5- Find Him

2437 Words
Lucas' POV It's been a few months since my so-called sister has abandoned me. To say that it has been easy would be a lie, and I mean a major hippity hoppity I'm stupid as fuckity lie. Ronny has not talked to me once and guilt has eaten me alive. I look and feel like one of King Kongs diarrhea dumps. Yes folks, it's that bad. My ass has been beaten by so many people and for the first month I was not sober once. Thankfully my tour has been over so I just use Uber Eats for my food so nobody sees me like this. Even though I have not talked to my wolf I still refuse to have s*x with anyone but my Mate. Even if she doesn't wait for me I am more than willing to wait for her. Ronny and I made that agreement when the Goddess gifted me him. I will admit that I am still a selfish jackass, that will probably never change. However, I am trying to change so that I don't make life harder on anyone who decides to be a part of my life. Of course I still want to be a singer but I also know that that was part of my problem. Having everyone idolize me made me the ego-obsessed person I was. I groaned as I reached for my phone, wondering who could possibly be calling at this hour. "What's up Tai? I haven't heard from you since you left with Addie." I asked curiously. "Hey bro, I was wondering if you wanted to move into the pack again. I know that you have been lying low in the States, figured you might want a change of scenery for a while." "You guys have been keeping tabs on me?" I asked suspiciously. "Of course, enemies could use you against us so we are making sure you weren't in danger." Tai explained, making complete sense to me. "Sure man, I really appreciate the offer. Where should I go?" I asked, quickly grabbing a piece of paper and a pen. "Go to our strip and I will have a jet waiting for you, say around noon tomorrow." Tai suggested and I immediately agreed. "Sounds great, see you then man." Allies POV I stretched across the bed to the night stand, grabbing my phone when I heard it buzz. Looking at who I got a message from I was surprised to see it was from Lucas. I groaned loudly, not wanting to read it but knowing that I probably should. "Why so moody? I let you sleep in till ten." I heard Karma mumble from beside me. "Lucas texted me out of the blue and I honestly don't want to read it." I pouted, still staring at his name in my notifications. "Then don't." Karma said simply as if it's that easy. "Babe, I get that you are new here but it's not that easy." I replied, turning to face him. "Then answer it..?" He asked, looking at me confused. "But he probably wants something from me." I groaned, burying my face into my pillow. "What if he doesn't want something from you?" He asked, intrigued about why it was so hard to make up my mind. "Then he is texting me to b***h and vent about s**t that isn't in my control." I reasoned, my voice muffled into the pillow. "Want me to read it then?" He asked leaning over me and kissing my head. I didn't say anything and just nodded, hoping he understood what I meant. I heard him sigh dramatically as he reached for my phone. "Baby, you are over reacting, he is thanking you." He commented before laying back onto the bed beside me. I lifted my head to look into his eyes, confusion on my face. "Thanking me for what?" "Something about you inviting him over, offering him a place in the pack or something." "I... I never invited him." I quickly reached for my phone and called Lucas, his phone instantly going to voicemail. Jumping out of bed, I instantly ran downstairs to try and find my tech guy. Flinging his office door wide open I went to stand in front of him. Jace looked confused as to why I was in front of him in a sports bra and booty shorts, but I just ignored it. "I have a priority mission for you. Don't do anything else until you give me a location on where Lucas is." I barked at him and he just nodded, knowing how important Lucas is to me, regardless of how much I hate him. "Roger Boss." Jace responds immediately before turning to his computer while calling reinforcements to make the search quicker. Leaving the room I go outside to the treeline. Why didn't I keep eyes on Lucas? He is the most gullible person I know. Why would I let him navigate the World alone knowing damn well there will always be a target on our backs? I step up to one of the trees and take a swing, bark flying off and hitting other trees before landing in the grass. Pain courses through my knuckles and up my forearm, pissing me off even more. I continue hitting the tree until my head starts to clear. "Who do you think would do this?" I hear Karma question from behind me, causing me to sigh heavily. "Literally anyone, I am pretty well-known for pissing off the wrong people. They never go for me though, they know I'm no bark and all bite when it comes to putting people in line." I turn to face Karma, breathing heavy. "If they have a pulse and live in either North America or Australia, their name is on the suspect list. That's not including the people I have pissed off while on tour with the band and the people that don't like me because of what my mother did. If you add that up, it's pretty much everyone in the World." Karma steps closer to me, studying me while I try and make a list. "Maybe you are thinking too much. Timing is a very interesting thing. I mean with you switching territories not too long ago, who would know Lucas wasn't with this pack?" Now Karma does have a point. Everyone knows that we were moving to Australia and the only ones who would know he wasn't coming with us would be the two packs involved in the switch. With the tour being over for weeks, his whereabouts could be anywhere, he wasn't on a schedule that just anyone could find. "Are you suggesting we have a mole in our pack or within the alliance?" I question, hoping he knows what he's talking about. "I am suggesting that it may be someone at arms-length to us and not just anyone like we think. Like you said, people know how big your bite is, so they would have to think they are good enough to get away. They would have to be somewhat familiar with the way you think in order to be confident enough to take someone you consider family. Whoever it was wants to get to you, they want to see you affected, watch you squirm. You don't publicize anything about family or anything, so how would they see the effect? They would be just under your nose." Karma explains his thought process, I won't lie, it makes complete sense to me. "It's not going to be the pack North of us if the person is in Australia. Their leader will not be willing to risk his mate, especially since he already has permission to come into my pack house once to twice a week. It would just be too easy for them to do it without even needing to involve Lucas." I explain to Karma, in case he wasn't aware of the current agreement with one of the packs here. "Unfortunately," Karma states and I know I won't like what he is about to say, "we cannot say there isn't a mole in our pack. Someone who wants to rise to the top but also doesn't want to make it a fight. They would want you on edge, slightly distracted, and mentally defective. Willing to give up your place at the top." I sigh dramatically, slightly embarrassed that the reality of this involves having complete trust in another pack and none within my own. Don't get me wrong, I trust Jace completely along with Nathan.... However that is about it. Jace doesn't want a promotion or to even give up the security part of the pack. He doesn't want to lead, he wants to take down threats without actually getting his hands dirty. LUCAS POV I look around the plane, not recognizing a single person onboard. Tai is the only one I know and even then, he isn't paying attention to me, just texting on his phone. Silently analyzing everyone, I try to find the thing they all have in common. Tai is obviously the one in charge here, no surprise there, however he is not giving off the Beta aura that he usually does. My sister either demoted him or he isn't in the pack anymore. Due to not being in a pack I can't tell which pack anyone belongs to. Rogues can't tell pack scents apart, they can only sense the main component. All pack members smell like a bon-fire. Not the burning pineneedles and leafs type of fire, the type of bon-fire where you roast marshmallows and dance around the fire while you share a few drinks with friends. The kind of bon-fire that makes you feel safe and at home, like that is where you are meant to be. After staring at everyone for about an hour and a half, I notice a common tattoo on at least five of the men. The tattoo of a wolf with a snake hanging from the wolf's jaws. Realization hit me as I tighten my jaw slightly. This is not my sisters pack at all. Casually, I clear my throat and look towards Tai. Tai is still looking at his phone, not even giving me the time of day. Slowly, I raise from my seat and make my way to the toilet. If I can't find a way to escape then I have to leave some sort of clue for Addie to find. She may be the smartest person I know, but I doubt she will be able to put together who managed to trick me into this. Or more importantly, who Tai is working for and how much s**t we are in. JACES' POV "Addie, I need you to come to my room." I say over the phone before hanging up, not giving her a chance to ask questions or tell me to wait. Addison is going to be so pissed about us not keeping up with something so simple. Too simple even, how we overlooked something like this is beyond me. It really is the people you trust the most, have the utmost respect for. Disgusting f*****g snakes. "What is so important for me to come right away but not important enough for an office setting?" Addie asks as soon as she closes my bedroom door. "I know who took Lucas." I pause for a second, realizing how it sounds. "I mean I didn't know when you brought the issue to me. However, I pulled Lucas' phone records and I- well, we- know who the person is." Walking towards my bed, I pull out a file. Laying all the information out onto my bed and organizing it in chronological order. "Right after Lucas received a call he texted you, saying thank you for inviting him over and yada yada ya. I didn't recognize the number but after one of my guys looked into it they pulled up the account of which the number is under. We were able to track bank statements and such, there was a large amount of money wired to a private airport. The airport refuses to let the information lose so we will need to go there first. From there we should be able to get information on where to search next." I explain quickly, watching her face as she analyzes everything in front of her. "I need you to find out how long Tai has been planning this. I cut him out of the pack yesterday, there is no way he was able to do all this at the snap of a finger." Addie voices her opinion which makes me stiffen. "If our own Beta went behind you while trying to get the Alpha spot then we are against something even bigger than you think." I say while trying to think of a possible reason for him to turn on us. "I agree it's something big." Addie casually says while looking at the papers one last time. "However?" I ask, knowing damn well she's already thought of a threat and not a single person while I was digging up information. "However, we are a bigger threat and they know it. They have been planning this for a while, so long that they needed something that would affect me to where it will raise their chance of success in the greater mission. Regardless of who Tai is working for, they are't strong enough, even now they aren't. We can count on Beccas' pack helping us and they are ruthless as f**k, waiting to kill and bathe in blood. They were planning this before we moved here which means they more than likely aren't aware of the alliance we have with them. As long as they don't hurt Lucas beyond repair we will be completely fine." Addison finishes with pride on her face, proud of the fear she puts in others. "What happens if they hurt him beyond repair?" I ask, knowing damn well she left that part on purpose. "I will not be responsible for what happens if word gets to me they killed him." Addie smirks at me and there is a spark in her eyes. Begging for someone to think they would get away with something like that. Begging for her to lose control, giving her a reason to lose complete control. "Let's hope it doesn't get to that point." I say aloud since she seems to be fond of the idea of a killing spree. "If it does, the devil himself will cower in Hell, praying to God himself that he will never see me in person."
