Mia took a deep breath as Michael pulled up at the school, she slowly exited the car biting her lip trying to not make a sound or face. Mia placed her backpack over her shoulders and gasped a little as pain soared through her body.
"Are you okay Mia?" Sophie asked.
"Yes," She replied with a smile. "The bags a little heavy again but I'm okay."
Sophie nodded her head and began walking into the school halls, Mia tried to follow behind but the pain that was ripping through her body was almost making her faint. Leaning against the school wall taking a few deep breaths, seeing the world in front of her began to spin. Mia hissed and grabbed her head, she needed some more ibprehuon, but she had taken some just before she left.
"Mia?" Liselle asked calling her name, "Mia? Are you alright?"
Mia felt Liselle's hand touch her shoulder. "I'm just a little dizzy" Mia whispered.
Liselle didn't say anything she just slowly took off the bag from her back placing it beside the two of them. Mia sighed in relief feeling the pain that her back was in dial down.
“What do you need Mia? Do you need to sit down? Where's your sister?" Liselle asked as she bit her lip.
Mia shook her head, she has to be okay. She was going to be okay. Mia slowly arched her back upwards so she was standing straight again only for her body to fall towards the ground, Mia heard Liselle gasp before feeling Liselle catch her armpits.
"Mia" Liselle shouted. "Mia stay with me."
Mia's eyes closed and the pain finally left her body. Liselle looked around before picking Mia up, Bradley who was one of Liselle's friends and also of the Arctic Meadows pack had began walking over towards them. He picked up the pace as he witnessed Mia fall to the floor, his brown scruffy hair bounced, his keys bounced in his jean pocket.
Once Bradley had made it towards Liselle and Mia, he had picked up her backpack and carried it inside. He ran with Liselle as she rushed Mia towards the Nurses office.
"Nurse Lovegrove" Liselle spoke as she walked into the office, seeing Nurse Lovegrove walk over. "This is Mia Smith, she fainted outside." Liselle placed Mia on the available bed and turned towards Bradley. "Inform William, he'll need to know and send someone to find her sister Sophie."
Bradley didn't say a word but left the nurses office while Liselle took a seat. Liselle felt her mouth drop as Nurse Lovegrove pulled up Mia's top to see if there was anything wrong.
"My God" Liselle whispered as she saw Mia's torso black and blue, some parts were even a dark purple and yellow colour.
"No wonder she fainted, she's got a massive gash on her forehead that's on the left side of her face, not to mention massive bruise that goes from over her eye to the bottom of her cheek, she's covered it with makeup" Nurse Lovegrove replied as she wrote down in her notepad what she was found.
Liselle bit her lip and wondered how this was happening and when. Does Sophie know? Is Sophie the one doing it? So many thoughts ran through Liselle's head. Nurse Lovegrove pulled down her shirt and the door opened as Sophie ran in, her face was red from the running she has to do.
"How is Mia? What happened?" Sophie asked Nurse Lovegrove frantically.
Nurse Lovegrove looked at Liselle who was shaking her head. Sophie couldn't know yet, there had to be a reason why Mia hasn't said anything and Liselle wanted to respect Mia's wishes even if she doesn't know them. "Mia seemed out of breath this morning, she told me she wasn't feeling well and fainted. I carried her here and Nurse Lovegrove has just finished checking over Mia" Liselle said. She knew it was a lie but she didn't care.
The bell rung signalling for first-class, Sophie bit her lip wondering if she would stay but decided against it as she's already in trouble with the school, "Keep an eye on her please and let me know how she is" Sophie asked as she headed out the nurse's office.
"Are you staying Liselle?" Nurse Lovegrove asked once Sophie had gone. "Is this the luna of William's pack?"
Liselle nodded, "Yes" she replied. "William's asked me to keep an eye on her. Sophie left her this morning outside not realising she had fallen behind. We need to find out what is happening. William won't like this, not one bit."
~^~
Mia's eyes opened, she winced as the lights were so bright. She slowly covered her eyes with her hand and sat up groaning loudly as she did, her body felt stiff and it hurt to move. "Mia? What are you doing? Stay laying down" William asked.
Mia removed her hand from her face and looked up to see William standing beside her, he was wearing a leather jacket, blue jeans and a school top with the tie. "Where am I?" She asked.
"You are in the nurse's office" William replied as he stepped forward. "Liselle told me you had fainted. I came to see how you were doing. Liselle was really concerned for you, she didn't leave your side until I came. I had to beg her to leave."
Mia felt her cheeks heat up, not once has anyone ever done that to her. "Where's Sophie?" She asked wondering why she wasn't here.
"Liselle said she went to her classes" William spoke, his voice sounded upset. "Liselle said she asked the nurse to keep her updated. Liselle also said they found some bruising on your torso and face. What happened?" William asked he sat on the white sofa that was beside Mia's bed.
Mia felt her eyes widen and she wanted to slap herself for being so stupid. Fainting in school wasn't a good idea. Mia felt her body tense her, her throat closed as she coughed trying to get air in. 'A panic attack now' she thought.
Mia gripped her throat and tried to breathe, instantly William jumped into action and grabbed her hands holding them in front of him against his chest. His wolf Axel was going mental once again, William shut his eyes stopping them from changing colour. "Mia just breath for me. Speak to me, what is your favourite place?" He asked.
Mia gasped and coughed harshly into her shoulder, "M-y f-f-favourite p-place is a garden. I-i can sit and relax, I love to draw and read" Mia spoke stuttering every now and again.
"Really? What do you like to read and draw? What's in the garden that you like" William asked, he needed to distract her from this panic attack.
"I lik-e t-to read r-romance and m-my-stery. I draw anything that I see, I love to draw beautiful things" Mia felt her body begin to slowly calm down, how did he know to do this? Not even Sophie's does this. "My favourite thing in the garden is dandelions, they are my favourite flower do you want to know why?"
William opened his eyes and watched Mia open hers, he smiled warmly towards her. "Why is a dandelion your favourite?"
Mia's face opened up as she smiled widely. "I love dandelions because of their beautiful yellow flower and I also like them when they are in bloom because you can blow on them to make the seeds fly into the air. Dandelions make me feel safe and that its okay to be different."
William smiled warmly, now he knew her favourite flower and her favourite places. He also wondered what she drew. "Can you show me your drawings?" He asked, he heard the door open making his head jerk up to see Sophie standing there.
"You're awake, you gave me a scare Mia" Sophie spoke as she walked up and hugged Mia. "Thank you for watching over her William. You and Liselle have been wonderful."
William didn't say anything, he just nodded and stood up, "I'll see you both in physical education." He headed towards the door.
"Didn't you want to see my drawings?" Mia asked as she pulled out the folder from her bag.
William bit his lip, he couldn't believe she actually did it. A lot of people would have said it was personal. "I will but it can wait. I'm sure your sister wants to spend some time with you. Here my number" he said handing Mia a white piece of paper which she grabbed.
He smiled warmly before leaving the nurses office so Sophie and Mia could talk. Sophie sat in front of Mia. "Do you want to go home?" Sophie asked.
"No" Mia instantly said. "No, it's okay. I just got dizzy because I tripped and fell down the stairs last night."
Sophie sighed but didn't push. "Alright let me get Nurse Lovegrove" before she could stand Nurse Lovegrove walked over. "Can Mia leave?"
"Of course" Nurse Lovegrove smiled. "Just make sure to drink plenty of water and here" she gave Mia a few more ibprehuon tablets.
