In a world where ancient rivalries are written in blood and loyalty is everything, Aurora Wildheart has spent her life following the rules.

Then she falls for the one man she should never want.

As a werewolf spy sworn to uphold the Order's laws, Aurora knows that her growing relationship with Vincent—a powerful vampire with secrets of his own—could destroy everything they've worked for. Their stolen moments are dangerous, their love forbidden, and every heartbeat brings them closer to discovery.

But their romance is only the beginning.

When a mysterious recall summons Aurora back to Mooncrest, whispers of missing women, hidden agendas, and a centuries-old conspiracy begin to surface. Powerful leaders are withholding the truth. Ancient packs are hiding deadly secrets. And somewhere beyond the borders of Bloodmoon territory, a darkness is awakening that seems to know Aurora far better than she knows herself.

As loyalties fracture and danger closes in, Aurora must decide who she can trust—her Order, her closest allies, or the vampire who has captured her heart.

Because some secrets can change the world.

And some loves are worth risking everything for.

Perfect for readers who love forbidden romance, supernatural intrigue, powerful werewolves and vampires, hidden conspiracies, and heart-pounding suspense, this captivating fantasy adventure will keep you turning pages long into the night.

Chapter 1
Mooncrest kept its secrets the way old cities do—pressed between stones, tucked into the grain of wood worn smooth by generations of hands that knew better than to speak certain names aloud. The night air carried pine and damp earth and something metallic that had nothing to do with rain. Aurora Wildheart moved through it like a thought someone almost had. No sound from her boots. No disturbance in the shadows she passed through. Only the faint displacement of air that even most supernaturals would miss. She had been patrolling for two hours. She had been thinking about Vincent for three. That was the problem with forbidden things. They didn't wait for convenient moments. The Order had called her team back less than a week after their last mission ended. Normally that would have occupied her attention. New assignments meant new variables, new risks, new opportunities for something to go wrong. Instead, her thoughts kept circling back to a vampire with dark eyes and dangerous patience. Six months ago a cross-species operation had put them in the same corridor. Everything after that had become increasingly complicated. Vincent worked as a liaison between the vampire community and the Order, navigating political tensions that could spark conflicts if mishandled. He was good at it. Better than good. Aurora had watched hardened alphas, territorial shifter leaders, and centuries-old vampires leave conversations believing they'd gotten exactly what they wanted, only to realize later that Vincent had quietly guided everyone toward the same outcome. She admired that about him. She admired entirely too many things about him. The way his presence altered a room without demanding attention. The way he listened as though every word mattered. The particular quality of his focus when it settled on her. A look across a briefing table that lingered a second too long. A conversation becoming another conversation. A reason to stay after meetings had ended. Cool fingers brushing her wrist in a narrow stairwell. One stolen moment becoming another until neither of them could honestly pretend there was nothing there. They had never named it. Naming things made them real. Real things could be discovered. And discovered things could be taken away. The Order's rules existed for reasons Aurora understood all too well. Werewolves and vampires had spent centuries finding new ways to hate one another. The alliance between supernatural factions was fragile on its best days, held together by necessity, diplomacy, and the shared understanding that open conflict would destroy all of them. Relationships across species complicated that balance. Sometimes they shattered it. Aurora had read the histories. She knew the stories. Families destroyed. Alliances broken. Blood spilled because two people had believed they could outrun centuries of resentment. She understood the logic. She just wasn't sure logic had much power once a heart became involved. Raised by Emerald Forest Pack, Aurora had grown up believing the moon would eventually reveal the path she was meant to follow. One day she would meet her fated mate. One day instinct and destiny would align. That wasn't what had happened with Vincent. There was no mate bond. No certainty. No divine reassurance that the universe approved of her choices. Only a vampire who had somehow become essential to her. Aurora turned the corner and continued through the sleeping streets. The mission should have been her focus. Instead she found herself thinking about Vincent's smile, about the way his voice softened when they were alone, and about the increasingly inconvenient fact that six months ago she'd been a spy with a clean record and an uncomplicated heart. Then she'd met him. And she still hadn't figured out how to shift back. Or if she wanted to. The cobblestones changed texture as Aurora crossed into the older quarter—wider gaps, rougher edges, the particular give of stone that had been walked into submission over hundreds of years. She catalogued three exits, two clean sightlines, and one door left an inch open on a building that should have been locked. Filed it away. Moved on. Something was wrong with the city tonight. Not dramatically wrong. Nothing she could point to in a report. More like the subtle wrongness of a room where someone had moved a chair six inches while you were gone. Everything looked the same. Nothing felt the same. Her wolf had been restless since the recall came down two days ago, pacing beneath her skin with low, persistent unease. The Order didn't pull entire teams out of active assignments without reason. They certainly didn't do it less than a week after a major operation. Something had happened. Something important enough that the Council wanted every operative back in Mooncrest immediately. The fact that nobody seemed willing to explain why did little to improve her mood. A soft sound broke through her thoughts. Leather against stone. Deliberate. Not an approach. A greeting. Her wolf surged forward in a rush of heat. Muscles tightened. Senses sharpened. Then the figure stepped into the moonlight. The heat settled back into readiness. "Gamma Marcus," Aurora said. The wolf who emerged from the shadows wore amusement the way some people wore armor. Midnight-blue hair caught the moonlight. Emerald eyes gleamed. He looked relaxed. Which usually meant someone else should be nervous. "Wildheart." He tipped his chin. "Funny finding you haunting my patrol route." "Thought I'd improve the quality of the operation." "Generous of you." He fell into step beside her without asking. Aurora didn't adjust her pace. Neither did he. They found the rhythm automatically. Four years of missions had a way of teaching people how to move around one another. "Any trouble?" Marcus asked. "Not the kind that announces itself." She glanced sideways. "You?" A brief shrug. Too casual.
