ROGER OPENED THE car door and looked out at their accommodation. If it had been anybody else other than Judy that he was sharing a room with he would have cancelled the booking straight away. However, he didn’t want to be seen making a fuss.
“Where did you find this place?”
“On the Internet. It’s cheap and cheerful.”
“It’s cheap all right; look at the state of it! All the paint’s peeling on the window frames.” Roger frowned at the noise of barking dogs and a screaming child coming from the house on the opposite side of the road.
“It’s only for one night. Come on, let’s go inside.”
“I hope I can still see the car from the bedroom window.”
“It’s not that bad. Stop moaning.”
