Chapter Three After the meal, Elsie and Marinda silently cleaned up the kitchen together, the two of them in Elsie's room talking when her mum came home, checking on them. They both decided to have an early night, Elsie warning Marinda not to record her as she set up a mattress on the floor for her friend. Marinda grinned, not replying even when Elsie warned her once again to not even think about it. Sighing, Elsie tried to get comfortable, tossing and turning as she attempted to sleep. At once stage she became tangled in the sheet and she was tempted to throw the bed linen off or even push it onto the floor. She woke to a torch shining in her face and Marinda gripping her shoulder as she shook her awake. She brushed the torch aside, squinting up at her friend. "What's wrong?" She kept
