In The Woods

I live in a 2-story cabin on the edge of the woods. As I finish cooking up some dinner I start to hear strange noises outside. I look out the window but I don't see anything, although the window is a little blurry. It's raining, and I see lightning and thunder so I just go back to cooking thinking nothing of what I just heard. Suddenly I hear a faint scream come from the woods! I grab a flashlight and my 9mm. As I walk out the door I hear the faint scream again but it sounded closer. I walk to the edge of the woods and shine my flashlight. I don't see anything so I go to the other side of the house to look around. When I shine the light I see a human figure run across the woods. I hear the sceam again but it's closer this time. "Hello, Is anyone out there?" I question but I get no response. "Hey, I just saw you run across I kn...." I'm interrupted by a loud shriek from behind me. I whip around and I see this 7 foot creature but it walks just like us humans. It lunges at me but I quickly grab my 9mm off my side and I shoot it until it drops. I hurry and run inside as it starts to stand again. I lock all the doors and windows but when I look to see if it's still there it has disappeared. I eat and stay up for 3 more hours to assure I'm good. I don't hear anymore sounds the rest of the night. I drift off to sleep listening closely.
