Killian's POV****

“There will be no markings between both of us, we will not sleep on the same bed, we will not eat on the same table but will only attend events together.and most of all, you will not fall in love with me, all you are ever going to be to to me is a contracted Luna and once our contract is over, you will leave with nothing”

I detailed out my condition, although I knew that she must find it too harsh, but she was the daughter of the man who killed my father and I couldn't be more careful.

“Agreed!” She stretched out her hand for a handshake, but I ignored her and rose to my feet.

“Inform your parents that the wedding is tomorrow and I expect only family members because it should be as swift as possible and as expected, it will be held in my pack's hall”, I explained coldly and before she would say another word, I started walking away with Hunter tagging along.

“Alpha, what did you just do? Didn't you realize that this is a trap?” Hunter queried as soon as it was just th both of us inside the car.

“i do not care, this is a rare opportunity for me where I get to kill two birds with a stone and you do not expect that I am going to let this opportunity slip out of my grasp.”

*What are you saying?”

“I am saying that with this contract, I can finally get close enough to Stone. That way find out more truth about the death of .y sister before I can take action and I might end up using his daughter to get more weapons than we bargained for”

“Don't you think that is a bit harsh, especially to his daughter, who is just caught on the web between you and her father?”

“I do not care, Stone is a ruthless man and anyone from his family should not b treated with sympathy. Besides, she asked for this contract Marriage, least I can do is to exploit it as much as possible.”

I explained, Hunter nodded his head, steered off the engine of the car and was about to drive off before he asked again.

“Don't you find it suspicious that the only thing that she wants from this marriage is just to be with you for six months?”

“Obviously she has a plan and that is where you come in, find out what she is up to and who she has met since th attempt she tried on her life. Looks like her decision suddenly changed after trying to kill herself. No doubt she met with someone who offered her a way out and, from the look of things, it is not going to work in my favor.”

“Yes Alpha, I will get right into it as soon as we arrive at the pack” Hunter responded as he navigated the car, trying back to the pack.

Zoey's POV****

After I was done speaking to Alpha Killian, I hurried back upstairs when a middle age woman called out to me, she stared at me from head to toe with concern in her eyes before she embraced me so tightly that I could barely breath.

“My poor baby, I was so scared that I thought that I had lost you” She cried out with her hands wrapped around me, but I immediately pulled away from her.

“Who are you?” I asked, and her jaws almost dropped to the ground with her eyes wide open, she turned to stare at Cara who was standing right behind me with both her hands clasped together.

“Cara, what is going on here? Why does my daughter don't recognize me”

“Ma'am, this is what I wanted to talk to you about, but you were so excited to hear that she is awake that you wouldn't listen to me, I think that Ms. Zoey might have lost her memory”

“What!! Have you called the doctor?”

“No, I wanted to inform you first, because she seems to be acting strange, like the fact that she suddenly agreed to marrying the Alpha king.”

“What! Cara go get the doctor at once!!” The middle aged woman whose eyes were filled with concern yelled out at the servant girl and she dashed out of there while she held my arm and helped me sit down.

“Are you alright Zoey, do you feel pain anywhere or does your head hurt?”

“I am perfectly fine, I just don't remember anything.”

“You do not remember anything and also the fact that I am your mother and yet you were so quick to decide that you were going to marry the Alpha king, I am slowly getting through to your father to call off the wedding, why would you suddenly ruin everything?”

“I know that I do not have a memory, but the Alpha king is the most powerful Alpha in the entire city of Falcon, why would anyone not want to get married to him?”

“Exactly why you should not be in a rush, you tried to kill yourself just to run away from marrying him, shouldn't you realize how ruthless he is”

She explained and even while she did, her words were so tender as she picked them bit by bit, staring at me with all affection which reminded me of Lyra. Lyra was usually so sweet with me and with this woman, I could not tell if her affection is real or not”

“I will speak to your father and have him give you Alpha a call. We can't proceed with the wedding. You are my only child Zoey and I am so scared that something might happen to you.”

“No ma, do not call off the wedding please!”

“Do you even understand what you are saying or who we are talking about? This is a man who single-handedly slaughtered an entire village and killed his mate. He is not capable of love because his heart has been replaced with stone and trust me when I say that he will do the same to you at the slightest mistake that you make, I can't have that.”

“But that is what I want, please….” I pleaded and just then, the large door swung open, a huge male figure stepped in as his presence sent chills down my spine.
