner slowly opened the door and peeked, grinning slightly with his left brow lifted.
"Still walking in darkness?" He said ,coming in and closing the door behind him,he walked to Darryn's table with hands in his pockets.
"All done" Darryn replied rising to put away files and rounded the mahogany desk to stand before Andy.
Both men were tall, broad and muscled, their suits enhancing suavely trimmed shoulders, but Darryn had this rakish boyish look that made him more appealing and devourable, when ever he smiled, but he hardly smiled.
"Going to the club or what?" Andy added, breaking the silence as he strode to sit on a couch and crossed his legs.
"No thanks,will pass"
"You, my friend need to live a little....."
"Let loose ,you are too uptight" Darryn finished dryly rounding the table to take his portfolio.
"I get it I'm a boor, but you can go on,enjoy your self drink till you get plastered, but don't you dare call for help when you wake with a hangover, cos you won't get any from me"
"I won't" Andy sang as he stood up and walked out.
Darryn shook his head and sighed in feigned frustration. His friend was like a hundred, he had an affinity for parties, club and girls,hr changed girlfriends like everyday.
Darryn glanced at the clock,it was 9:45 already, he was late as usual. He would have stayed longer, perhaps pass another night here in the office ,but the bed here was not as wide and comfy as the one in his condo, and he was ......anxious? For something or maybe someone,he couldn't fathom the feeling but he could feel it,his instinct was wild and Pricky.
He walked our with portfolio and keys in hand, took the elevator and walked to the parking lot,he unlocked his car,got in and started for home,'home' the word felt weird on his lips like a sore wine.
Ever since his mother's flight away from his father and him for another man, home wasn't home again. He was three then, tender and naive, he couldn't understand why a mother would abandon her own child. He couldn't remember what happened that night, but his countless nightmares ever since was a reminder. He still felt the pain, depression after twenty-five years.
The pain seems sharper, more painful, like a wound that is reopened after barely healing.
He gripped the wheel harder, tighter almost ripping it off, he was blinded by anger.he always felt this way each time he thought about the past, the past seem to bring reignited pain with dexterity, blinding him like a combustion.
He squinted as the traffic light turned red. He didn't even know when he got here, the street was dark and calm lited by the street lights.
He muttered a curse as he glanced at the traffic light again, willing it to turn green,it did.
He drove away glancing at his wrist watch,it was 10:05 already, how long has he been driving?
He quickly manoeuvred to the next block that led to his condo without caution and saw a silhouette of something or someone?running into his car,he instinctively stepped on the brake as the car came to a stop scarcely hitting the running silhouette.
He hastenly unbuckled his seat belt and bursted out of his car to meet the now somber silhouette. The silhouette which is a masse was fazed her eyes were wild ,her hair ruffled but appealing, her clothes were ragged, she looked pale and freckled and .....innocent.
"Are you okay?" He finally found his voice, but instead of a reply she slumped almost falling to the floor, but Darryn caught her as she fell to his arms.she was cold, terribly cold.
Darryn looked closely at the woman in his arms, she was small, really small, her face oval shaped was bruised, her neck long, slim, slender and regal. Her face belonged on a statue-one of those ancient Greek goddess dirty and bruised but exquisitely shaped and molded with fine cheekbone, a straight nose, perfect lips, full and cut. She was not like an angel but an angel in the flesh. The more he looked the more he was fascinated, he wanted his lips to her hers.
He started as he felt her shiver, she was cold, freezing cold and her cloth was not helping it was wet too. He quickly rised with her in his arms ,walked to his car and put her at the back seat using his suit as a blanket, she stirred slightly.
He got back to the driver's seat and started the car, taking quick glances her way every nanosecond.
He couldn't stop pondering of what such an enchanting angel was running from, running to. He was taking her home, his home.
