Then Arlo spoke to Leilah.
"I need to go for some important work which needs my presence. If you need anything just, think about me and I'll be right next to you." With that said he went out walking from his room. The moment he was out of her sight, he teleported to his special agents, who were vampires.
She was now left with the two nurses, who were the witch's assistants. They asked her if she needed help in anything and she politely refused.
LEILAH
The king is a nice man, but he is kind of intimidating. I don't ever want to come face to face with him. I'll take a quick nap and then get back to the room given to me before he gets back from his work.
[In Research Chamber]
This is a secret and special place which was built by Arlo for conducting research on extremely puzzling things which had no solution. He had got this done when his father was around.
Only his most trusted members are allowed entry in here, including Blyke and Rao.
Arlo went straight to the leaders there and spoke to them.
"I want you both to check on the genes of the blood on my shirt's collar and check on everything you can find." Arlo ordered them.
"Is there anything in particular you are looking for?" One of them asked Arlo.
"Jay I want the family history and everything that can affect the way she is right now. and most importantly, what is she in real, like the breed." Arlo said.
"Is this the Luna's blood sample?" One of the man named John asked politely.
"Yes. Try to get as much out of this." Arlo replied.
"But we need the real blood sample for getting family details, not just a few stains on your shirt." John said.
"Work with this for now. Get whatever you can from this."
"Okay, Alpha King, Arlo. we'll inform when we need the real sample." Jay said as he bowed.
"Alright. And one more thing." Arlo said as he sighed.
"What is it, Alpha King, Arlo?" John asked.
"I need you to put a spell where King shouldn't show physical reaction to Leilah's touch till we mate." Arlo said as the both laughed.
"Haha yes, Alpha King. We'll do that. you can stay carefree from now as far as your wolf form is concerned."
With that Arlo went for his daily work of kingdom related stuff, handling peoples' problems and deal with the ways to improve his land and wealth.
[Later That Night Arl's Office]
Blyke returned to Arlo's office looking and exhausted.
"You look all drained out." Arlo said.
"THis by far is the most tiring assignment I have ever received. There is no proper trace of who Luna's parents are. I really had to dig in deep for whatever I have found."
"So, what have you found?" Arlo asked.
Blyke placed a few papers in front of Arlo on his table. Arlo took the papers in his hand and Blyke spoke.
"She is an orphan. Her parents apparently dropped her at the door of an orphanage and left. They are said to have died on their way to some place. I don't know where they were heading though. I need more time to solve this thing."
"What thing? About the parents?" Arlo asked confused.
"Yeah. Apparently, Luna's parents were behaving very strange when they had left her there. they were captured by a CCTV camera at the door. I have asked our trusted omegas to look for information about the couple in the picture. I'll give you all the details by sundown tomorrow."
"What else did you find out? Anything about Leilah?"
"The orphanage people said that she used to have strong nightmares when she was around 5 or 6 years of age. She used to wake up screaming and run around the room. A lot of cooing was needed to control her. There was no particular person she was attached to. But she used to often look at a book which was left by her parents in her cradle. She stopped doing that by the time she reached her teens. They also said that she grew up very quickly for her age. "
"What does that mean?" Arlo asked frowning.
"Uhm they said that she grew up umm physically pretty fast. Like when most of the girls of her age would be skinny or chubby. she had turned out to have the perfect shape of a fully grown woman. I hope you understand what I'm trying to convey, Alpha King." Blyke said.
"Okay. I get it. What else? Anything out of the normal?"
"One particular thing they said was that one night when she was sleeping, a huge shadow-like thing had come to her room and stood right next to her sleeping form. The keepers of the orphanage were to too scared to go anywhere near it, and so they decided to watch it and act only if it tries to harm her. But they said that after some time, that shadow-like thing vanished in thin air. When they went to check on Luna, they found her sleeping soundly."
"It must be the same thing I saw when I had gone to get her to meet the witch doctor this morning." Arlo said making Blyke confused.
"Same thing? It was here? In this castle?"Blyke asked confused.
"Yes and it wasn't just standing next to her. It was attacking your Luna. It was choking her and when I reached close to it, it vanished in thin air. I didn't even see what it was, except that it was a shadow-like thing. I could see its arms around her neck, and it looked like it wanted to harm her."
"So it was stronger than you?" Blyke asked.
"I guess. But what made you think so?"
"If it was any weaker, you would have caught it and killed it by now for touching your mate."
"Hmmm. I have a task for you." Arlo said making Blyke look at him.
"What would that be?"
"Since Leilah is a bit more friendly to you, I want you to try and get her to talk about her past. If I do, then she might hesitate. But I feel she would be able to talk to you freely."
"Okay, Alpha King, Arlo. but I do have a feeling that she would open up to you the same." Blyke smiled.
ARLO
Now how do I tell him that she will do just fine, but it is me who feels overexcited and blab out s**t when she is around.
"Let her speak to you first."
"Okay." Blyke said and was about to leave when Arlo spoke.
"Hey wait, Let us go together."
[After Sometime In Arlo's Room]
One of the nurses woke you up and spoke.
"Miss, Blyke is here to see you." The nurse said to Leilah.
LEILAH
Oh, How nice of him!
"Along with the King." The nurse smiled.
"King?"
