Isa’s POV Lumis stood over me as I trembled on the medical table below him. Even his attempts to calm me with his touch did little to ease me. I was frightened as he held the large metal syringe in his hands. “Now,” he said, his voice barely more than a whisper. “I’m going to need to take that collar off, but don’t think about using those powers now. I’ve already seen to that.” He motioned to the straps that had been placed around my arms and ankles, holding me in place under the blue sheet. He nodded to the guard across from him, who turned my head aside. The man quickly undid the collar, pulling it from me and setting it on the tray next to him.
