Elena’s POV. Two months had passed since the High Council clause Evelyn threw at us shattered whatever temporary peace Raymond and I rebuilt on that mountain. Christmas was two days away. I had thrown myself into work at Moon Pack Central Hospital with the same relentless focus I once used to survive medical school and the human world. Charts. Rounds. Procedures.
