Prologue
Razel Sanchez, a woman who loves writing, spent her entire life writing stories about people who fall in love. A love story she never experienced. All her worries and rants about life were written inside her stories and people loved them. People loved her as an anonymous writer online. People loved her because of her work, but never her, the real her. "Hey Raze, I'm going to the club tonight. Are you comin'?" Stefan, her best friend asked. "James and Paula are coming too." "I'll pass, I have things to do." "You mean you will write a story again?" he rolled his eyes. "Mind your own business, jerk." they both laughed. "Besides, I know that the three of you will just hook someone tonight." she smirked. "I don't want to get in your way." "You're not wrong, but isn't it fun to drink with us?" "And watched you three make out? Uh, no, thanks." Stefan laughed and then walked towards Razel and kissed her forehead. "Okay, I won't disturb your writing session. Just beep me up if you need anything, okay? I'll be one call away." "One call away your ass." Razel rolled her eyes. "The last time I called you when I needed something all I could hear was groans from you and that-who was that again?" "Which one?" Razel threw a pillow at Stefan and they both laughed. "You spend too much with people and hook with them! Get out!" "Love you, Raze. I'll be back at 3 o'clock in the morning." Stefan shouted when he was already on the stairs. "I doubt that!" she smiled. "Please use a condom! I don't want a godmother!" "I can't impregnate a person who has a d**k, genius!" She laughed, and then she heard the main door close. Razel couldn't help but to shake her head. Stefan was her childhood friend, a closet gay friend of his, and they had been staying in a home in the city since they moved out of each other's family. She also has two l***q+ friends; James Johnson, an out gay, and has a boyfriend. Paula Kingston, a lesbian friend of hers who also has a long-time girlfriend. If they have a straight friend? Yes, they have Marcy Bueno, the saint in their group. Razel just continued her work. She is already writing the last chapter of her current story. It is her 12th story that she published online, and she has already gained a lot of followers and fans. She is writing for her fans, to slap them with reality but also learn something. She wants them to still believe in love even though she has already given up on it. But every story wasn't perfectly written, and she knows that. And the most iconic part of her journey in writing is that she never wrote her own story, she didn't have the courage. No one is interested in knowing me, in knowing my story, in knowing the real me. People just loved me because of my work, but never me. Razel was sitting with a cup of coffee in her hand while she was directly looking at her laptop. She wanted to finish the story she wrote, so she could rest for a few months and write stories again. From her own perspective, once she stopped writing for so long, people will no longer appreciate her works. And this was her problem. She's too focused on what will be the outcome of the story, if her story will attract people or not. Yes, she is also leaving an impact and lessons on the readers, but she never really gets out of her comfort zone. She always wants to be seen. A notification then pops out on her screen. A message from one of her followers and readers online. RedPin (active now) Hi, I never thought that you would follow me back (read) BlackMaskWrites Hello. (read) [This person is unavailable.] Razel then feels like she is collapsing. She was paranoid and kept on looking at the windows and outside. She roamed around the room to look for someone in the house, and she was holding a knife. She couldn't breathe well. She's having a panic attack. All her memories of what happened during her father's burial several years ago, rushed back inside her head. She feels like she's been watched, and she feels like someone is trying to get into her again. The wind blew through the window, and she felt a shiver down her spine. Razel feels like someone just touched her, in the most sensitive part of her body. She knows that it wasn't a normal reaction. Razel hugged herself in fear, realizing that she was alone and anytime someone would come and touch her again without permission. She had hallucinations of a figure of a man dragging her into the bedroom, dragging her body by the feet. She screamed in fear. Fear of that man again. Fear of experiencing it all again. All her fears came back in an instant. Suddenly, the power went out and she was afraid of the dark. She started crying and feeling the cold wind. She shivers and all she can do is hug herself like a fetus and close her eyes. No, not again please. Not me again. Please. Stop. I can't take it again. 7 years of abuse is already enough please. Please, someone. Help me. Even if she closed her eyes, she could see the smirk of the man in her memories. A man who she trusted the most. A man who her family trusted the most. A man who's a father figure to her. She suddenly felt a hand on her neck, choking her. But in reality there was no one, it was all her hallucinations, her bad experience hunting her down again. Razel then heard a loud knock on the door. Calling her name repeatedly. "Razel!" a voice called her. "Razel, open up!" she didn't know the person calling her, but she couldn't respond because of too much fear. "I'm coming in!" She heard a loud noise, someone knocked on the door. She heard footsteps and she cried in horror. The footsteps became loud, her body started shaking, and her heart raced like hell. Then she felt someone embrace. Someone is hugging her body, but she feels like there's a cloth that was on her body, avoiding direct physical contact between them. "Are you okay?" it was almost an echo in her head. "Sht." Razel then lost her conscious. When she woke up, she was on the hospital bed. She saw a few bruises on her body and she wasn't aware of where she had got from. She felt dizzy. Good thing Stefan saw her and guided her immediately. "Oh God, I'm glad you're awake." he said, and then her other friends stepped towards the bed, worried sick. "Are you okay? Are you feeling dizzy?" Paula asked. "James, get the nurse!" "I am a nurse," he said and rolled his eyes. "Her nurse, dummy!" "Whatever," he said, and then looked at Razel. "I'm glad you're awake." Even though she was feeling dizzy, and a little bit confused, she had the strength to sit down on the bed. "What happened?" "You had a panic attack." Stefan said. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you." "It's not your fault," she smiled. "What happened?" Paula asked, she seemed to notice something. "It's unusual and its sudden that you experienced this again after so many years." "It's nothing." "It's not nothing because you said it's nothing." Paula glared at her. "We'll have a session after this." "Uh, I don't want to be your patient again!" "You need to." "Good thing Attorney Yu was there and took you to the hospital," Stefan said. "Who?" "Our neighbor. She was the one who brought you here. You don't remember her?" "I don't." "The woman you keep on cursing whenever you see her. Attorney Geneva Yu." Oh god, why of all the people that could've saved me? I hate that attorney womanizer.
