JASMINE I didn't stop till I saw the familiar steps that led to my own apartment, I didn't stop till I closed the door behind me, tears threathening to fall down my eyes in a hurry. How...? I asked myself as I slid to the floor hugging my knees. I hadn't looked at the letter fully except the first few words. I glanced at my right hand, squeezing the life out of the envelope or was it the envelope hanging for dear life. I unfolded the paper and carefully spread out the crumpled sheets to reveal Jake's distinct writing. Water clouded my eyes as I began to read the letter out loud. "With this writing, I hereby reject any claim I have had on you. My soul is no longer tied to yours and I have nothing with you and nothing on this Earth can tie me to you as long as we both shall live..." As the last breath from that sentence left my lungs, my heart constrained and my breath became shallow. The words didn't process in my head fast. I took in deep breaths but my insides were set ablaze and my neck ached like nothing I had ever experienced. I groaned in agony, probably waking up the neighbours as I screamed and cried, the pain shooting daggers into my very soul. I crunched down in a fetal position, as the rejection worked it's way to my mind, collections of all our time together as a couple passed by my eyes. The same eyes that now stung with pain and rejection. After a few moments of letting the pain course through me, weak and tired, I began to sob and cry my way through the reminder of it. My wolf yowled in sadness as I cried over what had already been done, as I changed my fetal position to get a tighter pose, I kicked the letter and something caught my eyes. I ignored it but my wolf didn't. It didn't take much to sit up and get the letter from where I had kicked it to, my nose running and my eyes watery and obstructing my vision, I held the envelope as the letter I now destested slipped to reveal another item. Curiousity began to form and my tears slowed down, even though a migraine formed from between my eyes from how hard I had cried buckets, I still wanted to see what it was. I carefully took out the item and realised it was another tiny semi closed envelope. My ears twinged with excitement. What if, it was a prank? What if he wanted to let me know that he was ok and that he had finally come across some huge amount of money, was devastingly rich and was planning to take me away, away from my parents who didn't love me, from the stares that real werewolves gave me when they knew what I was... Away from it all. First,I saw the embroidery and then I saw it. A gasp escaped my lips... "You have been invited to witness the matrimony of omega Jake Towels as he ties the knot, enclosed in this envelope are further details" Talk about insult on injury. I sat for hours, still as the shock rose from within me. *** I walked into the bar with my mind set on one thing and one thing only. I was not going to let Jake win, I was not going to let him rule over me when he wasn't even with me. As more feelings of sadness started to rise within me to cloud my judgement, I slammed my hand against the bar, getting everyone's attention immediately. "Your strongest shots of vodka!" I shouted at the bartender. The bartender had a glint in his eye and I needed something strong to escape from the reality that was now mine and mine alone. I watched as the bartender shuffled between glasses and drinks before picking up a soda and sliding it towards my resting arm. I looked at the can and then at him as if to ask him if he was serious. He smirked and brought out a bottle of pure vodka. His hands moving towards the soda and the glass, all motion pointed to a mixture of some sorts and I inwardly rebelled. "No" I said, defiantly. His movements stopped at once and his brow arched in question. "Make it stronger, 12 shots and coming" I said. Each hardcore clink, each touchdown the glass made with the wooden bar made my head woozy and my mind foggy. The dancing, the gentle sway of hips and the flashing lights brought a smile to my lips as I joined them on the dance floor, my hips swaying ferociously to the rock and roll music that poured from somewhere in the bar. As I swayed, bodies swayed with me until I was sandwiched between three bodies. My wolf although groggy smelled the heavy whiskey on them and something else. Slowly, I stopped dancing and started to sway away from the position I had once been occupying but the more I swayed, the more they followed me. I fully turned my body away and a heavy hand landed on my shoulders, stopping me in my tracks while I nearly stumbled. Another hand helped me stand and took the opportunity to caress the small of my back. "Hey, sh sh" one of the men picked my hand and I groaned, my eyes drooping and my head already banging. "Let us help you" another voice said but I nodded my head as a no. Something about them didn't smell good, they all smelled rotten or maybe it was my drink? "You seem thristy?" The one who didn't let my hand go, spoke against my ear and I moved away from him, confusion eating me up as I stood. "Here, let's get you a drink" another one determinedly said and like a pig, I was led towards the bar. "This lady would have four shots of pure whisky, make it dry!" I heard a voice yell at the bartender, I wanted to protest but I was really thirsty and my body was starting to go limp. After four shots of whiskey, I was swaying more than I wanted to, my eyes hurt and my head banged with fury. I didn't know when I started screaming that I didn't want to go with them, the more I insisted. I heard the blow before I felt the sting on my cheek. The effect was able to wake up my sleeping brain and I realised we were at the curbs. I started to scream for help but another man quickly covered my mouth, I kicked him in the groin and bolted for it, occassionally glancing back at the forms that were gaining on me and nearly stumbling as I hit a brick wall. I fell flat on my bum and looked up to see a hulk of a man looking at me from his nose, I crawled to his legs. "Help me. Please!" I shouted and grabbed his legs even more. "I'd do anything! Help me please!!" I pleaded, desperation clawing at my throat as the idea that I was going to be done for if I didn't get help dawned on me. I heard him grunt heavily before he dashed towards the forms. My head grew heavy and all I heard were the screams of the men, my head spin and my eyes started to close before the strong arms of this stranger picked me up from the dirt. "Where do you stay?" He asked me, as k buried my nose in the crane of his neck, moaning at his scent as it filtered into my nose. "Hmm? Miss?" He said some more but his words were useless as my hands traced the outline of his wide chest. "Since you're more focused on other things, you don't mind spending the next at my place, do you?" He asked one more time but I was left mumbling. The full effect of the drinks dragging me into semi consciousness. I loved the smell he emitted, the buffiness of his muscles and how he wasn't so large but yet he was. His hands, large enough to carry me and his chest that creates outlines in his other wise sinful shirt. My eyes raved the extent of this man as he laid me on a bed, I tried to sleep immediately he pulled the covers on me but something made me hold him by the arm. His gaze turned slowly on me and mine grew hot, I kicked my lips and got out of bed. "Miss?" He asked and I placed a finger on my lips. "You shouldn't leave me alone tonight" I said and when he tried to speak, I drew him closer to me, the distance threathening to place me on hot coals. I was already wet before I took his hands to my breasts.
