Zoey's P.O.V

The two hefty men did not stop and when I had become so feeble, they finally stopped and I thought that it was all over now, but Lyra walked closer to me, she held a sharp blade, there was a satisfactory smile on her face and then in just a swift movement, she pierced the blade deep into my heart and pulled out in the most cruel way.

I gasped for breath, but I was choking on it. Why did it had to be my heart that she pierced that blade.

“Goodbye sister, even in my next life, I do not want to meet you ever again!” And that was it. She let go of me as I fell drastically to the ground and at that moment, when my eyes shut and my heart stopped working, I was consumed with regrets. Then I wished that I had a second chance, then there are things that I would have done differently, but it was too late. I trusted the wrong people, and it landed me to my death.

I gasped for breath as I opened my eyes and a trickle of tears rolled down my cheek, yet I could not tell where I was. Could this be heaven?

“Oh mine! She is awake…. Ms. Zoey is awake!” A tiny girl with freckles on her face called out with so much excitement, I sat upright on the large soft bed and my hand went straight to my chest, but there was no blood nor was there a sign of the hole through which the blade pierced.

“Thank God that you are awake, Ms. Zoey, do not try such a thing next time, your mother was so scared, we all thought that we had lost you!” The girl went ahead to complain with joy in her face, but I was still trying to put the pieces together, wondering where I was.

The room looked just like any other and there was no way that this was the afterlife, or was it. “Where am I?” I asked slowly, my eyes still scanning around my environment.

“Ms. Zoey, why would you ask that,you are at home or have you lost your memory? You try to poison yourself so that you do not marry the Alpha king, but your daddy is still consistent with his words and insists that you must marry the Alpha king in order to save our tribe”

She explained but none of what she was saying made any sense to me. “Where am I, where is this place?”

“This Ember pack, and you are the daughter of Elder Stone. You were told that you would be getting married to the Ruthless Alpha king, and you tried to poison yourself just to get out of it”

“Alpha king, Alpha Killian?” I asked with my eyes popped wide open, while I was still a mate to Landon, I had so many stories about him and even Landon was so scared of him.

“Yes….” She answered as she narrowed her eyes at me while she stared suspiciously.

“What is today's date and time?”

“It is the 16th of May 2024, Ms. Zoey, have you lost your memory?”

She asked, and then it all made sense to me what was happening right here, I had reincarnated after my death to the body of another girl who bears the same name as I do and not to mention the fact that today was 16th, the day that I was supposed to get married to Alpha Landon.

“Alpha Killian, how can I meet him?” I asked anxiously as an idea popped through my head, I had just been given another chance of life. I do not know how much time I have, but I am going to make sure that I get the revenge I deserve and who's more of helping me achieve this than the Ruthless Alpha king.

“Ms. Zoey, the Alpha king is coming over today”

“Then what are we waiting for? Help me get dressed immediately, I can't meet him looking shabby”

“Are you sure that we are not going to the hospital? Just yesterday you were ready to do anything in order not to get married to the Alpha king and now, you are so eager to see him.”

“I don't know what you are saying, just help me get dressed. What is your name?”

“Cara!” She replied, and I rushed over to the mirror but as soon as I did, I was stunned by my reflection. I had the same resemblance with my old self, except for a mole close to my nose and the hairstyle as, other than that, I looked the same as my old self.

“Help me get dressed quickly!” I ordered and she reluctantly got right into it.

Killian's POV*****

War was coming and, more than anything, I needed the armories that were owned only by Elder Stone, but in exchange for that, he wanted me to get married to his daughter, who was previously engaged to someone else.

After so much thought, I decided that I was not going to go on with the marriage. Her father was a very cunny man and the last person that I wanted to be involved with, especially in matters that were relating to marriage, so I stormed at their mansion that day, but not for the wedding. I was finally going to inform them that I wasn't going to go on with the arrangements.

I crossed my legs around the other while seated at the living room, while my beta Hunter stood right behind me with a cold expression on his face as we awaited Elder Stone so that I could go ahead and call off the arrangements.

Staring blankly at the glass of wine on the table, a female figure rushed inside. She was dressed in a white silk gown and her light skin was smooth that it radiated in the middle of the day and as she walked towards me, her long blonde hair flew through her shoulder.

“Alpha Killian?” She called out with a polite smile on her face.

“Who are you?”

“I am Zoey, your bride to be?”

“I am here to speak to your father. I am aware that you tried to kill yourself because you do not want this marriage. You have nothing to worry about, because I will be calling it off.”

“What if I do not want you to call it off?” She asked, she seemed so bold, and I was startled by the word that she just spoke. Could it be that Elder Stone was trying to use his daughter to get to me.

“What are you saying, that you want to proceed with the wedding?” I asked cautiously, but she nodded her head and took the seat opposite mine, her eyes piercing at me. I was always 2 and the only child of Elder Stone was a timid and fragile girl but this girl seated right before me seemed strong and the way she looked at me, like someone who knew exactly what she wanted.

“I know that both of us do not want this marriage, but what if we were both benefiting from it, then I guess we can try to tolerate each other for six months.”

“Six months, what are you talking about?”

“That is all I need and in exchange you get the armories that you want, while I also get what I want.”

“And what is it that you want?” I asked her curiously, but she was silent for a while, and then she responded, a smile still plastered on her face.

“I just need to be your Luna for six months. That is all that I want from this arrangement.”

“How can I be certain that your father is going to send in the weapons as agreed ?”

“I will make sure of that, you can hold me accountable for that, because now it is a contract between both of us and no longer my father.”

She explained, and I was silent while I tapped on my finger for a while before I turned to Hunter who stood behind him, he shook his head, and the deal sounded very suspicious. He was a cautious man and I knew that he was not going to approve of it but I still went ahead to accept her deal.

“Fine! But I do have my own conditions!”

“And what are they?” She asked curiously.
