We go to our seats and start to eat some food, the twins decide to start a food fight with each other and Mason has to block me so my dress doesn’t get ruined. Annie scolds them and sends them back to the house until the run.  “What is the run exactly?” I ask Mason as he fills my plate with pineapple and grapes, he knows how much I love them.  “Oh I didn’t tell you, I must have forgotten. The first official run for the new Alpha and Luna takes place when the moon is at its highest point in the sky, I'd say in about half an hour. The reason we do it is to connect the Alpha and Luna with every member in the pack of age of course. We run as a pack, Alpha and Luna leading the pack” Mason explains.  “But.. I can’t run, I can’t even shift..” I say sadly.  “Don’t worry about that Love. You will be riding me. As long as we are together during the run it doesn't matter that you're not shifted” He tells me as he leans in and kisses my cheek.  “Get a room” Alex teases as he and Troy come up to our table. They sit down in the twin’s chairs.  “It’s almost time boss,” Troy says to Mason as he stretches out in the chair.  I don’t focus much on the rest of their conversation, all I can think about is Mason's comment.  You will be riding me.    Riding me.  I will be riding him.  Images of me sitting on his lap start to flood in my mind. I shake my head at the image but it slips back inside. I watch in my mind as his hand comes up to my throat and pulls me down into a steamy kiss as I ‘ride him’  “It’s time” Mason says, his voice strained. He looks like he is in pain somehow. His eyes are darker than usual, he’s gazing at me so intently.  Alex clears his throat and awkwardly stands. Troy follows suit, almost running away.  What just happened?  Mason rips his gaze off me after taking a long uneven breath and standing. He takes hold of my hand and helps me to my feet. He picks me up and walks me towards a patch of trees. He sets me down on a log before shifting into his wolf. It has been a while since I saw Striker. His dark brown fur shines in the moonlight.  I hadn’t even noticed that it was so dark until now, the moon high and full in the sky. It illuminates everything with a soft glow. He walks to me and lays on his belly, letting me pet him for a moment.  “You need to climb onto me dear” Striker says in the darkness.  “Oh, right” I say as I move awkwardly, my dress is long and restricting, I ball it up in front of me as I slide my leg over one side of Striker's back and then try to pull myself up on him.  “You can pull yourself up, you won’t hurt me”  He says almost with a purr. I swallow hard and grab onto his fur on the side of his neck and pull, he growls slightly, not in anger but more like pleasure.  “Make sure you hold on tight..” He says as he stands, jolting me slightly and I grip onto him tighter. I wrap my arms around the back of his neck and lay on him, my head resting on his shoulder.      He walks towards the staged area and I see hundreds of wolves standing, waiting for their King. They each bow their heads as Striker walks through them, they part ways to let him by. He easily stands taller than all but one wolf. I assume it's Maximus, but I’ve never seen his wolf before so I’m not sure. Striker howls into the darkness, his head tilted towards the moon.      The next moment he breaks out into a slow run, going a lot slower than I think he would have liked but he doesn’t want me to fall off. I can sense the other wolves of the pack all around us before I see them, they keep their distance slightly behind, all but two wolves. I assume they are Alex and Troy, running nearly beside Striker.      I had expected to feel something, being the first run with the pack, I thought I’d feel connected to them. Maybe since Ember is still sleeping and healing she cannot handle connecting to the pack yet. I wish I was just a normal wolf, able to connect with my Mate and run beside him… even just once.     Striker picks up his pace, making me hold on tighter, he weaves in and out of the trees easily, jumping over fallen logs. I find myself feeling envious that he is able to run freely with no worries. I’ve always wanted to do that. I never will have the chance to though. My heart feels heavy as I think about all the things I will never be able to do.  Striker.      I can feel her heat on my back, her core burning a whole in me. I enjoy her holding onto my fur so tightly. I pick up pace and jump over a fallen tree, she grips me so hard I bet her knuckles are white.  Suddenly I sense intense sadness coming off her, her body tenses up and I can hear her sniffle slightly.  Continue on without me. I mindlink the entire pack and I veer off to the left, towards the lake.   Where are you going? Alistair, Alex’s wolf mindlink's back  I’m spending some time with my Queen… I’ll be back soon     Rain doesn’t seem to notice that we have ditched the pack and are heading to a remote location. I slow my pace now to a walk and let her have a chance to look around. We get to the clearing by the lake and I stare up at the sky. I howl at the moon and I can hear the pack howling in the distance. I look back to Rain who is sitting up on my back now, she looks so beautiful in the moonlight. Her long black hair is slightly ruffled from the ride but otherwise in perfect order.  Her dress is wrinkled and bunched up at the crotch, no wonder I can feel the heat coming off her.      I glimpse her panties from the angle I’m looking at, they are white lace. I growl low, getting her attention. She has been staring at the lake and the moon for quite some time. She smiles, not bothered by a care in the world at this moment.  “We are alone, at last” I say as softly as I can, my voice vibrating in my chest.  “It’s beautiful here” She looks around, finally noticing we are indeed alone.  “I used to come here a lot, it was my thinking place” I tell her as I walk over to the water's edge, dipping my front paws in. The water is cool tonight.  “You really do look absolutely beautiful tonight”  She blushes, making me want to take her right this second.  I lean back to her and lick her cheek.  “Mine” I say possessively, “I can sense your wolf… won’t you let me meet her soon?”  “I’m so sorry Striker.. I don’t know if you’ll ever be able to meet her. She was so weak the last time I spoke to her… I don’t think I’ll ever shift..” She sobs softly, burying her face in my neck.  “You will, my love.. Do not fret, she just needs more time. I can sense her, it’s like she has a soundproof wall put up preventing me from seeing and hearing her. But I know she’s there”  I can sense her too, Mason says in the back of my mind.  It starts spitting rain, Rain shivers as a cool breeze hits her.  Let’s head back, I don’t want her to get sick. Mason tells me      I start running into the forest again, making sure Rain holds on tightly. By the time we get back to the house we are both soaked to the bone. Rain’s dress clings to her body, showing every single curve on her perfect body. Alex walks up to me and helps Rain off my back as I go behind a tree and shift, letting Mason have control once more.       I cannot take my eyes off her, she is propped up beside Alex, he looks afraid to touch her.  Good, she's mine. I think as I growl low at him, he backs off as Mason picks her up in his arms and starts to walk into the house with her. She snuggles up to him and sighs.  I try one more to make contact with her wolf, Ember but she is still blocking me. I recede tot he back of Mason's mind for the time being.
