CHAPTER 16 “CAN YOU MAKE it a tenner instead, Mum? I’ve got to babysit two of them.” Brian pushed his luck and wondered whether his mother would give in. She seemed to be in a good mood lately. “Haven’t you just been paid?” Judy fished in her purse for a ten-pound note. There was only one left, and she handed it over reluctantly to her eldest son. “Great. Thanks Mum.” Brian took the note quickly before his mother changed her mind. “I’m still only an apprentice.
