I am very delighted seeing the house I could only remember through some old picture my Auntie Judy showed to me. I can't believe that the house is still well maintained and a bunch of different flowers blooming around it, which is really pleasing in the eyes. Without hesitation, I picked up my two big suitcase and walk to the main door of the house. Base from what the secretary of the person that taken good care of my parent's house the key is under a red rose pot right next to the door. Spotting the only rose pot, I lifted it up and saw a key beneath it. I happily picked it up and unlocked the main door. Bringing my suitcase in and scanning the surrounding of the house, I took a deep breath and shouted out "mom! Dad! I'm home!" like a crazy person but I feel like I knew they would be happy that I'm finally back to the place where I was born. Walking upstairs I realize that I don't have any recollection of how the house looks like from before. I was only one when I became an orphan. Losing both my parents at a young age, I am blessed that my aunt Judy took care of me and treated me like her own daughter too... even though aunt has already two girls and two boys, I never felt that I was an outcast in the family. All the Love was given equally to all of us. The house is warm, filled with love. A warm feeling touches my heart remembering them. I suddenly miss Aunt Judy's warm hug and her calming scent. Remembering I came in without calling the people who take good care of my parents' house, I decided to dial the secretaries' number. I want to let them know that I arrived safely, and to say I really wanted to thank them personally for taking good care of the house. After two rings, an old baritone voice with an Asian accent answered it. "Lady Emily, what can I do for you?" Yamato asked very politely and civil. For me, it's kind of old-fashioned style calling her Lady instead of Ms., but I dismissed the thought and answered back. "Good afternoon Mr.Yamato, I would like to inform you that I arrived safely and thank you for taking good care of the house. If it's not a hassle would it be alright if I invite you and your boss to a dinner here in the house this coming Friday?" I asked enthusiastically, but the other line went quiet for a few seconds before I heard Yamato cleared his throat. " I'm sorry for the delayed response Lady Emily, but I was not informed that you would be arriving today." "Ohh really? However, I sent you an email a week ago. I thought you had read it, I said to my email that I would be moving back to this house today, Wednesday August twenty two. I'm so sorry that I forgot to call you before I travel here." I quickly apologized for my unmannered behavior. Come to think of it why didn't I call before i flew on the airplane from New York back in Spain. It's a long trip, and I was very exhausted. All what's inside my mind is to be far away from New York as fast as possible. Sigh... I really want to smack my head for being impolite. "Forgive me Lady Emily if that's so, I am very sorry...getting old sometimes gave me some problem remembering things. I know you send me an email, but I haven't read it because of a work-related issue I had to fix. Anyway I'm glad you arrived safely. Please wait for me, I will be coming over later this afternoon just finishing some paper work. Please stay at home and don't wonder outside the house."Yamato said casually but I hint on some trouble in his voice. "Sure, I won't. I'll be waiting for you Mr.Yamato and thank you " "No worries, it's my pleasure Lady Emily. Welcome back home, by the way..." he said before the line was out. I smiled, At least someone welcome me here. Looking around the three bedroom, I decided to put my suitcase to the one at the end corner. I know the middle room is my parents' room, but I don't want to sleep there. Scanning the room I picked, a smiled form on my lips when I saw a pot of plant blooming with flowers next to the window. I can't believe that the house was really taken good care for all the years that it was empty it doesn't look lifeless or dulled. Instead, It feels warm and cozy. Even though it's really hot outside, which reminds me of the weather in south-east Asia. Compared back in New York where I grow up the winter time could be extremely cold, although I'm used to it. Still I prepared warm weather than freezing cold. Remembering something I was running away from there I decided to change my clothes and make something that I could eat.
