More then just friends

Chapter 4

New start

I woke up the next day. My new bed is so nice. I even bought curtains that hang on the four posters and I can close them.

I get up and shower and get ready for the day. I hear a knock on the door, wondering who that could be. I go down the stairs and open the front door to see Mike standing on the other side.

Mike: "Good morning I didn't mean to bothet you. My grandmother send me to find out if you are happy with your purchase."

I smile at him.

Natty: "Morning , tell your grandmother yes I am very pleased with my purchase. I love my bed."

Mike: "I will tell her she will be so pleased. You are her first big customer. She wasn't sure she would ever sell that bed, nobody around here has money to buy it."

Natty: "Glad I could help her. I have a large sum of money that my grandmother left me. Tell your grandmother I will stop by later today I still need a couple of things for my home."

Mike smiles and tells me he will and leaves.

I go into the kitchen and start making myself some breakfast. Bacon and eggs , with toast. I hear another knock on the door as I was about to sit and eat.

I get up and open the door to find Lucy standing there.

Lucy: "Good morning, I hope you slept well. I came by to ask if you wanted to go into town I need to go buy some groceries."

I smile.

Natty: "Yes I do want to go to town I still need to buy a couple of things. Was wondering if there is a job available in town to keep busy."

Lucy: "Maybe we can find you something in my grandmother's shop she owns the pharmacy."

Natty: "That would be so great thank you.

I made some breakfast do you want? I made to much I was going to put away the rest but you can join me then we can leave afterwards?"

Lucy: "That sounds great thank you I haven't eaten yet."

We eat and chat a bit, we cleaned up and then she went to get her purse. We took her pickup truck. She insisted for incase I decided to buy something she said.

We got into town and went to the supermarket. I bought snacks and got a few more things for my cupboards. I found the cutest lamp for my bedroom. And books from authors I love. I went to checkout and I Lucy was standing behind me. I came to the cashier and whispered that I would pay for ger groceries as well, she smiled and nodded she told me more or less what what it will cost and I gave her the extra cash.

I waited for her to ring up her purchase and when she wanted to pay the cashier told her what I did. She started crying and hugged me I did not expect that. She was very quiet all the way to her grandmother's pharmacy. She stopped outside and before I got out she stopped me.

She looked at me with tears in her eyes and told me that she has never been taken care of she always took care of everyone else. She wasn't use to people buying anything for her, she was crying at this point and all I could do was hold her. She thanked me and gave me a soft kiss on the mouth.

She pulled herself together and wiped her eyes. We went inside and she greated her grandmother and introduced me. Her grandmother smiled and greated me. Lucy asked her grandmother who's name is Issabella but everyone calls her Issie, if there is anything that I could do for her in the shop. Issie told her that I could help her pack the racks. I looked at Lucy so this is where she worked and I smilled. That meant I could get to know Lucy better.

We helped her grandmother fill up the shop and afterwards we went out for milkshake. I enjoyed my little job. And I stayed busy.

I was already fitting into my new home and town without any problems and I loved the people and the town. I felt more at home then I ever have anywhere else.
