“Who are you?” She asked, trying to stand up but he shook his head and pushed her back to the bench, gently. Something about his hands and the way he touched her struck a chord of desire within her. “I am not your enemy and I am certainly not one you should fear,” she replied with a smile. “Just like you, I am just here, trying to clear my head.” Ashina felt comfort slip into her gradually and she found her once agitated nerves, calming down. “What's your own story?” The stranger asked, rubbing her extended palm. “Mine is, I was betrayed by my lover.” He seemed so friendly and his voice was heavily attractive. Ashina felt her feet shaking with a sudden desire to get under his skin and feel every inch of his body against hers. “I don't tell strangers things about me,” she replied and looked away from his endearing gaze, whilst allowing his gentle strokes on her palm. “Are you from Wind Winder?” He asked, leaning in closer to her. Ashina felt edgy but didn't move away. His breath smelt like freshwater and his cologne was enchanting. She wanted to be kissed and touched by this stranger. Her body had wanted things for so long but George was not giving her that satisfaction. “The man is fire,” Myra, her Wolf, whispered in her mind and she shut her eyes tightly, trying to shrug off the thoughts. “Am I bothering you, ma'am?” He asked, pulling his hand away. “I just find you alluring. Such a breath of fresh air.” Ashina opened her eyes and looked into his eyes again. The moon was shining above them but its light was dim and she could barely make out his face or features but she could see his lips part seductively and their gazes were stuck for a while. “Why is it so easy to talk with you?” He asked, pulling her face close to his and taking her lips in a captivating kiss. Ashina did not fight back. At that moment, her mind was bereft of the thoughts that he was a stranger and she had no idea who he was. All she could think about was satiating the intense longing she had for him. They moaned under each other's breath as they explored their bodies and passionately made love that night. The stranger marked her when she was most unaware and Ashina knew what they meant, she was his. She fell deeply asleep and lost consciousness till the first light of dawn smacked her face and she I Her eyes quickly fell open. “Damn! I slept like a log!” She exclaimed as she gathered herself and raced back to the palace, afraid of being caught as she sneaked back into her bedroom. “The stranger….” She whispered to herself, surprised that she was fully dressed and even had a jacket over her body. He left her there and covered her up to keep her warm before disappearing into the wee hours of the morning. The thoughts of his touch and his kisses and the love they made, caused Ashina to feel that warmth in between her legs. She was smitten by him but she neither got his name nor did she see his face so well. “I wonder if we will ever get to see each other again.” Ashina was able to get herself back into the palace without being noticed. She had barely settled in her room when a knock came on her door. “Alpha George demands your presence,Miss Ashina.” That was one of the maids, Choral. She and Choral were suffering the same predicament in the hands of George; the only difference was that Choral had been used countless times by George but somehow Ashina had managed to lay him off with her witty and cunny nature. But, she has had to pay a price so deadly for that. George would embarrass her at every given opportunity and would humiliate her whenever he felt like it. He felt threatened by her wittiness yet, he was not willing to let her go, despite rejecting her as his mate. “I don't want to face that monster this morning!” She grumbled under her breath. “He is such a cruel fellow and I just want to see him suffer.” She was furious and her heart was racing with panic and anxiety as she stood up to walk towards his chambers, wondering why he wanted her so early. She took solace in the fact that after that day, she could leave the palace for a week and return the week that followed. “George is such a pain in my arse,” she whispered to herself as she pushed open his door without knocking. “You sent for me,” Ashina said, standing at the rear end of his room and looking down. She tried all she could to avoid contact with his eyes. She was not going to stare into the fiery eyes of a man who had done nothing but torture her. Her stay in the palace was forced. It was not her choice. After her family was killed, she was the only one who escaped. She found an old apartment and turned it into her home. Unknown to her was that she was living at the border of Crystal Pack and Wind Winder pack. One day, while she was walking down the street, she was nabbed by these men and they took her to their town head who in turn took her to George. They had had many cases of intruders and she seemed like one but when she saw George, she felt that mate bond within her, pulling her towards him. She felt it so strongly and was certain that he also felt it. It seemed like her pain and sorrow and her days of loneliness would finally be over but George turned out to dislike her so much that he openly rejected her and punished her for crossing borders illegally. She had an option to be turned in to face the law or be his slave, Ashina chose the latter. She couldn't afford being locked away in jail also, she had hoped that perhaps over time, George would learn to love her. Unfortunately, it got worse. He only craved her body but disliked her as his mate. “I cannot have you as my Luna!” He has reiterated over and over, “you are good for warming my bed.” But Ashina was so strong willed and would not let him easily have his way with her and this angered George so much that he humiliated her even more, at every given chance. Ashina stood there, staring down at the man who had turned her into a shadow of herself, and anger welled up within her. George got down from his bed and stood with his legs apart. He was undressed and Ashina turned away from the sight of him, holding down the scream that came to her throat. “Yesterday at the throne room, you said you were having your woman moment. Why did you lie to me, Ashina?” Ashina's heart raced like a deer.
