Chapter 7 Time To Go

1151 Words
Justin scrabbled towards Simona, leaving smears of blood along the floor. He put his arms around Simona as best as he could, cradling her in his arms. Spasms of pain rocked both Justin and Simona, was a house worth it? Had they been unreasonable? What about their kids? What would happen to them now? All these thoughts ran through both their minds as they lay there. Justin had given up on getting revenge on Richard.   "Justin, don't give up. Kill the bastard for me." Simona begged when she saw Justin was giving up. "Don't be a coward." Simona didn't seem to understand that even if he wanted too, Justin was incapable of picking up the knife, until Justin shook his head. "Then get out of here, get to a hospital. Make sure you live so you can get revenge…" Simona's words were barely audible. "I don't want you to die here."    Looking at Simona, Justin thought to himself that the woman was fat, ugly, and greedy. She had a foul temper, but for all her faults, she had loved him through everything. They had good times, as well as bad and Simona, had been the only one besides him all the way. Justin didn't want Simona to die.   "Oh, Hunny, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." Justin sobbed against Simona. "Just… Just hold on a little bit longer. I'll call the ambulance." Simona held her finger up to Justin's lips to make him quiet, "It's too late…" She whispered.   "She is right; it is too late," Richard said coldly as he watched the bloodstain get bigger and bigger. "No! you can't let her die; she can't die…" Justin cried. "How could you do this? How could you kill her in front of me?"    Simona's breathing was shallow; blood frothed at her mouth as she continued to bleed from the wound. Justin tried to feel for her pulse; he couldn't find one in her wrist. He moved his bloodied fingers to her throat to find a pulse there; it was weak and fading as Justin touched her. Justin knew that this would be the last time he saw his wife alive, he slumped over, holding onto Simona's body as if that might bring her back.     "Here, here are the keys to your f*****g house. Are you happy now?" Justin reached into his pocket and threw the keys at Richard with all his strength. Justin continued to hold onto his wife and began to weep bitterly, Richard picked up the keys, turned them over in his hand and then dropped them on the floor in front of Justin's face and left.   "Oh so now you want me to have the house." Justin cried out hoarsely to Richards back. "I f*****g hate you." Richard had lost a lot of compassion, the cruelty of what he had seen had toughened him. He could have killed Justin, just to ease his pain. Instead, Richard grabbed his house keys off the shelf and threw them to Justin.   "Have the keys, to both houses. I don't care." Richard shrugged and walked down the hall to wash his hands and get Mary and Steven. Justin watched Richard walk away in shock, Richard escorted Mary and Steven through the back door, so they didn't see the mess in the lounge room. Richard couldn't stop them from hearing Justin's cries, some from the pain and some from anger. When Mary looked at him questioningly, Richard shook his head, he would explain later.   Richard got his family out as quickly as he could; he got them to wait on the curb as he called and organized a taxi to pick them up. Richard gave Mary a quick squeeze; "I will be back in a minute," Richard promised Mary and went back to the house.   Inside the house, Justin was in a whirlwind. How could Richard give up his home like that? As if it meant nothing to him? Then he saw Simona's body and was overwhelmed with grief, she had been a pain in the ass to live with, but Justin wondered how he would live without her. Suddenly, Justin thought he heard footsteps; he tried to pull himself up into a sitting position but failed.   Richard was careful when he went back into the house; he needed to get the family documents and the small amount of cash he had hidden in the safe. He made sure that he had his wallet and enough baby supplies to last a few days. Whatever else they needed, they would buy on the way. The five million dollars had arrived safely in his bank account, he had nothing to keep him here anymore, and he figured that it was best to get out as quickly as possible.   Richard rejoined his family on the curb, just as the taxi arrived. Richard saw Mary into the back seat and then strapped the baby capsule in. Richard sat in the front seat and ordered the cab to the train station. Mary guessed that Richard had somehow managed to sell the properties and already had the money. Otherwise, he would not be so reckless.   Richard paid the driver while Mary unclipped the baby seat and grabbed the bags. They made their way into the train station. Richard asked Mary to sit and wait at a café while he went to purchase the tickets. Richard returned, and they made their way onto the train, they found their seats and settled in for the trip.   Mary planned on using the close quarters to talk to her husband; he couldn't escape her questions on a train. "Richard, when were you going to tell me? I'm angry that you made such an important decision without me. I thought we were only talking about selling, not doing it right now." Mary leaned forward and placed a gentle hand on his arm.   Richard was caught off guard by the soft gesture, it gave him goosebumps all over, and Richard suddenly felt very aroused. Richard grabbed Mary's hand and tugged gently, bringing her onto his lap. He spent a moment just enjoying her softness, her delicate perfume, and her bright blue eyes. "You make me crazy," Richard whispered hoarsely, grabbing her hips and ground his firmness against her.   "Do I have to remind you that we are on a train? Hands off." Mary said but blushed as Richard's hands grabbed her breasts and gently kneaded them. "We are in a private carriage," Richard replied, wiggling his eyebrows up and down. Richard wanted to savor every moment he could with Mary; he loved her just as much now as he did the day he married her. He smiled mischievously and continued to touch Mary in places that made her gasp.   "Stop, I think the baby is awake." Mary straightened herself up and went to check on Steven.
