Red wine – and lots of it – chick-flick movies, and Chinese takeout from Mr Lee’s was what made up the evening for McCall and her best friend, Medical Examiner Tina Franks. They had both had a hard day – a hard week if truth be told. Now it was girls’ night. McCall wasn’t on call, so they had the night free – or they hoped. McCall enjoyed these little get-togethers she and Franks did whenever they could. McCall and Franks had been friends for years, ever since McCall had gotten to the 11th in fact. McCall had always been at the 11th. She thought it was because of her dad because he had been a detective at that precinct before he’d been shot during the line of duty. Those were big shoes she had to fill, but McCall thought she hadn’t done too bad so far.
“So, who’s it gonna be first?”
