Blurb

In a room full of people who only saw his title, Caspian had his hands pressed against the cold glass of the executive office window, and Darren’s hands pressed firmly over his.

‘'If someone walks in'’ Caspian gasped, his voice breaking as Darren leaned in, breath warm against the shell of his ear.

'‘Let them,'' Darren murmured, pulling him closer.

‘'You’ve spent your whole life being what they want. Let me have five minutes of what’s mine.'’

Darren has no time for rich kids. Juggling three part-time jobs while grinding for his future, he views Caspian as everything he despises, a golden-boy heir who glides through life on tailored suits, endless wealth, and family influence...

Caspian has no room for himself. Trapped in a gilded cage and suffocating under his family’s ruthless corporate expectations, he lives a life completely scripted by others. But when a high-stakes campus project forces them into the same quiet corners at 2 AM, Caspian finds the one person who refuses to bow to his title, and Darren finds the one person he can’t stop thinking about. What begins as reluctant late-night study sessions devolves into a fierce, unspoken obsession.

But when graduation shifts their dynamic from campus partners to boss and secret employee inside a cutthroat conglomerate, the line between power and passion completely blurs.

Between stolen touch in private elevators, late-night overtime in locked offices, and a family determined to arrange Caspian’s future, their secret affair becomes their most dangerous gamble. He built a cage to survive his family.

Darren is the only one who knows how to break him open.

Prologue
Late nights on the 42nd floor of the Vance-Vane tower didn't come with soft endings. The rain slammed against the floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the city skyline, casting amber and blue city lights across the dark mahogany desk. Outside, the world was a blur of traffic and towering skyscrapers. Inside, the air was thick, heavy with the sharp scent of expensive cologne, faint rain, and a dangerous, unspoken tension that had been building for months. Caspian sat in his high-backed leather chair, his tailored suit jacket long discarded, vest still impeccably pressed. To the board, to the media, to his father, he was the gilded heir. Impenetrable, Flawless, Cold. Except right now. Darren stood over him, leaning down into Caspian’s space with a reckless, casual power that money couldn’t buy. Him alone was a stark, warm contrast to the sterile executive suite. Glasses caught the dim glow of the city lights as a small, sharp smirk played on his lips, sexy, dominant, and entirely unbothered by Caspian's status. Without breaking eye contact, Darren reached out, his fingers sliding around the silk of Caspian’s neck tie, giving it a light, commanding tug. Caspian didn't pull away. He couldn't. Instead, Caspian let his head tilt downward, leaning his forehead softly into the crook of Darren’s neck. It was a complete, breathless surrender. The untouchable heir looked completely bossy in his submission, letting his eyes close as he breathed in the scent of rain and coffee off Darren's skin. Caspian’s hand reached out instinctively behind him, settling against Darren’s waist, holding him thereanchoring them together in the storm. "You look far too composed for someone whose world is about to fall apart," Darren murmured, his voice low, vibrating right against Caspian’s ear. Caspian’s fingers tightened on Darren’s waist, his voice a quiet, breathless whisper against his skin. "Then shatter it." They both knew how this game began: a forced pairing in a crowded lecture hall, sharp glances across dusty desks, and two men who hated how much they needed each other. But that was before, but this was now. And in this room, behind locked doors high above the city, Caspian was entirely in his line of sight.
