Chapter 3 *Curious Cat* Emily's Pov I walked down the stairs after changing to more comfy clothes wearing a black cotton v-neck shirt and a navy blue short lengthening halfway up from my knees showing off my slender milky white legs. I decided to walk straight to what it seems like a kitchen in my eyes. looking around the room and opening each of the cabinets and drawers whom I see. I am so amazed that not a single spider web was on it. There's no dust, literally the house is super super clean! There's also a complete kitchen utensil, like cooking pot, oven, microwave, and stuff that you need for preparing food. It gives me a vibe that someone is living here, while I wasn't around. Well, I can understand that, and I don't feel offended at all. It's normal to have someone living here in order to make the house clean and pest free. Actually now that I think about it, It's really a hassle for a person to move back and fort everyday just to maintain the cleanliness of my parents' house. The gardening outside only indicate how passionate and lovely the person that took care of it. I mean all the lettuce and spices I saw in the garden is green and luscious that I have to stop myself not to harvest them and make some salad out of it. After deciding on what I could cook easily I choose a sandwich with scramble egg and bacon. I cut first the bacon in a cube size and when it's all chopped, I started to crack two eggs I found in the fridge whisking it with a pork since I'm too lazy to find the wire whisker. I began putting two breads in the toaster before adding the chopped bacon together with the scramble egg. Normally, people cook first the bacon before adding the beaten egg, but I hate it when the bacon gets hard it's much nicer eating it soft, and I think it's more tastier doing so. The smell of the toast bread mix with scrambled egg and bacon, made my stomach grumbles. I quickly prepare my food and steal some carrot juice in the fridge. I know it's not polite to use the food in the fridge, but I guess when you're really hungry your survival instinct naturally kicks in. I was too excited to think about buying food on the way here. When the airplane lands, and I manage to pass the immigration. I took the first available taxi I saw in the airport and told him where I'm heading to. The taxi driver was a nice and polite person but when I asked him to bring me to my doorstep, he said no with a trouble look marred in his face. I sigh... I can't believe he just dropped me off here with my two big suitcase. Without a choice, I walk to the cemented road all the way up until I reach the sight of my parents' house. I heave a heavy in, and out deep breathes. "Wooh! Now... that's what you call a real exercise!" I exclaimed while still panting. After steadying my breathing I look around and saw how beautiful the town looks like from here. I wiped the beads of sweat forming on my forehead and on the side of my temple, it was then I notice the crystal clear river separating the town in two. The bridge above it is the only road you can use to cross the other side of the town. Turning around I can see the forest and the high mountain that looks so marvelous seeing it up close. "Not bad, this place really has a good spot for sight seeing." I uttered to myself. To be honest I really didn't expect much to come here. All I want is to start a new life. Far from all the drama and free from doing things I'm already accustomed to do, which slowly suffocates me. Now I felt less guilty and start consoling myself that I did the right thing on returning to my birth land. Everything looks perfect but there's only one thing that bothers me. Being a curious cat, I wonder why that taxi driver didn't drop me off my place when there's a nice cemented road all the way up here. I wonder why he looks like his scared of something that the moment, I paid him, and he handed me my two suitcase, he drove away as fast as he can. "Hmn... that's really odd..." But anyways maybe the property is off limits. That's why the taxi driver doesn't want to go further. Or maybe his person that has a lot of imaginations and was scared of ghost? Well, the forest looks intimidating and scary to ordinary people but being a doctor and believing in scientific explanation. There's no proof that ghost really exists.
