Chapter Four Elsie remained motionless, shock racing through her at Caidon's words, a peppery citrus scent filling her senses. She struggled against the doonah, sitting up in the darkness. It took her a few seconds for her eyes to adjust to the faint light coming through her window from a streetlight that was across the road and in front of the next house down. She was in her bed.
