Isa’s POV I had not seen Lumis since the early morning, receiving only a simple note card from him at breakfast along with a dozen roses. The card said he would be in Council chambers in Virginia most of the day, but he would be back at nightfall. Just before breakfast, I’d heard the sound of a helicopter outside, though when I looked out the window I could not see one and assumed the sound had come from the front lawn. And I relaxed in my chair, sure he must have left already.
