King Onyx returned home to a not so happy father "where were you son! Hansley told me you stepped out, you stepped out for practically two days! princess Madeline has been patiently waiting for your return". Onyx sighs "I went out for a little I believe as king I can at least do that" he glares at his father and walks away to his quarters to change into his royal garbs. Onyx is taking off his shirt when Madeline just barges in "welcome home your majesty" she bows as he puts a shirt on "do not enter my rooms without my permission I will have you cast away for such intrusions what is it that you want?". Madeline smirks "ahh the cold king is still there is he not, I simply came to say hello and to welcome you home like a future bride would". Onyx walks towards her and slams his fist on the wall beside her "your not my future bride and never will be, whatever my father has planned for you with me will not stand I will deny you over and over and wont come miles within a church with you in it as the bride, now leave me alone" onyx leaves his room and Hansley who quietly was in the corner escorts princess Madeline out. Later that evening James and Onyx are in the dining hall eating dinner when James looks at Onyx "my son why do you not marry? you are of age I wish to see the kingdom safe with possible heirs tell me what is the matter" James's eyes plead with sorrow into Onyx's eyes making Onyx shudder "I..I..I am in love father with somebody who is not royal" Onyx keeps his eyes down avoiding his fathers "not royal? how could you fall in love with somebody not royal how is that even possible you have only seen other royals except the help, please tell me its not a maid!" James places his hands on his sons shoulders and looks at him. "Wellll she isnt a maid but she is a commoner, you remember the watchers? its their daughter", James lets go of his son "no...you cant...its forbidden maybe as a mistress but not marriage..its written in the rules of Altria you must marry royal blood". Onyx becomes instantly enraged "rules! I am king! what I say will be done for it is my will, you cannot change my mind father I have loved Lilac since I was nine! and if I choose to marry her everybody must accept her" his father shakes his head "you cannot bring a commoner into our world they are not fit for it, the people will be upset with you and the nobility will consider you mentally insane I beg you son rethink and accept princess Madeline as your queen". "Father our kingdom is built upon commoners to have one of their own become empress will please our people, yes I dont disagree with you some may be unhappy about her becoming empress but I believe overall it will help us, now I must go" he pats his fathers shoulder and walks away leaving James in utter shock and Madeline comes up beside him "he is in love with a commoner? but I am right here ready for him" she pretends to cry "am I not good enough for him?" James takes her hand and pats it "perhaps my dear we need you to seduce him or tempt him into wanting only you". Later on in the evening Hansley is helping Onyx get ready for bed "Hansley you have been with me for as long as I can remember yes?" Hansley helps Onyx into bed "yes your majesty I have been there since you were born is something the matter?" Onyx thinks for a moment "be honest with me truly do, if I was to marry Lilac would it do harm? what do you think of her?" Hansley turns to him after lighting a candle on the fireplace and smiles "your majesty if she makes you happy than you have your answer, your king in the end no matter what and a king must consider all but there is nothing wrong with considering himself every now and than" Onyx nods and thanks him as Hansley bows and leaves his room to sit outside his door and rest. Onyx lays in bed staring at the ceiling "I honestly like her when im near her" he puts a flat hand to his chest "it hurts".
