Chapter 20Javi’s door buzzed and he answered it to Arien and Tapuh.
“Hey, come in!” Tapuh followed Arien in, but stayed by the door. “Good to see you. Are you here to show me the way to dinner?”
“That and it gives me a breather from the politicking.” Arien flopped down on the bed with a sigh. “And it hasn’t even really started yet. Only briefings so far. The real machinations haven’t even started.”
Javi glanced over at Tapuh, but they were in full bodyguard mode, face impassive, looking like they couldn’t see or hear anything. Arien looked around the convalescence room.
“The doctors say you can be discharged from here now?”
“Yeah. Not a moment too soon. I feel as if I’m being watched every minute of the day and night. Cramps my style no end.”
