Nikolai’s POV
It would be an entire day and night before Julius would return to our cell. He came stumbling in late Tuesday morning and we were sure to put on an air of hostility as the guards shut the door. It wasn’t until they were safely down the hall and had disappeared from view that we turned it off.
Julius looked over at me nervously as he asked, “Did it work? Tell me it worked… When someone tells you ‘let’s start a fight’, man, you really don’t hold back punches.”
I almost chuckled at his comment, but that might giveaway that I rather enjoyed the clobbering that I gave him before the guards came for him. Instead, I just smiled and nodded, “I had her for a minute there. It looks like if we get above the basement level at all we can link her… but only if it’s overnight.”
