Her Three Mates

Chapter 8

Ruby’s POV

I get to the park earlier than I had intended, I couldn’t wait to see my three gorgeous men. I still don’t know what I am going to talk to them about. All I want is to just see them, maybe this ache in my heart will go away.

Surprisingly, they are all here, and they seem to be in a heated argument which stops the moment they spot me.

They all stand up pretending to be quiet except Owen, who doesn’t even seem to care.

Why does his rebellious nature seem to turn me on?

Part of me wants to rush into his arms. He turns to look at me and I see his face light up a little. I guess he read my mind.

However, I feel the same way when Damien offers his hand politely, so I can sit down. And Rowan hands me a bottle of water, I don’t even know how he knew I was thirsty after walking all the way here.

I take a seat on the bench beside Owen, Rowan sits next to me and Damien kneels before me taking my hand in his. Every contact with them makes me want more, I am afraid if we don't find a solution soon, I will end up messing with all of them, because I am equally attracted to all three. The connection I feel for them, is undeniable.

“Tell us why you called us here, I have somewhere to be.” Owen speaks in anger. What did I do to upset him this much?

“Shut it, before I shut it for you.” Rowan interjects, getting up from the bench in anger. “You think you are so special?”

“Can you please stop, our mate called us here for a reason.” Damien interjects, his amber eyes not leaving mine. He is the reasonable one, despite being the Alpha, he is down to earth.

“Quiet child, you should keep quiet when adults are speaking.” Owen says arrogantly. What’s wrong with them, how am I going to coexist with all of them in one environment?

“I can’t do this.” I say getting up from the seat and I start to walk away, I feel so overwhelmed. “Why did I think that I could handle all of this? I just can’t.” I shout, tears of defeat streaming down my face. I am lying to myself to think that I can control three grown men, powerful ones for that matter.

“No, please don’t do this Ruby, we promise to behave alright.” Damien begs in a broken voice. I can feel all their sadness and inner tears. It's breaking me. I can’t deal with this all my life, I have to reject all of them, it’s better to live alone than to suffer.

“Ruby, please don’t think like that, you are the only hope I have.” Owen speaks, I can feel the honesty in his voice.

“Without you there is no Rowan Ruby.”

I listen as all of them beg me, I can see people passing by looking at us. There is even a small crowd forming already. I forgot how this town loves gossip. I want to leave, but I can’t my heart is too heavy to leave them like this. I turn around to look at them, my heart shatters when I find all of them kneeling.

“why are you doing this for me please, I am not worth it, I am just a normal wolf with no ranking, please get up, alpha Damien, Prince Owen, King Rowan, please get up.” I say feeling so awful. What are they doing to me.

“You are all renowned people, you are the leaders of the supernatural world, and we are worlds apart, tell me how we are going to make this work, tell me.” I shout, my emotions overwhelming me. They just keep quiet and stare at me as I runt out.

“Just get up, okay, I have no solution for this. The only thing that is coming to my mind is only one.” I take a deep breath, when I was coming here, I didn’t know that this was what I would say. “Moon goddess made a mistake pairing me with three men, I can’t handle it, I don’t have the strength to fight.”

“Please Ruby, I will do anything, I will even get rid of these two if I have to, but I can’t just lose you now that I found you. Without you, I don’t have a life, you are literally my savior.” Owen begs, folding his hands together,.

“Is that why you kidnapped me?” I ask in anger. “Get out of here, did anyone invite you here.” I scream at the crowd that is growing larger by the minute, causing it to disperse.

“So you were the one who took her, you bastard?” Rowan asks, getting up using his super speed and lunging one surprise blow to Owen, who falls backwards. “I will tear you apart for what you did, son of a b***h.” He continues to rain blows on Owen, but he doesn’t protest.

“Stop it, Rowan please.” I beg, but my pleading falls on deaf ears. He seems to have changed, his whole body has black veins sprouting as I see his nails elongating. Oh my goodness, if I don’t stop this, then Owen is going to lose his life for sure.

“Please fight Owen,” I plead now, trying to pull Rowan off him, but he is too heavy for me. He is just like a stone, Damien doesn’t even involve himself in the fight, he just stands there looking at the two.

“What for Ruby, without you, I am dead anyway.” He answers, closing his eyes as if surrendering. What is he saying? is that why Mobius called me his savior?

I don’t know where I get the courage to jump on top of Owen and being in the middle of Rowans sharp claw and Owen’s frame. Before I can say a thing to Rowan, I feel a sharp pain in my abdomen. Oh, no, I got stabbed instead.

“Please stop.” I beg as I direct my hand to where the stab is, Rowan's eyes widen as they become normal. His features turn to normal in seconds.

“What have I done?” I feel his voice fading, as I start choking in my blood. In seconds, my world goes blank.
