The Stranger.

The next morning, Emily wakes up on shore somewhere. The sun was peaking through some trees above her making it hard for her to open her eyes fully. She was in so much pain, she couldn't move. It hurt for her to breath. She was shivering and trying not to sob. Her head was pounding as it was. She whimpered out small helps in holes someone was near by. All she can hear is the now settling river and birds. "Mist." She whimpered. "Im here. I can't come out. Changing into me will only hurt you more or worse. I can only heal you small amounts at a time." Mist explained. A few yards away was a guy camping. He was getting ready to go fishing. He walked along to shore humming away with a smile on his face. Emily hears him walking closer to her. "Help. Please." She begged. She shouldn't yell from the pain. She no longer heard the foot steps. "Don't you dare give in Emily!" Mist barked. "What's the point. My mate tried to kill me, my dad and I are so estranged with each other over my mom. I am lying here bleeding out and I'm not even scared. I just wish...." Emily starts slipping into darkness. She forces her eyes open, "I just wish I was good enough for someone. My dad can't stand being near me for long periods at a time." She was about to slip again when she sees a fuzzy figure above her. "Holy Christ hold on ma'am. Stay with me!" The man demanded. Everything goes dark for Emily. The guy checks for her pulse. "Faint." He grabs his walkie talkie, "Sir, found a body by camp. Get over here." The guy remained calm checking her over to see if she had open wounds that needed pressure to stop. He pulls out his phone and calls for more help. Behind him comes running another man hovering over his shoulder. "Jesus Doug what happened?" The standing guy asked. "I have no clue but we need to get her to the packs hospital right now." He suggested. He stands up and goes to his tent to grab blankets. The other guys gently picks her up and walks to their car. "Get the door." Doug rushes to open it and then climbs into the driver seat. The other guy and Emily are now in the back while Doug drives to the main road. "Sir, I left my phone at the tent, can you call Dr. McBride and let her know we're coming." He dials and puts it to his ear, they're all rocking side to side from the rocky driving trail. "This is Tim, Doug and I are on the way, we found a young female late teens early twenties at the shore from our camp site. Badly bruised probable internal bleeding unresponsive..." He goes on explaining everything. Emily and Most are together in her dream. Emily is just sitting in complete darkness. Mist, who has light grey fur and piercing blue eyes sits next to her. "What will happen to you once I die?" She asked while looking at Mist. "I die too. We are one. When you feel pain, I'll also feel it." They both sit and just look out into the darkness. Doug and Tim make it to the pack hospital. Dr. Mcbride was there waiting outside with a gurnee and three other nurses. Doug slams on the break and gets out to open the door. When they get Emily on the gurnee they all rush inside. "Doug how long has she been out for?" I don't know Tim rode with her the whole way." "The whole hour and then some." Tim answered. They rush her to the back and the doctor tells them to sit and that she will be with them in a few minutes. Doug and Tim sit in the waiting room. "Some trip huh?" Doug chuckled. Tim kept quiet obviously lost in his thoughts. Who was that? What the hell happened to her? I hope she pulls through. Doug cleared his throat to get Tims attention. Tim's still lost in his thoughts. "Are you okay sir?" Doug asked in a concerned matter. Tim looks up at Doug, "Yeah, yeah I'm good. She looks like she's been through hell and back huh?" Doug agrees. The surgeon and nurses are still working on Emily after three hours. "True ribs 3, 4, 5 are broke, left side, upper sternum is bruised, cartilage on true ribs 1-5 are are damaged. The true 6 and 7 left will need to be plated back together. What else was there Shannon?" "Dislocated left shoulder, broken right collar bone which has been fused an hour ago, jesus the list goes on and on! Did she fall of a cliff and hit every rock on the way down?" "The Alpha and Doug found her at their camp site in the river so that's a possibility. How was her EEG?" "Uhhhh... There was a few cracks on the skull its self, but other then that, she should be okay there. Honestly though we wont know that until she's awake. If she even does." It's been five hours and Doug left to grab Tim some clothes. Tim was not leaving until he knows what has happened. He was about to fall asleep when he was woken up by Doctor McBride. "Im terribly sorry Alpha, but I figured you would want an update on the girl." Tim rubs his eyes nodding yes. "Well i have no clue if her injuries were caused by going down the river or what, but we had to open her up almost everywhere. She had broken bones through out her body, internal bleeding which we managed to fix up also, and we had to replace a hip bone. So i am guessing she was in a terrible accident before going for a swim, or she fell in the river at the mountain and traveled for days. One more day and she wouldn't have been so lucky." Tim has a shocked look. If he would have waiting one more day to go camping, they would not have found her alive. "Can I go see her?" Tim requested. McBride looks through the file, "she's still asleep heavily drugged, but I don't see why not since you and Doug saved her after all. Room 261 down the hall." She and Tim stand up and shake each others hands and go their separate ways. Tim opens Emily's room door, and is stunned with the sight of her. She was hooked up too so many machines and was covered in either casts or gauzes. He, however couldn't help but also see the natural beauty she has. He sat next to her and was just staring at her. He started to feel a little warm and felt like he was in high school again after seeing the popular girl. He had the sweaty palms, fluttering heart, dry mouth, you name it, he's got it. Doug made it to the pack house and a bunch of others were outside waiting. "Darling what happened? The doctor said you found a body in the river? Is it someone we know? Are they alive?" Heidi, Doug's mate was obviously very concerned about the whole ordeal. He takes her hands and brings them close to her, "Sweet heart, we found her barely alive, last I knew she was still in surgery, and no we have never seen her before. Tim stayed behind in case. He asked me to come and get some clothes for him. After i drop them off I'll be back." Doug reassured her. Doug and Heidi has raised Tim since he was eleven after his parents were killed in a car accident going to an all Alpha and Luna dinner. So they both couldn't help but take care of him, not even because he was the Alpha but because they never had pups of their own so they look at him like a son. "I'll follow you with another car so Tim will have his own vehicle whenever he is ready to come home." Heidi insisted. Back at the hospital, Tim ended up passing out on the chair next to Emily. Emily however was still in that dream set with Mist. "You know Emily, you're going to have to wake up soon. You can't stay here. Even the strongest minded warriors will go mad staying in a place like this for to long." Mist begged Emily. Mist has heard stories of this happening amongst other wolves. Their humans face traumatic experiences and seek solitude into their minds because they feel safe. Emily let's out a defeated sigh. "I don't want to. What's the point Mist? Everyone out there hates me." Emily starts to sob in her hands feeling so low. Mist sniffs the air around them. "There's someone out there worried about you. Male, same as us, very powerful wolf of high status."
