CHAPTER 005
Mattias Jupiter’s Point of View
The rejection came to me entirely unplanned when I found myself having to push away Amélie. Élise’s situation developed immediately,, making action imperative. Without my intervention,, their relationship would have descended into complete disorder.
I couldn’t have anticipated the emotional impact of rejection that would wreck me this way. My chest discovers twin forces, one collapsing inward while the other pushes outward with fierce intensity. My veins experience a battle between fire and ice that burns and freezes my entire body.
Ray’s furious. His guttural howls penetrate my thoughts,, reaching levels that I have never witnessed before. His rage and anguish attack me from within as he claws at my mind without stopping.
I focus on pushing him from my thoughts while holding onto my desk for balance. Though the pain feels impossible to endure, I continue to focus on the reason behind my decision. The pack needs this decision to succeed. It has to be.
Ray doesn’t agree.
The intensity of his growls increases until they sound like a tempest inside my mind.
“Why would you reject her?” His voice explodes with poisonous intensity.
I don’t respond. What’s the point? Ray has always shown primal and emotional behavior, yet he needs to learn this lesson. He has to.
It’s not about me. This decision must serve the pack’s requirements.
I need permission to exit the pack.
Her soft voice floods my imagination, which rings more delicate than ever before. Her eyes avoided mine as she spoke those words. She remained motionless while her gaze fixed on the floor as she pleaded to depart.
Leave the pack.
Leave me.
The burning sensation in my chest grows fiercer now.
“Alpha King?”
Her gentle speech slices through my swirling thoughts.
My eyes meet hers with unintended severity, which causes her to flinch before she regains her composure.
She tells me with a voice dripping with sweetness that this decision belongs to me. “But if I may…”
She showed hesitation until I gave her permission to proceed. I nod for her to continue.
Every wolf possesses some positive qualities, according to my belief. Her smile appears before she pushes back a strand of her vibrant red hair while it presses against her ear. Your Beta demonstrated her skills by creating a beautiful proposal. Perhaps she could—”
She pauses, her smile widening. Would you allow Amélie to plan the wedding as a gift to me? I’ll oversee her, of course. Not using her creative designs for such an important occasion would really be wasteful.
Her words surprise me. Élise continues to show Amélie mercy despite her prior disrespectful actions and continuous defiance toward me.
Such kindness.
Such compassion.
Her behavior reflects everything a Luna should perfectly exhibit.
I give a slow nod as I think about her proposal. Among all the Betas I know, Amélie stands out as the most competent one. My father recognized her abilities enough to promote her even though she came from humble beginnings. She’s efficient and meticulous. She would find wedding planning to be a simple task.
She owes this to us because she requested permission to leave. The pack has supported her so much that she should return this favor.
"We've finally reached a resolution," I declare. I have decided that Amélie will work on planning our wedding. She will receive permission to depart Pack SombreLowLand after completing her task.
As she looks at me, she beams because her eyes show deep respect. She’ll be a perfect Luna.
Amélie’s face shows no emotion when I look at her.
Her eyes pass through me while her face shows no emotional expression. It’s unsettling.
“Go,” I order her. “Start immediately.”
She moves away silently without saying anything.
As soon as she leaves, the intense burning sensation in my chest intensifies once more, spreading through me as if it were a wildfire..
Élise gently reminds us about our hospital appointment this afternoon; her voice stays light. She touches her stomach while smiling. All this stress must affect the baby, but I remain confident that everything will turn out okay..
My head moves mechanically as my mind wanders away from our discussion. “I’ll be there. Don’t worry about anything.”
The moment Élise exits the building, her absence takes me straight into solitude within my office space. The silence is deafening.
“Alpha King.”
My eyes lift to find Laurent standing in the doorway.
He immediately understands there's an issue when he sees my face.
He asks me what’s troubling me while speaking with caution.
I respond with a grunt because I can't trust myself to speak.
Laurent pauses briefly before exiting, which leaves me alone with my desk full of paperwork.
I should be happy. My relationship leads toward marriage with a noble she-wolf hovering between beauty and majesty. The pack gets the long-awaited Luna now that she's here. Everything is falling into place.
I can’t understand why I feel incomplete despite everything being perfect.

Amélie Jakob’s Point of View
“Good news, sweetheart! The twin babies are perfectly healthy.”
While smiling, she takes off her gloves, making my worries fade away.
A breath escapes my lungs that I hadn’t noticed I was holding. My sense of relief sweeps over me in a powerful motion.
I headed directly to the hospital after all the events that took place at work. The grief of losing my mate connection broke my heart, yet securing my baby's well-being remained my top priority.
I received unexpected joy from seeing my best friend Clara arrive. The pregnancy remains a secret between us because I trust her completely.
With a playful spark in her eyes,, Clara announces, “I still remember some curses that pop into my mind. I had the ability to add something to his tea whenever I wanted.
I laugh, despite everything. The idea sounds tempting, but I can’t take any chances with your safety.
She rolls her shoulders, a playful grin accompanying her smile. “Your loss.”
Then her expression turns serious. What information do you have about Élise?
“Not much,” I admit. The proposal was my first encounter with her existence. There’s an unsettling feeling about her that I can’t quite place.
Clara nods thoughtfully. “She’s famous in Pack SanguineLune. She is the sole daughter in a family consisting of six brothers. According to what I’ve heard, they first encountered each other when they were pups. She rescued him when he was young, and that story is well-known.
I blink, processing her words.
She stands alone as the princess in this Alpha family. It makes sense they’d choose her for Luna,” I say with a bitter edge to my voice.
Clara gently wipes away my tear with her thumb while saying, "Sweetheart." “Don’t do this to yourself. Perhaps this is exactly the opportunity you need to establish new beginnings. Who knows? Is there a red-haired wolf pack somewhere in the world hoping to welcome you?
Her words trigger laughter in me, which makes me feel momentarily weightless.
I joke that things couldn't possibly get any worse.
As I exit the exam room, I almost bump into a tall man.
He speaks with a deep, smooth voice as he says, "Excuse me." Can you point me towards Élise Margaux’s location?
My eyes dart upward to meet his gaze, ready to speak, but something within me freezes their flow, preventing me from forming coherent words..
His hair… His hair matches mine with its fiery red color.
At that moment we both become aware of it.
He asks me, "Who are you?" while his hand softly holds mine.
His face shows familiar traits through its sharp jawline and piercing eyes. The Alpha aura he emits was unmistakable in every detail.
Realization dawns on me.
This must be Élise’s brother. The Alpha King of Pack SanguineLune.
A deep, furious voice interrupts me before I can speak.
“What’s this?”
Mattias stands just a few feet away from me with eyes that burn with rage.
He growls "Amélie" with a voice that sounds both low and threatening.
What actions are you taking with him?
