1171 Words
Seresa stood outside the grand ballroom, her heart heavy with apprehension as she prepared to enter the lavish party her parents had insisted she attend. Despite the heated arguments of the past days, she had reluctantly agreed, hoping to appease her parents and ease the tension that had engulfed their household. As she stepped into the opulent venue, Seresa was greeted by the familiar faces of her parents' friends and acquaintances, their smiles and well-wishes ringing hollow in her ears. Among them stood an old friend, whose cheerful greeting momentarily lifted Seresa's spirits, until her next words shattered her world. "Congratulations, Seresa!" her friend exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement. "I can't believe you're finally getting married!" Seresa's blood ran cold as the realization dawned on her – this wasn't just any party, it was her own engagement celebration. Anger boiled within her as she struggled to contain her rising fury, her hands trembling with betrayal. Turning on her heel, Seresa stormed toward her parents, her eyes blazing with righteous indignation. "How could you do this to me?" she demanded, her voice trembling with rage. "You made me a fool, parading me around like some prize to be won!" Her parents exchanged a guilty glance, unable to meet her gaze as the weight of their deception hung heavy in the air between them. Seresa's heart ached with a sense of profound disappointment, her trust in them shattered beyond repair. Before her parents could offer an explanation, Louise appeared at her side, his presence only serving to stoke the flames of Seresa's anger. "Please, Seresa," he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation. "Don't make a scene. It's done, it's already out there. Just accept it." Seresa's fists clenched at her sides as she turned to face him, her eyes flashing with contempt. "Accept it?" she spat, her voice dripping with disdain. "I'd sooner burn this place to the ground than accept anything from you." As Seresa's world crumbled around her, the weight of betrayal bore down on her shoulders like a crushing weight, threatening to suffocate her. Tears welled up in her eyes, blurring her vision as she struggled to contain the tidal wave of emotions crashing over her. "I trusted you," she choked out, her voice raw with anguish. "I trusted you both, and you betrayed me." Her parents recoiled at the accusation, their own guilt mirrored in their eyes as they struggled to find the words to explain their actions. But before they could utter a single syllable, Louise interjected, his voice dripping with condescension. "Come on, Seresa," he sneered, his tone laced with disdain. "You knew this was coming. You knew we were meant to be together." Seresa's jaw clenched with fury at his audacity, her fists trembling with the urge to lash out. "Meant to be together?" she seethed, her voice barely above a whisper. "You cheated on me, Louise. You broke my heart, and you expect me to marry you?" Louise's face flushed with anger, his fists clenching at his sides as he struggled to maintain his composure. "That's in the past, Seresa," he spat, his words dripping with venom. "We can move past it. We can have a future together." Seresa's eyes blazed with fury as she advanced on him, her chest heaving with each ragged breath. "I don't want a future with you," she snarled, her voice rising with each word. "I don't want anything to do with you." As Seresa's voice echoed through the grand ballroom, the tension in the air grew palpable, hanging heavy like a storm cloud on the verge of unleashing its fury. Louise's face contorted with rage, his fists clenched at his sides as he struggled to contain his simmering anger. "You're making a scene, Seresa," Louise hissed through gritted teeth, his voice barely above a whisper. "You're embarrassing yourself." But Seresa was beyond caring about appearances. The betrayal she felt burned hot within her, fueling the fire of her defiance. "I'm embarrassing myself?" she shot back, her voice rising with each word. "You're the one who cheated on me, Louise. You're the one who destroyed everything we had." Louise's nostrils flared with indignation, his eyes flashing with a dangerous light. "I made a mistake," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "But that doesn't mean we can't move past it. That doesn't mean we can't be happy together." Seresa's lip curled with disdain as she took a step closer to him, her gaze never wavering. "Happy together?" she scoffed, her voice dripping with derision. "You think I could ever be happy with someone who betrayed me? Someone who lied to me, who manipulated me into this?" Louise's face twisted with fury, his hand trembling with the urge to strike out at her. But before he could react, Seresa's parents stepped between them, their expressions filled with concern and apprehension. "Please, calm down," her mother pleaded, her voice quavering with emotion. "This isn't helping anyone." But Seresa was beyond reason, her anger burning bright like a wildfire out of control. "How could you do this to me?" she cried, her voice cracking with raw emotion. "You're supposed to be my parents. You're supposed to protect me, not throw me to the wolves." Her father's face paled at her words, his eyes filled with remorse. "We were just trying to do what we thought was best for you," he murmured, his voice barely audible above the din of the crowd. "We thought this would make you happy." But Seresa shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears. "I don't want your version of happiness," she whispered, her voice barely a whisper. "I want to make my own choices, to live my own life, free from your expectations and demands." As Seresa stormed out of the party, her heart heavy with anger and betrayal, she felt a sense of desperation wash over her. She needed to escape, to get as far away from her parents and their expectations as possible. Without a second thought, she approached a stranger standing by the entrance, her eyes flashing with determination. "Can you help me?" she asked, her voice trembling but determined. "I need to get out of here, away from all of this." The man regarded her with a steely gaze, his expression unreadable. "Where do you need to go?" he asked, his voice low and commanding. Seresa hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether she could trust him. But then, a surge of desperation swept over her, pushing her to take a leap of faith. "Anywhere," she said, her voice steady. "Just take me far away from here." The man nodded curtly, offering her his hand in silent agreement. Without a word, Seresa took it, feeling a sense of relief wash over her as she allowed herself to be led away from the suffocating confines of the party. As they disappeared into the night, Seresa couldn't shake the feeling that she was stepping into the unknown, into a world filled with danger and uncertainty.
