June : To What Extent

The sun has gone down, 1;06 on clock but June is still awake awaiting the arrival of the independence day celebrations. All she could think of was spending time with her family and having a good time while they light fireworks into the sky. The shapes, the patterns that’s what she looked forward to. As she heads to the kitchen to keep preparing she hears her phone ring in the room     *Ring Ring*   she runs to pick it up   ‘Hello, Yes mother’  June and her mother never been that close she has always been closer to her father but sadly he passed away 6 years during the beginning of the big covid pandemic.  ‘Mother, i can't hear you, is your phone working alright?’  she asks concerned  but hangs up and brushes it off and whispers under her breath  ‘ She will call back later, nothing to worry about’.   1;31 on the clock and June began to get tired so she lays on her bed and slowly begins to close her eyes but doesn’t noticed she left the tv turn on and the news comes up but she doesn’t noticed and the news reporter says  ‘ According to NASA research the world has experiencing a food shortage and many animals are dying off ‘  And they continue to take about all the research but nothing really comes out of it. *Ring Ring*     June’s phone rings but it doesn’t wake up her up        *Ring Ring*  but still no answer. 10:14, A rock breaks June’s living room window  June gets up and notices 19 missed calls but she doesn’t really care for it.     The only thing that’s she’s focused on is what woke her up but she can’t find it She notices the broken window and freaks out  ‘ Omg Omg who would do such a thing, i need to call the police right now’  Irritated she rooms to her room and picks up her phone and dials 911 But they don’t pick.  ‘ that’s strange’ she says to herself   She hears the screaming and shouting outside and as she looks at the window another rock hits her   another window.  ‘ what in the world is happening, who keeps hitting my windows’ She calls back her mother but no answer.   She calls Cece her best friend but no answer, so she grabs her pink and white robe and runs    downstairs to the lobby. She sees the lobby is locked and people are trying to come in and some have packed.   ‘ What’s happening? Why is the lobby door locked? Why is everyone trying to leave? Answer me  For christ’s sake’ she says to Ernesto the lobby man   ‘ Miss everything and everyone is dying’ says Ernesto, shaking. * Tack Tack*    June sees a man punch a pregnant woman outside and thens runs away with her food and money. ‘ what the -- is wrong with you?’ she shouts to the man  ‘ is nobody going to help’ ‘ someone help her, open this door, open this DOOR RIGHT NOW!!’ she says punching the door  But nobody even lifts a finger  She runs upstairs and gets a crowbar and breaks the glass lobby door.   * Smash Smash*    She watches the people running inside rapidly trying to get into any apartments while others Are trying to get out and run away . She runs to help the pregnant women crying on the floor.  ‘ are you okay?’ asks june to the woman  ‘ yes i’m okay’ says the women ‘ thank you for helping but you didn’t have to’ ‘ what kind of jerk does this?’  ‘ absolutely this one’ says the woman jokely  The pregnant woman just gets up and just walks away like nothing  ‘ oh okay so just gonna walk away like’ says June confused.  June runs upstairs traumatized by everything that’s happening  and  Starts going crazy    ‘ i need to lock everything up’ says June shaking ‘ I need to lock the windows, the doors, every possible entry’ she continues .
