I wanted to experience what regular frontline work was really like, so I signed on as a waitress at the hotel my family owned. Of course, my very first shift couldn't just be smooth and boring. I ended up running straight into a raging top-tier VIP throwing a fit for no reason.

"I already told you, it's my grandson's birthday. The least you can do is put a smile on your face and make him feel special."

The little boy was quick to copy his grandma, Emma's bad attitude. Before I could even move out of the way, a whole bowl of steaming hot soup landed with a loud splat onto my uniform.

"You're blocking my cartoon! Get on the floor right now and give me a piggy-back ride! I'm gonna keep riding until my dad gets here!" he screamed.

I was two seconds away from calling security to throw these two out on their asses, but that little brat just got even more cocky and bold.

"My dad is Silas Hayes! All of you work for him! I dare any of you to mess with me!" he bragged.

I froze for a split second, then I found it hilarious. I thought, 'Wait a minute,' wondering when my husband had gotten this so-called 'precious son' of his.

I didn't hesitate for a single second. I pulled out my phone and called the legal department immediately. I said, "Freeze all accounts belonging to my husband within fifteen minutes. And one more thing, tell him I'm divorcing him."

Chapter 1
No sooner had I hung up the phone than that spoiled brat hurled his fork straight at me. I ducked to the side, and the metal fork hit the decorative vase behind me with a loud clang. Furious that he had missed, he stomped his feet and scrambled straight up onto the lazy Susan. "You're not supposed to dodge!" he screamed. "I'm telling my dad to fire you! Then you're going to crawl around and give me a piggyback ride all day!" Snatching up a spoonful of piping-hot mushroom soup, he threw it straight at me. "Dad says employees who don't follow orders deserve what they get!" The soup trickled down the front of my work uniform, the searing heat burning right through the fabric to my skin. A huge stain bloomed across my chest. Seeing me so humiliated, the other servers did not dare to speak. Only the brat's family clapped and cheered, "Good boy! Such a smart grandson already knows how to keep staff in line when he's this little!" That only encouraged the little brat. He got even bolder, actually spitting at me before pointing at the floor. "Get down on all fours!" he yelled. "You're gonna give me a ride. I want to go find Dad!" The assistant manager rushed over, and when she saw how bad things were, she yanked me back immediately. She dove forward, dropped flat to the floor, and said, "I am so sorry, I am so sorry! She is a new hire. She is still learning how things work here. Please do not hold it against her. Come on, climb on and ride on my back." Emma snorted coldly and glared daggers at both of us. After the spoiled brat rode the assistant manager around a few times, he got bored, slid off her back, and darted back off to the private dining room to wreak more havoc. The assistant manager pushed herself to her feet, leaned against the wall to straighten her back, and her eyes were still wide with lingering fear. She leaned in and whispered, "You cannot mess with this family. Did you see that antique gold pendant the kid is wearing? That is the group chairman's family heirloom. It's one of a kind, and he gave it to his own grandson. You can tell how spoiled that kid is! If we offend him, every single one of us is going to pay for it!"
