Ben’s POV
“Sir… sir, you can’t go up there!”
“Watch me.”
The elevator doors close and I wait five seconds for them to reopen once again into the busy precinct.
“Put your hands up in the air!” a nervous police officer shouts, pointing his gun towards me.
I step forward into the office, not bothering to follow his command. Over the years, I’ve come to recognise the look in a man’s eyes when he is about to shoot and this man hasn’t got it in him.
“WHAT THE f**k ARE YOU DOING HERE?” Cal’s voice shouts out angrily from across the room before he begins storming towards me, followed by his partner who appears to be still on crutches from his injury at Club Kaluna.
