Abby’s POV
“Quick! Hurry!” I bark at Ben as the car screeches to a halt in the garage.
He follows me as we make a run for the elevator.
“Abby-“
“I should never have left him.” I interrupt, pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration. “Yuri literally killed a witness to make a point, Ben. It was only a matter of time before he came after us personally.”
“I can’t say I f*****g agree, Abby. I’m glad you stayed at my place. Who knows what might have happened if you didn’t.” Ben answers with equal fury. “This is my f*****g fault. As soon as I brought you onto this case, I should have moved you and your father.”
“You think my dad would have allowed that? Not likely!” I answer as the elevator doors open out into the hallway.
