Chapter Two!

1723 Words
“Eriksen family,” a man with long, white, wavy hair and bright blue eyes stepped in front of the rest as my father had just stepped out of the carriage. “Welcome to my wonderful home,” he clapped his hands together with a wide smile spread across his face. “I know you’ve all had a long journey, please, follow Greyson to the rooms that you all will be staying. It is only three in the afternoon, so I hope to see you all for dinner. I will send Greyson to come back for you all,” the man held his hand out as another stepped forward with his arms behind his back. His long sandy blonde hair brushed against his shoulders. His eye eyes peered around to us all as he bowed his head lightly to my father. I watched his every move before side glancing Beckett. Beckett glanced back at me with a small smirk on his lips and a subtle shake of his head. I narrowed my eyes at him to straighten up at such a formal ceremony that always takes place in the first meetings. “What?” Beckett mouthed shrugging his shoulders putting his hands up in question. “Am I interrupting something?” The man called Greyson asked with a c****d brow. “Nope,” Beckett popped the p, clasping his hands behind his back. “Great, follow me this way,” Greyson turned on his toes walking up the granite steps. I bowed my head slightly to the welcoming crew, squeezing past the tight shoulders. Journee responded with the same light nod watching me as I walked by. I swung my hand up knocking Beckett in the back of the head. Beckett’s hand went to his head, rubbing at the spot with a deep glare. I raised my hand once more to tell him not to test me when I heard snickers from behind me. I turned with many eyes watching my every move, feeling the heat rush to my cheeks of embarrassment. I looked away running through the doors before they closed. The castle on the inside was just as dark and morbid as the outside. A deep red color lined down the marbled floor with its velvety texture. Candle sticks lined down the walls only giving minimal lighting, keeping it an intense feel. The walls were black, gold strips around the door boarders and ceiling edges. Guards stood along the walls, only able to stare forward at the guard across from him. What they were guarding? I’m not sure since there were no doors. They had blended in perfectly with the walls, being in straight black with subtle hits of red and gold. Their head gear had sharp ends that could slice through a being if they wanted to. Metal pieces twisting on their cheek bones to keep the head shield in place. Their jaws were locked in place, grimacing as anyone who dared to look at them, it wasn’t inviting, it was off putting and unwanted glaring. Beckett slowed his steps till he was at my side looking at each and every guard that we passed by. He stepped closer to me as one of the guards looked him in the eye with a glare that could kill. He wrapped his arm around mine almost tripping over my foot to stay close. I pulled my arm away quickly, stepping to the side slightly. “What are you doing?” I scowled, whispering under my breath. “These guys are scary,” he bent down to whisper in my ear. “Should I choose a different Beta? I didn’t think I had picked a p***y to be by my side,” I c****d a brow at him with a hidden smirk. “Nope,” he straightened his shoulders with a puff of air. He walked as if there was a stick up his bum and his arms out to the sides. He looked at a guard, giving him a tight jaw nod like he would intimidate the man. The guard squared his shoulders and stepped forward with a single step. Beckett quickly stepped along with me and a small yelp escaping from his mouth. “Oh for f***s sake,” I shook my head closing my eyes. “Beck, I’m leaving you in your room.” “Is there a problem down there?” Everyone started to slow their paces in front of us. “No, just so happens that I brought a little girl with me,” I pushed Beckett making him bump into a guard. Beckett groans tip toeing away as quickly as possible while wiping himself off. I could hear the faint laughs of Greyson humming in the air. I rolled my eyes to quicken my steps to get away from Beck’s child like actions, he had started to get on my nerves with his acts. I looked at the ground watching the golden swirls circling around on the marbled floor. I hadn’t noticed that Greyson had come to a complete stop as I bumped into the back of him. “Son of a-“ I caught myself in my words as I looked up rubbing my forehead. A very large man was walking towards us looking vaguely familiar, making me pull my scarf up higher on my face. His black hair waved down his neck, hanging just above his shoulders, half of it tied into a knot at the top of his head. Breads adored around his strong jawline with golden clasps. His green eyes caught a glimpse of mine making me look back down at the ground before he could recognize me. His eyebrow screwed up as if he had known who I was the moment he saw me. “General,” Greyson bowed his head slightly along with everyone else walking with us. “Greyson,” the man bowed his head as well. “Who are we escorting this evening?” I looked up through my brows as his eyes continued to stare holes into my head. I looked back down as everyone else straightened up with smiles with the realization of who it was. Beckett slowly stepped closer to me, I turned slightly to him before stepping closer to him needing the comfort of someone familiar. The man’s head c****d to the side before a smile quirk of his lips curled up once he had put the pieces together. “It’s the Eriksen family, my lord,” Greyson turned with his hands out to greet us all. “Awe,” he lifted his head a little higher with a smug look on his face, the same look that I had hit when I was young. “Of course it is, I would recognize Tyra Eriksen anywhere.” “Who is that?” Beckett whispered to me while I shook my head in defeat. “Well now I’m offended,” Tobias put his hand to his chest in a mocking manner. “I was close friends with her,” I shot my head up meeting his eyes with my own narrowed. “I’m surprised she didn’t speak of me, Tobias Volkov,” he reached his hand out to shake Beckett’s. “Ohhh,” Beckett chuckled taking ahold of Tobias’ hand with a small shake. “She did tell me about you,” he pointed to Tobias still laughing. “You’re the guy that she attacked for being a d**k,” gasps filled the hall along with my own. Tobias looked back at me with wide eyes, but I could see the shining of guilt swirling around. I turned away from him in my own guilt for even telling Beckett about Tobias’ and I past. Tobias had been that one person throughout growing up that was constantly close by and the one that always made fun of me. I felt guilty for getting caught, but I never felt guilty for hitting him. We were in the same scales of hierarchy, yet he treated me as if I was below him, it ticked me off. “That would be correct,” he continued to stare at me until I looked back at him. “I guess you can say that as a young boy, you don’t know how to act around a girl,” I scoffed with the roll of my eyes before I pushed past everyone. “Tyra!” I could hear Greyson call after me. “You don’t know where your room is!” I turned as everyone watched me storm off with the flick of my hand. I didn’t know where my room was going to be, but I also didn’t plan on going to a room. I always had a safe place to go to when I had gotten caught for anything I had done. This castle was huge, it was the same as I had remembered from when I did live here. There were doors all over the castle that I could easily squeeze through until it was dinner time. I started to run down the halls, looking over my shoulder so often to make sure no one was following me. I turned down a hall the no one had ever really used, it seemed that it still wasn’t used. The hall didn’t have candles like all the others, no guard stood on point to watch the area, it was just a black abyss. I turned around once more not seeing anyone there except the guards lined on the opposite side, not paying any attention to me. I took steady steps down the hall until I was met with a large metal door that had a door handle like a volt. I pulled on one of the large pieces of metal until the door started to slide open slowly. A cloud of stale water punched me in the nose making my eyes water, a wave of air whistled into the hall. I could only see the beginning of stairs as they spiraled down. Webs hung in the hinges of the room as the creatures scattered away for shelter. It was a hole that monsters lived in. A place that I had become accustomed to with all the time I had spent here, the tortures that came with being close to the royal family.
