Voridian I couldn’t sleep after we returned. I paced around my room for a moment and then headed outside to stare at the moon. I didn’t know how long I had been standing there, but it wasn’t the moon I was staring at. I was thinking of something else. “Are you alright?” a voice sounded beside me, dragging their feet on the ground as they headed towards me. I hated that I had to hear that, but I already knew who it was. Torin. Except that I wasn’t expecting him outside the mansion. “What are you doing outside?” he asked. I heaved a deep sigh and looked at him for a moment, then I stared back at the moon. Even if I told him what was happening to me, he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it, because after all, this shouldn’t have happened in the first place—and Torin hated my guts. H
