Elena’s POV. I unlocked the bathroom door with a sharp flick of my wrist, yanked it open, and stepped out. Raymond immediately scrambled to his feet from the bedroom rug, looking at me with tentative hope. I didn’t even acknowledge his presence. I brushed right past him, walked out of the suite, and headed downstairs toward the main dining room, desperate for food and a distraction. The dining table was already set for dinner. I sat down at one of the chairs near the end, pulling a plate toward me and picking mindlessly at a bowl of roasted vegetables and pasta.
