ThE ACTING DREAM
At twenty, Daniel had one dream that refused to die: becoming an actor.
Every morning, while others hurried to school or work, he stood before the cracked mirror in his small bedroom, practicing lines from movies he had watched countless times. He imagined cameras surrounding him, directors calling his name, and thousands of people applauding his performance.
But reality was different.
Daniel had no connections, no expensive clothes, and no money for acting classes. His friends often laughed whenever he talked about becoming famous.
“Acting? You?” one of them joked. “Be serious, Daniel. That life is not for people like us.”
Daniel smiled, but their words stayed in his heart.
One evening, after another difficult day, he sat outside his house watching the sunset. His old phone vibrated. A message had arrived from an unknown number.
“Are you interested in auditioning for a short film?”
Daniel stared at the screen.
His heart began beating faster.
He read the message again, wondering if someone was playing a joke on him.
Then another message appeared.
“We need you tomorrow. Come alone. Bring nothing but yourself.”
Daniel looked toward the darkening sky.
For the first time, his impossible dream suddenly felt dangerously close to becoming real.
He typed one word:
“Yes.”
