"You have got to be joking! He can't be! There is no way this is going to end good. Tyler cannot be our mate!" Emily explained in a panic matter to her wolf, Mist. Tyler just stood there at the end of the hall of their high school. She can't tell if he looks pissed or just as shocked as she was. "Even his wolf, Thorn is giving me that look." Mist added. After what seems like forever of just staring at each other, Emily takes a step forward. As soon as she does, Tyler takes two steps back. Even though she knew that this wasn't going to be easy, Emily couldn't help but feel a bit sad. Tyler then turns to run away. Mist started to whimper. Emily was heading home after her very last day of high school. During her walk she got lost in her thoughts. Wondering why out of everyone in town was she destined for Tyler. They were complete opposites. She loved staying at home and reading and trying different recipes that she finds on cooking shows. Where as Tyler likes to drive around all night raising hell and seeing how many girls he can sleep with within a week. He was wild and free where as she was a home body and content. Don't get me wrong, she thought Tyler is a heart throb. With his brown hair that just covers his eyes, oh man his eyes! Green like emeralds. He was taller then her, which is a bonus. She is 5'5 so he has to be 5'9. She would love for him to love her as a mate should, but she can't help but think that it'll never happen. Just before she turned to her drive way, her thoughts were stopped by bumping into someone. Tyler! She looked up and her blood turned into ice, her heart was pounding, and she had dry mouth. He then handed her a piece of folded paper and walked away. Dumbfounded with that just happened she walks into her house. There was a note on the shoe rack, "Had too leave town to work at the Red Creek pack. I'll be back in three days. Love you! -Dad" She huffed and went upstairs to her room. She really needed to talk to him about this whole Tyler thing. She sat on her bed fiddling with the note Tyler gave her. What's up with people writing to me? She thought out loud. As she opened it, she could not help but get the sent of sandalwood. That must be his sent to her since they were mates. "If you take any longer Im gonna scream!" Pleaded Mist. Emily finally fully opened the letter. "Emily, I saw your dad leaving with a bunch of bags packed. I take it as he's gone for a few days? I'll stop over later and we can talk. I'll be there around midnight. Leave the door unlocked. -T" Okay so it isn't bad news. Emily started to get a little excited. Mist too. It was only three in the afternoon. So she had to think of ways to kill time. She was walking around the house trying to think of something to do and to calm her nerves. She decided to take a quick shower, just in case. She was looking at herself in the mirror, she was having flash backs of how Tyler and his friends all treated her like s**t since day one. Calling her a dumb blond, a motherless mutt, trash, the list goes on and on. She snapped back and started to brush her long, blond, wavy hair. Once the water was set at the perfect temp, she hopped in and enjoyed the hot water hitting her back. When she was finished she went back to the mirror to apply make up. She did like how the black eye liner made her baby blue eyes pop. She had an outfit picked out before hand which was a pair of jean shorts and a basic white t-shirt. She headed down stairs to grab a snack, but then realized that her dad didn't go shopping before he had left. " Figures." She whispered. She looked at the time, a little after four. She checks the cookie tin for the rainy day funds they saved up. $156 was more then enough. She got ready and headed to the convenience store a block away. She has to walk by a river that sits behind her house and many others. It was rushing pretty fast today because of the rain they have had. She just stopped and stared at it for a minute. The noise was pretty loud that it made. It was a very loud roar. She then continued to to the store, Reggies snacks and more. She was happy to get inside. It was a hot July afternoon. The air conditioner was on full blast making the store feel like a walk in freezer. It gave her goosebumps since she was sweating a little bit from the walk. She grabs some chips, a chocolate candy bar, and a nice and cold drink with electrolytes. She made it to the register and the cashier was someone she went to school with, Deborah Bell. "So, you all done with school too now? Got any plans?" Deb acted interested. "Well, for the first month I will just stay at home, then I will go to the community College across town." Emily humored her since the boss was at the next register. "How nice. I will be here for my two weeks then I'll be moving in with my mate, Zane Mitchell. We found each other today and he's already Obsessed with me. Not that I can't blame him." Zane was one of the town's wealthy family here. So it's obvious she would quit her job. "Yeah I'm not to sure how my situation with my mate will go. Its Tyler..." She didn't even have to finish his whole name, Deb gasp and giggled. "Oh wow, umm I guess good luck!" After Emily paid for everything, she hesitated to go back out in the heat. The radio that was playing through the store speakers said it was 102° and sunny out there. Yuck! Emily took a deep breath of the nice cooked air and quickly headed outside. She rushed home to avoid staying out there to long. Her body was sweating something horrible. Emily was sensitive to the heat, has been her whole life. She had to stop to take a breather. She then hears voices across the street, she looks and sees that it's some bitches that always picked on her through out school. Tyler hung out with them and probably slept with al of them at one point. They start to point at her and giggle. That's her que to get home before they start any crap. When she got in, her face was red, hot, and felt like it was beating. Her neck was all sweaty. The worst part? Her chocolate bar melted! She popped that bad boy in the freezer. She needed to settle down and cool down before she ends up having issues from the heat. So she plops down on the couch and turned oj the television. She was watching some documentaries about guys going into some woods looking for werewolves. "If only you guys knew. Bunch of dumbasses." It was more of a comedy, full of "you've got to be kidding" moments for her. To humans, it would be considered scary. Then a commercial came on that broke her heart. It was a claim for composition for families of mothers who died during childbirth from using a newer strain of an epidural. That's what took her mom Barbra aka Barbie. She was a splitting image of her. Her heart hurt that she never got to know her. Her dad always told her that she was like her in so many ways and that it was hard raising her at first. Her mom loved books too and baking also. To her It's strange that she's just like someone that had she never met before. She takes a look at the wall where her dad hangs a picture of her mom while she was pregnant. She had very long hair that was straight. She was petite in weight and hight. All that was different between the two was that Barbra had more leg length then Emily. Then her eyes wondered to the picture next to that one. It was of Emily when She started first grade. She remembers that day like it was yesterday. That's when her and Tyler shared that class. She starts having a flash back of that day. Emily wore her red dress with a teddy bear on the side. She was so proud of it. She had pig tails with some pretty clips on them. Her dad took her to the schools playground, Tyler that day, pushed Her off the slide and she fell over landing on her arm. She had to get a cast on. Since Tyler's dad was the principle at the time, they ruled it as an accident and left it at that. Her dad was pissed. Her third grade art show was destroyed by him also. Since she got an A+ and he a C-,he took some dog crap and smeared it all over it and on her back without her realizing it. That's when the bullying escalated so bad that she didn't want to tell her dad. The abuse goes on and on. What bothers her the most is when they all were in tenth grade. His side piece took all of her clothes while she was was showering at the gyms showers, throwing them all over the schools front yard. When she was trying to collect her clothes and keep the towel on, he then threw water balloons full of food coloring at her. She was blue for a whole week. She is starting to get more nervous now. "Let's hope the bond will change him." Begged Mist. "Me too. I just wish I knew what I did wrong for him to treat me the way he has all these years. Its not like I bothered him." Emily stated. She sighed with a heart full of pain. No one besides her dad cared for her. Her grandparents blame Emily for their daughters death, always saying that Emily should of been aborted so that Barbra could have live. Her dad's parents both died while her mother was pregnant with her. Her aunt Betty was busy working across the country so She was never close to her. Mist was getting tired. So she slipped deeper into Emily's mind to rest. Emily realizes the sun is gone and the clock starts playing that tune letting people know that it's been another hour. Ten o'clock?? She starts getting more nervous now! She looks around and then grabs her phone. She gets on her cell and sends a message to her dad. "Hey I'll be heading to bed soon. I hope you're doing okay. Im fine. By the way, next time give me a heads up there's no snacks lol. I love you and miss you!" Her dad doesn't allow boys over when he's not here. Not that any would before anyways. She don't need him to call while Tyler's here. Tyler would be the least of her worries if her dad found out a guy was here. She went in for a big arm stretch after sitting for so long and realized that her pits stunk from sweating earlier. She runs into the bathroom and takes another quick shower to get rid of the stink. She isn't sure what's going to happen when Tyler shows up, but incase he wants to do the dirty, she don't need to smell dirty before. She goes to her room and picks out a nighty dress. It was white and was low cut in the front. She brushed her hair and put it in a bun to show off her neck. She sprayed her expensive perfume her dad got her for an early graduation gift. It was 11:37 now and now her and Mist were getting more nervous and anxious. There was knocking on the door. "He's early." Mist pointed out. When Emily opened the door, Tyler was standing there with a s**t eating grin. "Hey." He said in a low voice that made Emily even Mist melt. She opens the door more wide so he can come in. He looks around while she shuts the door. "Nice place you got here. So daddy is gone then I take it?" She walks to the couch obviously showing signs she is nervous. "Yeah, he won't be back for a few days. Oh would you like a drink?" She points to the kitchen. She wouldn't be surprised if he notices hee shaking a little bit. "That's good. I'm fine I grabbed a bite to eat and a drink before i got here. So we need to talk." Emily looks down at her feet. "Yeah I think we do. Please sit." She shows him a chair that's next to the couch. He sits and she takes her spot on the couch. He leans back and just looks at her. She starts twirling her fingers. Mist hasn't said a word since he came in. Which is weird. She always has some smart ass joke or comment to say during these stressful moments. "So, as we both know you and I are meant to be mates." He says while taking his finger and rubbing his chin. She nods her head agreeing. "How do you feel about it?" Emily requested. Tyler was silent for a second. He then leans forward to get a little closer to Emily. "What do i think? I'll admit, I was shocked and confused. We never really hung out. I don't know much about you. How do you feel about it?" He asked while slightly squinting his eyes. "Ummm, scared. I know how much you ... really don't like me i guess. I mean since kindergarten you did have away to make it known you never liked me." She answered with a slight quiver in her voice from being uncomfortable. He snickered by her answer. She was twirling her hair because she couldn't sit still at all. There was a light noise outside. She turned to the door wondering what it was. "Must be the wind." She assured herself. She then looked at him. He was only a few inches from her face. Her heart was pounded so hard she could feel it through her teeth. "Mist? Where are you?" She thought hoping to get an answer. "Do you know what i want from this bond?" He asked Emily with that grin on his face still. She shook her head. In away she was hoping he was going to kiss her. The smell of sandalwood was so strong her heart not only was pounding but it was fluttering also. She gulp waiting for his answer. Her hands were getting sweaty. He leaned on closer, "I want," he got closer, "you," closer, "to simply," he was an inch from her face, "f**k off." What? Then the front door busts open. All his friends, their mates or girlfriends, and his fling for the week came through the door! Emily jumps up getting ready to head out the back door in the kitchen when Tyler grabs her by her hair. " I don't f*****g think so!" He Seethed throwing her on the floor. "MIST I NEED YOU!" She shouted in her mind demanding her help. They all were laughing. "Don't bother calling your mutt. Sandalwood? Really? Try wolves bane dumb ass! The note? Laced with it. She's off in la la land!" His friend Bruce grinned. f**k! How can I be so stupid? She looks at Tyler. "Why? What did I ever do to you for you to hate me thus much? I left you alone all my life!" Emily shrieked. Tyler leans down to me. "Because, I don't need a reason to hate you. Your existence is quite sickening. There is something about you that makes my blood boil. If you think I'll be your mate, you must be really stupid! So listen good blondie, I, Tyler Stevens of the Crimson lake pack, here by reject you as my mate. Now accept it you poor excuse of a werewolf!" He demanded with such anger. She was in so much shock that she didn't answer right away. Then his fling, Stacie comes over and kicks Emily in the ribs. She is now gasping for air. She felt a pop so that means something broken. Tyler then grabs her by the hair, " Say it now and this will be over." He assured her. Gasping for air, "Please.... Tyler... Let me go." Emily was trying to beg. He then shakes her head holding onto her bun still. He grips on her face. Squeezing hard that she feels like she's about to loose teeth. Tears are falling all over her face. "I accept." Emily groaned then sobs. He lets go of her hair and walks away. "Please leave. You've done enough." Emily pleaded. Tyler stops looks over his shoulder, "Have fun guys." He said in a sinister way. He sits on the couch to watch. Then before she knows it, they're all punching and kicking her. Emily was screaming in pain. She sees Reagan standing off to the side. Reagan was the only one who never harmed Emily through out the years. "Reagan please!" Emily begged her for help. Stacie was stomping on her arm so she can't hit back. Emily took a deep breath in, "DADDY!" Emily cried out. Stacie was about to stomp again then Emily grabs Stacie's leg which results Stacie falling backwards. Everyone stops to look at Stacie. Everyone starts to giggle more. Emily the looks up to Tyler, "You will never, ever hear the last of me, you man w***e. I will make your life so miserable that you'll always regret this day!" Bellowed Emily with blood coming out of her mouth. His face showed so much rage. He gritted his teeth, "Teach this b***h a lesson to not threaten me!" He roared. Something inside Emily snapped. She was laughing as she was getting beat. Not breaking eye contact with Tyler. Stacie gets up Then grabs the heavy lamp on the end stand "f**k YOU b***h" and then smashes it on Emily's face. Regan gasps out loud. Tyler gets up then pushed Stacie away. "What the f**k are you doing? I said teach her a lesson not kill her you God damn tramp!" He yelled. Davis then stops Tyler who was about to smack Stacie. "Dude not now!" They all circle around Emily. "Is she dead?" One of Tyler's friends asks. Emily was still. She had a huge gash on her head. Her hair was no longer blond, it was all red from her blood. "What are we going to do?" Reagan shrieked. Everyone was silent. Then Tyler hears the river out back. "Get her feet." He demanded. Tyler grabs her wrists and Davis takes her legs. They slip out the back door seeing the raging river in the back yard. Reagan panics. "No Tyler you can't be serious! Don't you think you've done enough?" Tyler drops Emily making her body thud. "Listen b***h I'm not going to prison for some low life! You all helped so if I go down, we all do!" He pointed to everyone. Tyler grabs Emily's hands and continues dragging her near the river. "Well, should we at least check to see if she's alive?" His other friend asks. Tyler goes to walk away when Emily grabs his leg. He lets out a scream and kicks her arm. Emily is coughing, pleading for help. Stacie then grabs Emily's ankles and then waits for someone to grab the wrists. "Bunch of pussies." Tyler said as he grabs the wrists. As soon as Emily is in the air, she screamed "NO!" She is long gone now. Her body was no where to be seen. The river moved her away so fast. Tyler quickly turns to face everyone. "No one says a f*****g word about this!" Stacie, Reagan, and a couple more guys walk to the cars that were parked down the street. Davis and Tyler stay and watch the river. "What was your problem with her anyways dude?" Davis was curious. Tyler sighs, "Honestly, I have no idea. I just have this hatred for her."
